  1. I fished a week ago and noticed the same thing. I would reel up my jig only to have fish chase it back to the boat. I switched to a 1 oz. football jig and kept it moving along the bottom just like you would fish a wobble head.
  2. The upper White around the big m area down to Campbell point is just crazy with big boats and boat traffic in general. The lake narrows up that way and besides it's a long run from kim city. Just my opinion.
  3. I've been swimming kietechs and doing a lot of drop shotting myself. Lots of fish already out there deep in the big m area. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm seeing a "line" starting to form right at 20 feet.
  4. Awesome spot! Both fish and location...
  5. Probably work great on the red fin.
  6. Bill your giving away my only good spots I have anymore! But seriously your right, where we were the other week on that bluff end "when you caught them all" before I got there, I was catching those kentuckies out " IN THE ABYSS".
  7. Sounds like a very fun day. I'm going to put in at big m and give them a try tomorrow. Thanks for the awesome pics and report.
  8. A lot of people are usually sitting on top of them, or are too far in and should cast to the other side of the boat...
  9. I put the 1/4oz road runner to work in that spot right when you were leaving. And yes those spots were all over the place. Why they didn't eat that sticker as well I'll never know. I do know that little road runner works wonders on those spots when they are acting like that. That was the first spot I stopped at yesterday morning and they still would not eat the stickbait. You guys out there can't get a better report than what Bill has given on this thread. I came out of viney creek eating a sandwich before I passed Bill, looking at the point that extends out. One of those pics of a smallmouth is in the same spot I left in the creek. Well done...
  10. That is exactly the same bite I found yesterday Bill. You just had to crawl that a rig on the bottom to get bit. And I didn't get a bite on the stickbait til I passed you and cut you off to that bluff end at about 3 pm! I had to beat you there so you wouldn't catch them all!
  11. Is the water starting to clear up in that area Quillback?
  12. I'd like to fish out of big m Sunday, so I'm also curious as to what the water clarity is up that way.
  13. Thanks Bill that's what I was sure of but just wanted it clarified
  14. I've cleaned only one that had eggs in em lately but the males are full of sperm so I'm not sure if they've spawned on table rock or not. Like to hear from someone that knows table rock more than my two years experience can offer.
  15. Me and my dad had so many two weeks ago that I had to break out the electric fillet knife to clean them all, and had a bonus walleye to boot.
  16. Blue shore minnow... Thats a great one!
  17. I've only fished twice since the lake came up the second time and both times it's been bream fishing. Since then all my big congregations of Kentucky's have either scattered or moved, but either way I haven't been able to find them in large groups. I can pick up one or two off of points and bluff ends but it's hit and miss for me, and for once I've put in a little work to try and find them again but with no luck. Next time I'm out Im going to check some gravel roll offs in that thermocline range and see if I can have better luck. Once again thanks for some input Bill B. it helps us peons out a whole bunch!
  18. That's weird to me because the bass I have been catching have not been out on the points for me, maybe I need to look at some gravel that dumps into a channel...
  19. I love seeing those fish working like that.
  20. Points have been the best with a few caught just going down the bank. Bluff ends are a good place to look as well. Most are in the 15 foot range as Phil said but have caught them on out to 25 foot and one caught suspended over 40 feet deep. I fish for them with a drop shot rig tied with a #4 drop shot hook and 1/4 ounce weight and a third of a night crawler, which is exactly the rig I use for bass also. Believe it or not, electronics are a lot of help too.
  21. I've been catching them in the big m area.
  22. Two Sundays ago I came in from fishing and was idling to the ramp (at big m) and it was just a hot mess. Because the lake was up there was less parking lot room. There was a big deck boat trying to launch so I just Sat for a minute and waited for them to launch. 15 minutes later and after watching these people try and fail to get it started I just decide to squeeze my rig beside there's and load up. Now I know we have all seen this before and to me it's hilarious, but the moral of the story is if you don't know what your doing, don't embarrass yourselves. That spot where that little red rope "used" to be is a kill switch, and if it's engaged in the down position, your motor will not start...
  23. What was the water color in that area?
  24. ^^^^ That was a good one champ, I got a good kick outta that one!
  25. Still have the prop, if anyone wants it the first $200 gets it.
