It’s that crusty neighbor lady of yours.

Definitely makes moving deer stand out with the white ground.

Exact meal we had last night, coupled with corn.

That’s cool how you guys look like twins. Even situated the drink under the same arm.

Those making soups/chili this weekend with the cold temps, if you have an extra chair let me know. Or if you deliver to a blind, that would be appreciated as well.

Well, i just spent 10 minutes getting it set up and going. I took a new, factory edge knife and within minutes had it scalping the hair off my arm “isn’t that how you test the sharpness?” So it took me a minute to figure the end result. I thought i could achieve a sharp edge by continuing with the red “sharpening” belt. After 20 pulls on each side, it was sharp but not huntin’ sharp. Put the purple “honing” belt on, pulled each side 8 times, and here’s the result. No more hair on my arm. I’m going to like this. I have nothing compared to MO as far as knives, but i do have 30 to 40 that will get a new edge put on them.

Well, picked up a few items this week. I got the binos at Bass Pro. While there i glassed thru 4 different pair all within that $300 range. Being a very simple guy that grew up with not a lot, i guess my expectations are very low because i could not tell much difference between them. The guy helping me glassed them all as well and said the same. He said it was more about the internal parts more so than the actual viewing. I did look thru a pair of Vortex Razor HD that were almost $2000 and tho the eye relief was better, I didn’t see much difference in the viewing, but again I’m a simple guy that doesn’t expect much. Now to get to sharpening these knives. Thank BH for the suggestions.

Meatloaf sammich for breakfast on my way to TR to prefish for tournament tomorrow. One of my absolute favorite meals is meatloaf with mashed taters, corn, broccoli and garlic bread.

With the leaves falling, it’s easy to get lit up. I like getting up in cedars. I have a few stands up in cedars. The first thing i do is break off some and rub them between my hands, then on my clothing to kill any left over scent. Works like a charm, and those trees are green and prefect cover year round.

Oh, i have killed thousands of animals I didn’t eat. I was hired by a dairy to shoot the pigeons that lived in/around the barns. Couldn’t even begin to give an accurate number of birds we shot. I have been to Kansas prairie dog shooting. Killed skunks, armadillos, mice, opossums, etc etc etc. that were never eaten. If you live outside of the city, there are reasons to kill things. Sport shooting birds is a fun outing. Turning on that electronic call on the crow call lights the sky up with black in a hurry. Talk about some fast shooting.

I was serious. In the 30’s and into the 40’s there was a rage about eating crows, so much that there was even a gathering of sorts of folks that shared ideas. When i used to join the guys at hunt camp, a few of them insisted that they had eaten it several times, and that it had a stronger, tho pleasant taste. I did get 2 shots off on them, but both times i missed just enough. The deer wouldn’t stay out of the field more then 10 minutes.

So they are non-edible?
-
But, we could say that about quail, pheasant, ducks, dove, etc. correct?

Get that skimpy, butt showing neighbor to take you. You will definitely come back smelling of fish.

And the .25 got the nod. Set up my pop up blind today for deer season and the crows were thick, so with them fighting the chickens over food daily, i figured i would just see what these taste like, as mama might get upset if i eat one of her precious chickens. Have i said how much i like this Hawke scope?

So you got up there and cleaned the gutters out with one arm, and raked the leaves? You are a persistent feller.

I liked that one episode where sasquatch was riding on the Loch Ness Monster. -
Being i ate it at a buffet in Vegas, the chances of it being an old ram is pretty good. Not only was the taste unpleasant, but i chewed a piece for 2 minutes before it flew out of my mouth. I’m glad they had hotdogs on their menu that day, as i was pretty hungry.

Ok BH, you’re killing me here. Watched 2 videos of it, and headed to Lowes shortly to grab one. Shows they have it in stock for $79.98. I mean how do you go wrong with that for something that will last for years, used on something that we use. I may even volunteer to sharpen buddies knives.

Something else i need advice on. I haven’t sharpened my own knives in years. I usually take the 2 i carry in the woods, to Bass Pro before season and have them do their best. This season I’m going to do my own. Looking at stones, the world has exploded the past 10+ years with new things. So many from the old school stones like gramps used, to the new diamond style. Looking for one that will put an edge on one. Any input?

On one of my many trips to Vegas, we ate at a casino buffet that was serving lamb stew. Had never had lamb, so on my uncle’s suggestion, i piled it on my plate. All i can say is, since that day back in 1996, i have never touched it again. My palate thought it was poop. But that picture sure looks good.
