Clawdads look great. I've always been a crazydad kind of guy but that thing looks sweet! Does anyone ever put the spray on scent on your smallie flies? I was gonna this year but just keep forgetting to.
I love the water below spider when table rock is really low. If you fish beaver much you get tired of fishing the same ol spots. Down there it's like a new river and hardly anyone. Some of my best days have been standing across from spider creek.
Yea I have an ultralite I love. I mainly fish 3" curly tail grubs on a 1/16 oz jig head. In the spring it is my #1 on spinning gear. You can fish a bitsy bug on it but it definitely isn't ideal.
trout dont want to be spoon fed, they want to feel like they earned what they eat. thats why a power bait in their face doesnt do anything for them. im sorry for being crued, its been a long week and i take fishing very seriously.
This whole post is silly. Use 2-4 lb fluorocarbon, or better yet, learn to fly fish. Those stockers are not as stupid as you would think. The line is everything.
Slayed em last night. Caught multiple 17-18" smallmouth, caught a largemouth that went the same. Threw a black buzz bait and a black hula grub. Probably caught 15-20 total and my buddy did the same although he seemed to loose the big girls. Best night fishing experience in my life. Only saw one meth head and one cottonmouth. Not bad for southern Missouri.
I reserve my top numbers creeks for flyfishing only, c&r of course. I would expect anyone who I told about them to do the same. I do my homework, I explore, I catch a lot of smallmouth.
I fished Saturday night down from mt shira. Didn't do great. Caught some nice largemouth on the black buzz bait and a few smallies. I found an abandoned canoe full of trash. The next morning I called the outfitter and told them where to find their boat.
My name is Amery, I'm a master electrician. I've been obsessed with fishing for as long as I can remember. I do a lot of fly fishing for trout and smallmouth. I have identical twin 2 year olds. That pretty much tells the story.
