  1. Thank you to all that have served.
  2. I can't comment on any trends noticed in Derbys. My personal experience follows what DTRS says above. I have a soft spot for mean spots but when the lake gets busy mid morning and my shorter rig won't allow me to fight the rollers I move to safer water. Not combing the bank like you'd traditionally fish on another lake but 2xs the distance out...1/2 way between the schooled fish and the bank. That's where I catch more LM's. And they cheat up at night. My biggest have come at night slightly shallower than where I found th late morning. Long way of saying I think traffic has pushed them out a bit.
  3. Glad to hear. I'm confident you will enjoy it.
  4. I prefer to think of it as 29 games.
  5. Flueger President. You won't be disappointed.
  6. So a shocker fan and jayhawk fan are walking down the street and notice a dog licking himself in a certain area between his hind legs. The shocker says "wouldn't you like to be able to do that?" The Jayhawk replys " I sure would, but I'm afraid he'd bite me..." Btw, I'm better with 6lb floro than bailing wire.
  7. Enforcer, There's a "posting pics" thread somewhere on the main board that should help. Looking forward to seeing them. Drywall crap means your getting close...to finishing your project or divorce. I hope the earlier.
  8. The nap was likely a better option anyway. There are no fish in Beardsley.....
  9. Thanks for the update Donna. Is Champ trying to figure out how to put an arm, blade and skirt on the little rig?
  10. Another great report. I tried throwing a jerk today after reading your comments and couldn't get a bite. Landed 3 quality spots on the ned this morning before we had to get the house picked up to head home. Thanks again for great reporting.
  11. Some pics from previous report.
  12. Great post, great kids and a great dad for taking them. Although you can go ahead and admit why the youngest is shoeless...I wouldn't let him wear shoes on the front deck with all that hardware either. Might get a hook in his foot, or worse, smash an eyelet!
  13. Caught 22 Friday. 4-5 keepers. Larger fish in the morning and later afternoon. Only short brown ones under the high sun. Majority on PB&J Ned. (1/8 better than smaller...thanks Dave). A couple on a Keitech swimbait. Lots of good followers on spinnerbait from dock shadows mid-day but no takers. Saw fish on beds in the back, but our fish came from 1/4 to 3/4 ways back in 10-15 FOW. Caught 18 today. 7-8 keepers. A couple of good spots on the Ned this morning in Beardsley. Bro-in-law caught a 5 lb'r shallow with a TX rig worm after lunch. She was cruising, no visible bed nearby or any signs, on her, of spawning. A good mix of Spots, LM's and SM throughout the day. Best fishing seems to be on 45 degree gravel banks with spotty pole timber. Will post pics tomorrow.
  14. Agree with the culprits. I also like the 10" UV power worms. Keep us posted.
  15. Stretch to the max and let go. Several times. Got it soft as an old glove.
  16. I spent some time where the spot was caught, but no other takers. I did make another major Ned Rookie mistake though....forgot to wear out the elaztec before fishing it. Worked one over tonight and it's like a totally different bait. I'm confident the new look would have brought in more. Hopefully others reading this learn from my mistake.
  17. Got on the water Saturday and threw the 110, wart and ned with nothing until 3:15. Caught one LM and one Spot on the ned back in the creek in 10-15 feet of water, dead sticking it. Caught one SM near a gradual main lake point on the way back out. Was pretty frustrated thinking it was me, but it sounds like others struggled as well. Still good to get out. Posting some pics for the first time, hope it works.
  18. Not with the fish we saw. Ours were deeper. 10-15' on pb&j ned. Boring banks with little timber.
  19. Saw this as well today. The fish I saw shallow were slow and rooting around and under rocks. All good fish. I noticed one on his side and thought he might not be doing well but was actually trying to peek under a rock. When he saw me, he slowly slipped back to deeper water.
  20. Thanks!
  21. Git, Congrats to your son. Did you have much wind this am? I'll be in the dam area tomorrow, but with calm water might not have thrown it. Will now give it a shot. Anymore info would be much appreciated. Ned, wart, mc110, tube, and jig on deck. Ned's leading off.
  22. Built a mudhole ned rod myself this winter. A 6' lite spinning. Only regret, wish it were a 6.5' and didn't come with black and gold thread. Purple, black and white with another 6" would have been better. This one will become a crappie rod. Bought a new St Croix premier for the Ned.
  23. Beautiful fish quill. Great contrast!
  24. Thanks for posting. Love regional fishing history.
  25. Wish I could but can't. Expecting live updates. Everyone have fun and be safe. Dave
