How many times have we heard of a teacher going on a shooting rampage in this country in the last 50 years? My guess would be that roughly 40% of teachers in this country would take the training to able themselves to carry within the schools, but i would take that verses the current situation any day. There are faculty that carry now without anyone knowing, just so they are prepared incase of a situation. I would lose my job any day compated to losing my or a kids life, by taking that chance. Having been involved in a law enforcement capacity within schools teaching kids, and chatting with many teachers, most would feel alot safer knowing Mr. Jones next door is trained and prepared to handle little Tommy or Tommys dad if either came into the school to cause havic. Why not just keep ALL doors locked during hours, and if a parent needs to come, they go into a seperate area where the kids would come to them, without going into the school. Same as having kids go thru detectors before entering like some of the big cities do. If a student comes late or leaves early, they go thru detection, the seperate area before entering the school.

Like alot of you, i also came from the older era where a gunin the rack in the truck was the norm, and NEVER a concern to other students, teachers, law enforcement, etc. I seen one last week, guy was probably late 30's in Nixa at a signal, and sadly my first thought was "where in the hell is this guy from". Just not something i have seen since the 90's.

Fact: Evil is among us. Always has been always will be. And Evil is armed. Impossible to disarm evil. The only way to stop Evil is for good guys with guns to fill Evil full of holes. You can't ban hurricanes so smart people fortify our homes. You can't ban water so smart people learn to swim. When coyotes kill the cats you don't declaw the cats. The bad news is that we are not going to stop Evil from attempting to kill our kids at school. What we can do is make it harder for Evil to kill our kids The good news is that we can at the very least slow down Evil & potentially even stop it if we have the guts to do what’s right: arm teachers who want to be armed and train them. In every slaughter instance I know darn well there were Americans who wanted to be armed to stop evil but insane laws forbid them to stop evil. We have fire extinguishers and other fire suppression equipment in schools to stop fires. Why shouldn’t we have good guys and gals with guns to stop Evil? Political correctness is a self-inflicted suicidal scourge of denial and dishonesty. We put armed security officers in our airports, at our courthouses, at concerts and at our US Capitol. Why not our schools? If we say our kids are important, then its way past time to do something to protect them. The solution is to arm those teachers who are willing to be armed and then to provide them the training to protect our kids. Political correctness gets good people killed.

Cool thread guys. Thanks for the pictures. Gets me excited to spend the money. Looking more towards the water side.

There were 9 total out there.

Thanks MN. I looked out the door yesterday before walking out to feed cows, and took these picture 20' from the back deck. I went out the other day coyote huntin, but didnt see any. Did see about 15 turkeys close. I will send ya a PM soon and see about getting together.

As i look 16" out my front window of a goob of birds eating from the feeder, my hope is that dang armidillo comes back out. He has my yard tore to crap. Shot the one a few weeks back in the forehead with the 25. Guess this one didnt witness the outcome, and leave.

I only have 2 ways that i will cook and eat it. My favorite is lightly browned, then sauteed in cream of mushroom soup, for an hour. 2nd is crock pot bbq. Well that stinks. I read a few reviews on it that were pretty mixed. Most said it was very accurate. I think after i buy my new to me boat soon that i will get the Bull Boss. I have watched probably 30 videos of it now, and with it being an Arkansas company, makes it an easy choice for that gun. Already got my next Hawke scope picked out for it.
-
Man, i didnt figure you as a trader. But behind closed doors, i have been eye balling the Hatsan BullBoss in 25.
-
Finally got the Hatsan scope issue taken care of. Got the set screw down into hole on receiver firm, so hopefully no more issues with it walking back. Now gotta sight it in again. Luckily i like to shoot.
-
Nice wrench. Did she end up eating much of it? Maybe rabbit next?
-
fixed it for ya.

