Nice fish. Wife looks like sister...or is that sister looks like wife's? ?
  3. Thanks guys. I was one of my better outings as far as numbers and quality. Love this time of year. Haha m&m.... I'm sure on my next skunked day of fishing I will regret those words. Cheese, between spending last week on Grand, and TR on a free day today. I haven't had a chance to get to Taney. Tomorrow my plan is to try my luck, BUT, it's hard to not fish TR when the Aunts Creek area is producing good fish now. Guess I will decide when I hook the boat up in the morning. Marcus, if ya need any current info, I will help out as much as possible. Its a a great time to be on the water guys. Hope everyone makes the best of it and catches some nice fish.
  4. Either of the places you mentioned are good choices. The Aunts Creek area ramp is good also. "Read my post I just made". Good luck on your trip.
  5. Launched at 7:30am and fished til 3:00. Water color is looking pretty good. Water temps 58 to 60. Very slight breeze. Purchased a new Pflueger spinning combo last night due to me loosing my Shimano up the James. Decided to throw the Ned all day. Started out throwing 20 degree banks in 10 FOW and fan casting to locate fish. After a few casts I had them dialed in. The majority of the K's came on chunk rock banks from 1' to 8' of water with the biggest being 3.2 lbs. Pulled up on a point and caught 7 smallies all in the 13" range. After catching over 30 fish, and getting a little bored, I decided to try for some toothy critters trolling a #7 Flicker Shad. Kept the boat in 15 to 18 FOW. Within the first 100 yards I had landed 4 K's between 12" and 17". Shot across to a long gravel point and instantly felt the tug of a nice fish. Had about 100' of line out. Looking back as I reeled in I seen a nice bass go airborn. Stood up and watched her air show 1/2 dozen times before I got her to the boat. No phone to take pictures so I stuck her on my digital scale. 5.42 pounds. Stuck her in the livewell along with the 3.2 to tak pictures once I got back to the truck. Continued trolling for another hour catching several more K's and smallies in that 15' to 20' of water. What this trip showed me was that there are lots of fish still in that deeper water. I was surprised at the number of bass I caught trolling. Never caught anything but bass. After getting to the truck, I realized I must have left my phone at home. Released fish and headed home. Very productive day.
  6. Houston Tx. Got the bid for the next Classic, held March 24-26 on Lake Conroe. Should be a great event and weather.
  7. I agree, good luck trying to get a company that cares only about making money, to change something that does not benefit them at all. Good idea tho.
  8. There's a thread on LOZ I believe where others are talking about things like the statement above. If someone is on a spot you want to fish, best advice is to go find another spot.
  9. This is my choice. If you go up the James, you may just find one in 8' of water that I lost last week.
  10. Dang Jason, how many accounts you have on here?
  11. Not to late. Stay in that depth range you caught the others in, and you will be fine for another few weeks.
  12. Nowadays you can get shot sitting in your recliner typing on OA forum.
  13. In a typical year they will go further up the rivers to spawn. Now that the days are getting longer, that will trigger the fish more than water temps.
  14. Great pictures Phil.
  15. We fished that area a few days ago and caught them up close to shore on one side, and backed out on the other in 8 FOW throwing a 1/4 ounce rattle trap and did pretty well. Chrome with blue back worked better than the painted traps.
  16. Thanks Quill. I'm going to try Thur. Evening out of KC and test my skills on this spinnerbait bite I've read about. Love throwing it and finding where the aggressive fish are.
  17. Nice fish guys. Get a weight on it? My guess is just on the plus of 5
  18. That option we all have of firing up the outboard, trimming it up, turn to leave that area "if it's pointed directly at their boat, oh well" and take off to get to the next cove. Sometimes we can't help that the motor throws a large volume of water as we leave and forget to trim the motor down first. Yep it works.
  19. Nice fish. Last summer/fall the youngin' and I spent several days "evenings weekday and mornings weekends" trolling around the Point 10 area where he likes to fish. We were trolling #5 and #7 Flicker Shads and caught more walleye in the 10" to 16" inch than we have in the past 2 years. TR has a decent population in most areas as I've caught them trolling almost everywhere I've used the Flicker. Now Stockton Lake, that's a different story. We can catch them on Stockton almost every time we try, and their nice eating sized fish.

I'm one of those numbers guys also. I would rather catch 20 sub-keepers than 1 keeper on any given day. Just makes the time on the water so much more enjoyable for myself, spouse, and kids. Now during tourney time, give me that 1 keeper anyday. I do keep track of my numbers "total fish caught" each outing until the next outing. Just been doing it so long I can't help it.
  21. Nice fishing. It always takes my mojo away when my first spot of the day is covered with a boat.. Those are some healthy fish. Pomme is a hidden gem for large fish for a lot of people. As I've stated before, I've been informed by a Conservation agent that Pomme has the largest pound per fish of any of the local lakes, including TR. Love the lake and have fished it hard the past 20 years.
  22. Good job CM, no spinnerbait action?
  23. Welcome K, I don't fish for the whiskers much on TR, but I know it is loaded with them. Here's a good thread I found here for ya. Good luck.

Good job D. That's always bette than getting skunked. Usually as the sun warms the shallows, the afternoon bite will be closer to shore, and the early morning bite backed off due to water cooling during the night this time of year. Nice catch.
  25. Phil, While searching the web for a resort to stay I came across a Red 11 Port just outside of Grove. Didn't look like what we wanted so I assume if it's the same place then it's still around. They said the lake came above the dam twice this year, so flooding, and mold are still issues there. But you have seen some of that at your location recently. The place we stayed was on a point up high. Beautiful views from that area.
