The better half and myself went out for the first time this year. Lets just say, weve had much better days.
Started off loading poles in the boat at 9am. While trying to "softly" bend a 7' rod into a 6 1/2' rod locker in the boat, i heard that dreaded "snap". Pulled it out, and broke the end 6" off. Loaded the rest of rods in the bed of the truck.
Got to Bolivar Landing, after planning to go to Eagle Rock, but got started late, then decided to head to Cedar Ridge on Stockton, but didnt. Unloaded boat in water, Mrs. parked the truck, got in at the dock, motored around the corner 1/2 mile to start fishing, and no rods. They were still in the bed of the truck.
Fire back up and got the ol' 50 Yammie screaming back to the ramp, Just happen to look down in the wate as we were going around a point, and seen very shallow water. About that same time, yep, prop was eatin up gravel bar. Trimmed up, neutral, and floated over. Fired it up and made it to the dock. Checked prop and all 3 fins have damage. She got the rods, and off we went fishing.
We fished for 4 hours. I got bite one time with no fish landed, and she got nothing. Water was really stained. We fished main lake points and went up the Pomme River. Threw Jerks, Jigs, Cranks, A-Rigs, nothing.
We did meet a guy in a green/white Champion. Pretty cool guy. I turned him onto this site. Hope he checks it out, as like I told him, lots of info, and great people here. I even mentioned the Sat. OA get-together.
O well, guess it beat working on a beautiful, 74 degree sunny day with my best friend.
