Didn't try a spinnerbait but I did catch one on a spro rockcrawler.

They were scattered for sure. Water temps hit high 60s. You know it's a weird fall when you're hot fishing the first of November

Put in at RB ramp and immediately saw bass and bluegill up shallow so that's what I did from the dam up to hawker point after the fog finally cleared. The main things I used were a 3/8 jewel finesse jig, a wobble head and did some experimenting with the larger size ned rig. Had this rigged on a baitcasting rod with 10# line. It works okay but with the standard head and rigging it wanted to get hung up often. I rigged it on a standard shaky head weedless and that helped a lot. Fish were bunched up it seemed. Saturday I started with the same deal but soon got one tangled up in a shallow brush pile. So I got a power shot out rigged with a Yamamoto flapping hog, then a perch D shad and started throwing at brush. This was more reliable as I'd get at least one per spot. So it seems there are several still out in the brush as well as close to the bank.

Thanks for the report! Got a few days off from soybean harvest so I'm headed down this afternoon for a much needed fishing trip.

I caught them yesterday on a short outing in the same spots only using a Carolina rigged lizard and a wobble head jig. Getting ready to go out and see what happens today. I was between the dam and hawker point.

This is why the two guide trips I've been on were without any tip given. Nothing like paying a guy $50/hr to fish while you're in the back.

A friend of mine got a z21, I liked the ventilation fans to dry things like your rod and reels out.

My pfd stays attached to my kill switch and is zipped up before the engine gets started. I don't wear a seatbelt all the time but never waiver on that.

Not quite that fast, power poles really affect top end. Low to mid 80s with a 27 prop is more realistic.

Looks like that's south of Snyder corner, I know 4 people with places in that area. Two have places in ricochet ridge and two have places on across the lake off of zz. I don't know anything about hunting but as far as fishing it can be good. The worst thing about it is in the spring that area is a mudslide. All the water from hillsdale to Fort Scott comes through there so it gets real dirty. This spring we ended up putting in just north on the grand arm to catch anything. Other than that it's a pretty quiet area. Id check it out thoroughly for yourself though. It doesn't bother me with my Lowe but the ramps in that area have no docks. One is just a gravel bank in fact. Be sure you take everything down with you because there's nothing around lol.

Stick with that for sure although I sure like the sho Yamaha.

I have friends that have a place in Stockton and they go down a lot. Problem is they don't bass fish, only walleye and crappie. I presume this is because they don't have to actually make a cast and can drink at the same time lol.

In my experience that kind works the best. I have a daiwa one on a retractable dog leash I try first because it's handier but on the occasion that doesn't work I get the telescoping pole out.

Horror stories like that make me glad I'm single lol. Have to agree with mr babler though, I've only have shimano and daiwa and between the two shimano is the clear winner. I had a few daiwa baitcasters get noisy and I boxed 5 of them up and sent to daiwa. They gave me the runaround for a month, kept telling me they'll ship tomorrow. I've ended up replacing spool and pinion bearings on most of them now. Never had an issue with my shimanos so that's all I buy anymore.

Wanted to add that most bassers I saw seemed to be fishing the brush on shore. Did anyone catch any on this pattern?

I should have fished the ned more I guess! I fought them on a little bit of everything Saturday and Sunday, I probably liked the Carolina rigged lizard the best. About the only thing I couldn't catch them in was a jig but they'd probably seen a bunch of those. Lots of people fishing last weekend.

I use the double uni for my braid to fluoro leaders with good results. Typically 20# slick 8 power pro to 8# fc. The typical surgeons knot wouldn't hold.

I would agree on this. I only bass fish out of my boats and both have mk fortrex on them. When I go with some friends however, they typically crappie fish and troll for walleye and white bass. A handy feature about the wireless is my buddy could sit in the drivers seat with his rod out to the side, watching his gps, and run the trolling motor.
