  1. Thats awesome and what fishing is about IMO! You know it's memorable if you get the same thrill telling the story over again.
  2. I can't find it, but there was a great Eli Manning cartoon. Eli has his feet up on the table and he says to Peyton. "You just let me know if that Brady kid gives you anymore trouble" 🤣
  3. Dave Nice goldfish and bullhead! Are you sight fishing the bullhead or just getting hit as you strip it back?
  4. They are in the White River in AR. This one hit a Zig Jig above Rim shoals. I've seen them in Big Piney river in MO.
  5. Sounds like a great time. I love watching the bobber sink🙂. Almost as good a feeling as that thump on the line IMO! That just never gets old.
  6. Just in terms of number of fish caught, number of species, size of fish... she did 😒. I spent most of my time trying to catch a new darter species, but was unsuccessful🙄.
  7. the guides never get any credit. Who researched the location, brought the rods, baits, told her how to fish the spot. Geesh🙄!
  8. Rick I do think that hospitals have been mismanaged. With testing there should be no reason that some hospitals could be deemed nonCOVID hospitals so that elective surgeries can take place without fear of COVID. What is happening is that those hospitals that are not actively treating COVID patients are closing.
  9. We have hand sanitizer in the car all the time. I wash my hands and sanitize when I get in the car. I sanitize when I leave the car and go into work. I sanitize when I leave work and head into the house. I sanitize after pulling handles, doors ,etc. More about protecting myself and my family.
  10. Great fish Dave!! Can't wait to catch a few grass carp. Have not caught one yet. I have a buddy that gave me a location where he caught a 20+lb grass carp on strawberry carp bait after he chummed with corn soaked over night in strawberry flavoring. Don't think that I will have time in Columbia to try for those guys. Haven't heard any reports of grass carp in MD. Probably in some private ponds.
  11. So many folks just wear the mask over their mouth like that is the only way that they would spread the virus. It is more difficult to breath when wearing. So don't wear it when you are by yourself. My daughter works in retail and folks attack her for the policies that the corporate folks have made. Too freaking bad that you can't go browse for the new video game because you don't want to wear a mask. That crap makes me very mad.
  12. In the early days of having to wear masks in MD saw lots of folks driving by themselves wearing masks. Also a lot would be wearing gloves as well. Makes one wonder 🤔!
  13. Someone wanted to catch a bass. Third cast hooked this guy on a baby bass fluke! This is a good moment for 2020😁! She caught bigger fish but I'll save for a different post 😉
  14. That's awesome Mitch. All kids should know how to catch frogs and fish IMO.
  15. I have not had a good to great duck hunt yet. Have drawn poorly and stood in frozen water to shoot at one duck if we were lucky. I know a bunch of folks not on OAF that love it. I do like eating duck. MD thinks that they are the premier waterfowl hunting destination. We see a lot of ducks and lots and lots of geese around. Lots of leased land around us gets hunted hard.. Though I don't know guys at work that hunt ducks or geese.
  16. Cooler full of crappie says it all. Congrats!
  17. Nice score Marty. I saw the Who back in high school. Great concert. I complained to my friend about a guy following us on the NJ turnpike. I said I wish this clown would get off my butt. My buddy turned to see an actual clown driving behind us😉. I heard a Nora Jones song on the radio on the way out to MO and said to Sue that I really like her but we didn't have a CD. Will habe to keep my eyes open.
  18. Very nice pond bass! Congrats!
  19. The biking and fishing sound great @dan hufferd! The work sounds just like work to me! Being away from home for that long sucks as well. Hope that you and yours have a happy 4th!
  20. A man walks into his son's bedroom to call him down for dinner. The room is empty but is cleaned and the bed is well made. On the pillow is an envelope. With trepidation he opened the envelope and read the letter inside. "Dear Dad. I didn't know how to tell you in person but I have eloped with my girlfriend Stacy. We knew that you wouldn't have approved of our marriage due to her piercings and tattoos, but thought it was the best that we could do with the baby on the way. Though she is 45 we feel that the baby shouldn't be an issue. We have moved in together in her trailer in the woods. She won't be able to drive after the birth but I have my learner's permit. So we should be able to get around. She has a garden and you know that I have always had a green thumb. Looks like we will have a bumper crop in her marijuana grove. We should have enough to barter for any food and other drugs we may need. She does have a bit of a problem when she has her withdrawls, but I'll be there to help her shoot up as needed. Gets me practice for med school. Ok none of this is true! I am at Jason's. I just wanted you to see that there are much worse things than the report card I left on the kitchen table. Let me know when I can come home." 😉
  21. An elderly couple were in church. The woman leans over and says to her husband "I just let out a long silent fart. What should I do?" "Get your hearing aids checked!"🤣🤣
  22. I really want to catch all four species, white perch, white bass, stripers, yellow bass, and hybrids all within the same year🙂.
  23. Thanks Pete. I was planning to get out there in April/May but COVID derailed those plans😒.
  24. About a month after they started lifting the lock down in Maryland, I wanted to try to get on a new darter species to achieve another of my 2020 goals. Most darters were going to be on the other side of the bay. We hadn't been over the Bay bridge since the first week in Mar. Now it is the middle of June. I picked out a couple of spots on the Patapsco and Patuxent/Little Patuxent rivers to try for the tessellated darter that would also have some interesting things for all of us to do as a family. We got the first park and it was closed. I was confused since they had opened up the parks and fishing areas. Well it turned out that they were full and not letting in new folks. We went and found another park that was full. I then headed to a section of the Patuxent river and it was running higher and faster than I felt would be good wading for us to actually be able to fish darters effectively. Finally got to a spot at Savage Park that we would have access to the Little Patuxent river. We got the microfishing gear ready and went down to the river. We had a large family downstream of us. The kids wanted to see what we were doing and they waded through a hole where Livie wanted to fish. That didn't go over well. The dad told the kids to stay away from us. We had another family or two upstream from us. So we were pinned in on a 50 yard section of river only. Fortunately I did see a darter in the first hole. It spooked and swam a bit upstream, but still within my reach. I put the bait in front of the fish and it just was not interested . It finally had enough and swam to a spot that I could no longer see it. I did notice something moving between two rocks. I put my bait in the gap and it turned and pulled the line into the gap. I set the hook on my first Maryland madtom! It was also a new lifer species for me as well, a margined madtom. We tried several more pools to try to get Livie on one, but didn't see another. My wife was getting interest in her baits, but no fish landed. We put on a smaller sized hook. I caught the first fish in the pool that she fished, the first river chub of the day. Then Livie landed one and then Sue got revenge on that fish that was going after her bait earlier. No new darters, a little tired of the people, but we had a great day finally getting out of the house and work. We'll have to get back out again after those darters and madtoms!
  25. Thanks Rick. I feel the same way buddy. I can't wait until we can fish together again. Even if it may just be for trout !
