  1. MDC does stock striped bass into Lake of the Ozarks. They stock every other year at a low density similar to what they are doing on Bull Shoals Lake. I'm not sure the exact stocking rate but I believe it is 1 to 3 fish per acre.
  2. Bull Shoals Lake Boat has found ZM as deep as 80 feet under some of their docks. They are certainly not as numerous at that depth as they are in the preferred range of 20-30 feet. As mentioned in another post, we haven't found a measurable impact of the zebra mussels in BSL besides bothering the anglers.
  3. No, we are still on track to purchase this piece of property. Purchasing property through state government is a very slow process.
  4. Yes during a normal year, there is a deep pocket of water that fish will move to. On that particular graph, look the DO (all the lines on the left). As you progress over time, the lines move to the left, indicating less and less oxygen. T Most fish can move from zone to zone, however sometimes fish get trapped if that deep pocket collapse to quickly. It also depends on the species of fish. Fish like bass are less sensitive then striped bass. Walleye are in-between those two species in terms of sensitivity to DO.
  5. We just got word that 190,000 redear sunfish were stocked into Bull at Lead Hill, yesterday. One of the hatcheries had surplus and stocked them there.

That's awesome! Thanks for the Update!

  6. We do and have (for many years) stock blue catfish annually in Bull Shoals Lake. We agree that Redear Sunfish aren't going to be the cure all for the zebra mussels in the lake. However, we are willing to try give them a shot.
  7. Ham, I replied in the Bull Shoals post.
  8. Yes, we have been trying to get some stocked in the lake. We will likely grow a crop of Redear Sunfish in the nursery pond in 2016.

  11. We currently don't know the impacts, if any, of the zebra mussels in Bull Shoals Lake. The population is still expanding and will likely crash at some point. Then the numbers will stabilize at some level. At that point, their levels will fluctuate over time. We have found zebra mussels all the way to the dam. However, this hasn't stop us from still monitoring the fish populations in the lake. At this point, we are going to have to figure out a way to live with them. Again, we haven't found a measurable impact of the zebra mussels besides bothering the anglers.
  12. Do you live around Mountain Home? If so, I would suggest joining the Twin Lakes Walleye Club. They have great members that take other members out and show them how to fish Norfork and Bull Shoals.
  13. On Facebook, they posted that the Dec 19 tournament had been moved to Dec 12th.
  14. We (AGFC) stock walleye at the Cricket Creek Access.
  15. Aarchdale@coresleep.com is correct. The reason we stock them at 2 inches is walleye become very cannibalistic around 2 inches in the ponds. On Bull and Norfork, it takes on average 4 years for a walleye to reach 18 inches. I would suspect the walleye in TR grow at a similar rate.
  16. High water years are great for the fish!! If we didn't have them on Bull, it would......I don't even want to think about that, lol!!
  17. I like the boss shakey head as well.
  18. Sorry, I forgot to add that part. The readings at each lake are taken at the buoy line at the dam.
  19. On the USACE website, they post monthly DO and Temperature Profiles collected by the USGS for the White River Chain of Lakes (http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/Pertinent_WQ_Data.htm). Here is the most updated one for Table Rock (http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/reports/remote/profiles/tabpro.htm). I hope this link will be useful for someone.
  20. The dates for the bass-o-thon are: Nov 28 - Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock - Bull Shoals Dec. 19 - Panther Bay - Norfork Jan. 23 - Lead Hill or Buck Creek - Bull Shoals Feb 13 - Quarry Marina - Lake Norfork Feb 27 - Fish Off - Bull Shoals Lake boat Dock - Bull Shoals
  21. We are glad to have them back!! It should be interesting.
  22. The plan was the first two days on Bull and the last two days on Norfork. But 5bites is correct that according to Bassfan, they will be alternating between lakes.
  23. BASS is coming to Bull Shoals Lake on April 21. They will be fishing two days on Bull Shoals Lake and then two on Lake Norfork. http://www.bassmaster.com/bassmaster-tournament-trail-schedule/2016