"You do know that there's a torque sequence on those 4 mount screws, right? Middle ones first." Yes. I did 2nd screw, 4th screw, 1st screw, 3rd screw, repeat until tightened. I was clamped down, trust me. Without that stop pin being set down into the hole, i dont think it would ever not move back.
-
I still research that same idea. Logic tells me that the rear/forward motion should keep it pretty much stationary. It doesnt tho, as my scope shows. There is a stop pin built into the rail. The hole on the gun is so far forward that to line them up the scope was WAY forward of getting a sight picture without leaning way forward. I turned the rail backwards and screwed the pin down between the slots on the gun mount. Obviously didnt hold. Looking at it the screw wasnt even down 1/16", hence allowing the rail to move back. I didnt take it off yesterday and mess with it. I will do that this evening. Hate to re-drill a new 3/16 hole more towards the rear of the barrel so the rail sits further back, but heck, its just a BB gun. 😜

"sexiest gas dock girls" What country do you live in? No such thang down here on TR, Stockton, or Pomme. -
Well. Got the Hatsan out today to shoot off the rest, to see how close my freehanding last week was. The first 6 shots were all in the same hole. Man i was feelin it. I shot another 30 shots, with each shot getting inches away from each other. First instict was "man i suck". Went up with pointer finger to release auto safety for another shot, and my finger wouldnt fit between safety and scope!!! That sucker slid back 3". No thread lock when i installed the new one piece rail. Looks like i will be getting some. I had all 4 anchor points locked down as tight as i was comfortable doing without breaking something. Looks at how far back the rail is past the receiver.

Man i had higher hopes for you. Pretty sure we have all done it, but my family/friends can usually tell when im driving because the delay in response is significant. -
I love that we can joke and rib as a group of guys without getting hurt feelings. wrench sitting indian style, while wearing Richard Simmons shorts is not a visual i want to have with me before bedtime. Oh heck, to late.

Quill, you can count me in with a 48 hour notice any of those outings. Im sure i will have another GSP by that time. I mentioned it on a thread here a year or 2 ago about the number of coveys that i see while out exploring. Its nothing like what i hear it was in the 50's, but guys, theres birds out there. I can go today with a good dog and be on a few coveys on the same 300 acres. I have another buddy that manages a ranch that we coyote hunt on hard, and jump quail often. That is on a few thousand acres. Another buddy just bought 860 acres near Humansville that they have seen birds. Again we have birds out there. Just gotta sack up and go find some. What i like about the places mentioned, is not one of those people are bird hunters. We sold our house 6 weeks ago and just moved into our new place on 126 acres. Ive hunted this place for coyotes/coon. Going to do some walking with the airgun soon to see what else i have out there. We have seen deer 50 yards from the house the last 2 evenings.
-
Haha. Been thinking seriously about that myself. I mean not because im gettig older, but just to support the ladies there. 👀
-
Any of you guys chase quail locally? With a dog? I raised and training GSP's from the Rawhide Clown bloodline. Boy i miss those days. Kept 1 pup from each litter, got it started good, then sold it. My female was a bird finding queen. We lived in Ohio at the time, and had many places we could limit out in 30 minutes on pheasant. Im kicking it around to buy another pup to get back into the quail. Been looking online. Got my eye on a rabbit dog also.
-
Man i love reading stories like this. Way to figure it out guys. Theres a few ponds i pass daily that have 50 or so geese. Wish i was into waterfowl like i was in the mid 90's. Congrats to you both.

Nice Gavin. I shot about 70 thru my Hatsan yesterday. Shooting at a burn barrel at 25 yards, and leaving holes thru the steel. I was inside and just happened to look out the window and finally seen the armadillo that has been tearing up the yard. Grabbed the Hatsan, stood on the back deck, and at 15 yards while he was facing me, placed one right thru his forehead. Im pretty impressed with the power of this gun. Got it sighted in pretty good at 20, but my shooting without a rest stinks. Gonna put it on the gun rest next time and see how close it really is.

The thing with cell usage VS impaired is, when you put the cell down the problem is over. With impairment it stays while your behind the wheel. I'll take the cell users any day, if i had to pick. Response reaction time with a cell user if faster also, as far as reaction to hitting the brakes, staying in lane, not seeing double, respinding to distance. Both cause a serious issue on the roadways. Most people are not aware that Missouri has a limited no texting law on the books, since 2009. For now it includes commercial drivers, novice drivers. Also for drivers 21 and under. We are one of a dozen left that does not have a ban on all texting while driving. Fines need to be steep. Today while driving thru Springfield, i seen a total of 5 vehicles that had dogs in the front seat. Of those 2 were med. to large dogs, both on drivers laps.
