  1. Dont you live in KS? Didnt know they knew what a map was since it flat enough to see from east to west and north to south.
  2. P.S. how come very few of the pictures show up? Even clicking on tge link has a blank screen.
  3. Nice. Glad to see ya got it back together, and that there was no reason to change scopes. I will keep the info handy.
  4. Nice writeup Al. Tho im grosely negligent in mapping, i do look at them online when venturing out somewhere i have never been, to hike, hunt. As you stated, when GPS came on scene, it cut out the need to spend those types of hours looking, when a zoomed in GPS map has so much to offer. I enjoy woodworking, and at times still use a hand planer instead of the electric variety i have, just because.
  5. So if the boat/trailer is covered by my truck insurance while towing, then the insurance for the boat covers while off trailer. So in order to be covered for liability alone due to an accident, i just need the basics? But to me that defeats the purpose of having insurance in a way, as how many days on the water VS how many accidents do us as fishermen have? Very slim chance you will need insurance for that reason. My main concern would be more realistic concerns: Tearing lower unit up, hitting something in the water at speeds, having tackle/electronics stolen, loosing tackle/electronics/trolling motor in the lake "yes it happened 2 years ago". So my reasoning for insurance goes well beyond the basics.
  6. Just got off the water in the Masters area. Water was nice with about 16 to 20" vis. Caught 9 bass, with 3 keepers all just at 2 pounds each. Secondary points in 4' of water with a wiggle wart.
  7. 6.4:1
  8. What does your policy say as far as coverage to hull/motor and tackle?
  9. No string on it.
  10. Its in about new condition. Bought it thinking i could learn to flip/pitch left hand, but it throws my brain/hand cordination for a loop. $50 prefer F2F Springfield area or an area lake at my convience.
  11. Its been very mildly discussed in a few topics, but looking for more. Maybe a sticky so those looking can find info pertaining only to boat insurance. With that said, heres a few questions: Is boat insurance manadatory? Is your home/vehicle insurance provider as knowledgeable about boat insurance, as a marine insurance company? Are there any insurance guys here? Would be nice to support fellow members. What is the "standard" insurance policy? Does boat insurance rate on boat length, year, style, or? Does insurance cover accidents like lower unit replacement, holes in hull, cracked/torn transom, damage done while NOT on the water? Are aftermarket/added upgrades "including fishing tackle" covered due to accident, theft, etc.? The "Named Storm Exclusion" add on meaning if your boat is damaged by a storm they attached a name to, then your SOL. Are there ways around this? On a total loss, what constitutes a "Full Recovery" payout on the boat/items? This should get it started. Please feel free to chime in with personal experiences, and if you sell marine insurance, please speak up, as im sure some, including myself are looking for a better policy.
  12. Walking on that would suck i think due to not being an even area with the ridges. 1/2" CDX plywood sealed, then carpeted would be good. Easy to remove a few screws to take the deck off.
  13. wrench did you not clean the bore/barrel? Thought i knew ya better than that. If so how did it diesel without lube?
  14. Well heck. No better time than now to polish the parts and make it really shoot straight.
  15. Haha. You bet, just hand them that IOU and tell them to hold their breath.
  16. Playing devils advocate here BBT, so if your numbers dropped over 50% next year due to your stance on not making weighin more friendly, what would your group then do?
  17. Pictures on other topic.
  18. Holy smokes. Way to put a lickin to em'.
  19. Why not tack weld it there? Quick and simple VS having to drill holes, install brackets, rivets.. Seems like alot of extra work. Wrench said rivets but im going against him for what your wanting. I would want that thing ridgid. Welding it from brace to brace will keep it from pushing out. Those rivets wont give you that.
  20. Exactly what i do. I always have since my first boat 30 years ago, and do the same for riding mower, vehicles, anything with an engine. My dad was a sucker about thes things, and i carried that to my kids. Cant hurt anything by letting it warm to operating temp.
  21. 3 day event? Now thats stepping up the game. This lake could host such an ordeal as th format allows anglers freedom to choose put in locations, etc. it was mentioned several times last year about weighin being mid-lake to make it more feesible. But again we understand the reason "$$$$" why you have it at that location.
  22. Welcome Chad to the best fishing site this side of the ocean "doesnt matter which ocean". Sell one of those and you can fish with us aluminum boat guys. We start our year off out of Cape this Sat.
  23. Thats my thought. Very doubtful hes fishing another tourney anytime soon. Even if he did, as Targa stated, that alot of water, on a bait probably 50% of the other anglers were tossing also. What gets me about people, is who gives a rats butt what he caught it on. Its not like you can control a fish biting YOUR lure. How many times have you been in a boat with someone that was catching fish, using the same bait you were, and you struggled? Happens often.
  24. ive done a few. If you need the number to the buddy of mine that has done all my fab work and welding, PM and i will give you his number. He lives/works in Springfield.
  25. Seen him respond on the FB page.
