  4. Launched at Long Creek ramp at 6:45 this morning, first rig in the lot. I started out jigging a tree in 15 feet and right off landed a 15 inch crappie. Jigged several other trees, not even a sniff. I set the boat in about 20 feet and started throwing towards the bank and brought the jig back really slow and caught 11 more crappie in the next hour and a half. The fish was scattered from right on the bank to 15 feet of water. I needed 3 more crappie to fill out my limit, fished till 11:00 and could not get another crappie. All fish were caught on 1/16th oz. green pumpkin chartreuse pepper tube jig. Water temp was 58.5.

  14. We finally got to get on the water today, first time this year. We have been so busy!!! Did not get on the water till 11:30, launched at Long Creek, several other rigs in the parking lot. Trying to find some crappie, went to our usual spots and fished with tube jigs in different colors. Fished the bank out to about 20 foot of water and jigged a lot of trees, could not buy a bite. Clear skies and light wind made it tough. Fished for crappie for about 4 hours and nothing to show for it. Decided to do some bass fishing, first spot we tried had a couple of light hits. Moved to the mouth of a larger cove and started to get bit about a 1/3rd of the way back into the cove. Wife was throwing a PB&J Ned, and I was throwing a Green Pumpkin fish doctor on a split shot rig. Most bites came in about 15 to 20 foot. We probably had 10 or more fish come unbutton close to the boat, they were hitting really light and I think they were just grabbing the tail and hanging on to it till they got close to the boat. Ended up with 4 or 5, no keepers but did have a nice one that came off at the boat. We also threw A-Rig, Wiggle Wart and a Jig, no love on any of them. Water temp was 57.5 when we started and 58.7 when we ended. It was a tough day for us, but it was so great to get out on the lake!!!! No pics, did not have anything that was picture worthy!!!!

  20. I agree with you, smoke red flake is my favorite, I have 4 inch Yum smoke red flake ( 1 bag left, I wish I had 30 or more bags left) that I bought 5 or 6 years ago and now it is almost impossible to find that color in anything. My second favorite is smoke salt and pepper, then clear salt and pepper.
