    MDC Rant

I agree with needing a fishing license, drivers license, etc. because you are on “public” waterways, roads, but to be watched on my own property. Naw

I will promise you that statement is 100% accurate.

    MDC Rant

But but.... The honest will do honest things, even without rules, regs, permits. Trust me, drive down my dirt road during rifle season, or the few days before, and the dis-honest are out. Take the money out of the equation “ie, the fed money” and there has to be a way around the farm tag issue. I can report my harvest, on my property, without the requirement of needing to involve the state, just as well as I can with the current ways. Im not anti-MDC, anti-Govment, etc. but do hate being “watched” by anyone.

    MDC Rant

Sorry guys, little bored this evening, so my thoughts are coming out. As I pulled out of my driveway today, I watched 6 deer eating under an oak tree. My thoughts turned to: Ready for the rant part? So, when a person buys property, they pay taxes on that land, interest on the loan, money to maintain that property, insurance, and those are the basics. Add to that list any food plots, pond building, cleanup, etc. and a person will have a lot of money invested, all while paying taxes on everything purchased to maintain/grow that property. Currently the property owner has the opportunity to receive farm tags, thru the agency that controls, slaughters, maintains the deer herd in the state. In order to receive those tags, the property owner has to give a name, address, property size to receive them. So if I own the property, build/plant/grow food on my property, to attract wild animals to it, why does the MDC need my personal info? Other than to track land owners, individuals, I cannot think of a reason they need it, nor a reason a property owner needs tags. Simply set a harvest limit, and let the honest landowners abide by those, without the feeling of being “watched”.
  5. Tho I’m a believer in what the conservation dept. does as a whole, I’m also of the mindset that they are out to protect the money that is dumped into the state by hunters, and will say/do whatever it takes to protect that, even at the cost of dooping people into believing their agenda. The price the Missouri deer herd is paying, at the hands of the MDC, slaughtering thousands, just to hopefully get a few that are CWD prone, is saddening.
  6. Well crud. Was going to order that 2300s off Amazon as it’s cheaper than anywhere, but wanting something I can keep due to being happy with it. Watched a few other videos of it this morning, and most like it for competition shooting. That at should be a good shooter. The camo is catchy. Im game anytime for a shoot. I will bring food if we do a cook also.
  7. Looks like someone has listened to Teds video before 397 Posted April 7, 2018 Scrapie infected sheep kept in the same pen with deer that were later released to wild again with CWD? Guess by strictest definition not man made but it did not happen in nature. I really think it is antlers more than venison with the money people. Rules and laws about interstate movement has never deterred the transport of exotic animals why would it stop captive deer being smuggled around? We are always going to have the CWD or the threat of it, until research develops a remedy. I heard a tale of three herds of goats getting sick and the remnants of all three herds being shipped to meat markets on yonder coasts. The symptoms were of scrapie and I saw deer in that immediate vicinity with like symptoms, no reports made of the goats and I had no samples of the deer, so that area remains "clean".
  8. Nope. Ol’ Ted has always said he was one of the few that stirred clear of drugs. He is an amped up guy for sure, but I like the guy.
  9. I looked at that one, as well as the RWS LP8 as well as the Hatsan 25. I watched a video of the Crossman 2300S and looks like a good shooter, to the point im leaning towards it. I know you were running skeered after you mentioned a friendly shoot day last year, loser buying pizza, If you set a date for this year, i will get that bought and start shootin again.
  10. Did I read that correctly? I go away for 8 months or so, and come back to see you saying “god bless”?
  11. Wish i could say the same. They have been stowed away in the closet for awhile. Had planned to do a little squirrel hunting myself, but haven’t made it out. I keep looking pretty hard at a pistol. With so many options I have no clue where to start.
  12. Wrench, hows the gunning going?
  13. Thanks Daryk. It has been awhile. Got away from fishing last year, to focus on other hobbies. I seem to do this every few years, as i get burned out. The Harley will get most of my free time again this year, but hoping to fish atleast our monthly club tournaments.
  14. Was there last year. Spent a few dollars on auction. Great cause.
  15. Hey guys. Was at Cox South yesterday and seen a group of guys carrying in tackle. Anyone know what that was about? Group of 8 guys or so, with several rods/tackle.
  16. Haha. My daughter is a nurse there. How was the night bite?
  17. does she work for CMH Scott?
  18. It was on Tablerock. HOT, rough, and lighter wallet. We had the bites, but executing was lacking. Anyone that fished a big flutter spoon much knows your going to lose fish, and that we did. Lost 5 keepers pretty close to the boat when they would jump and the spoon would go flying aarchdale here had a great tournament spooin docks as well with over 17 pounds
  19. Planned on it this morning until trailer tire decided to blow. Took the want out if it at 3am. Was pre-fishing for a tourney tomo. so i will be out there tomo. heat or cold.
  20. haha. Theres fish biting over there on that point, 300 yards away.
  21. Goodys is a very popular place. Great people and area of the lake. I think you will be just fine there, and i believe that have full hookups.
  22. Challenge is available for anyone Scott. Im always up for it. If you got something in mind, let me know.
  23. Voltmeter? Integrated into the boat? I just replace the batteries every 2 years. Poor guy could have fished several tournamets, and hauled alot of fish around, for that amount of money. 😜
  24. Gotcha. Thought maybe you found Manatee here and was holding out sharing the info.
  25. With that sign connected to your post, im assuming your referencing rules from Florida, or another tidal state.
