Fishing had been tough today. Caught a few small stockers and had 2 decent fish hooked, but came unbuttoned... Fishing rebar hole on the fly rod since the waters off. Seen some rainbows floating too so won't be allot of pics as I'm concerned DO is getting low. Hopefully it picks up, I'm going back to jigging for the afternoon. 1/32 sculpin orange head.

Back again to my favorite place. This is my place holder for a jam packed weekend of fish till we drop. FmcBrandon is along for this crazy adventure trip. We hope to get into some this weekend as we fish day and night. Late start for me this evening, but I'll be feet wet here in a few minutes, and hopefully can land a few this evening. Game on!

Phil, you going to bring the Drone up there? Can't wait to see the Pics and hopefully some vid of you guys slaying them.

I watched a bunch of ladyfish and a few macks ripping through a bait ball of cigar minnows from a pier once in Destin. Amazing to watch. This reminded me of that. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the update Phil. Hope the DO isn't too bad...

HAHA, Great minds and all of that... LOL

Wow! Those 2 bruisers had some shoulders on them. Is that pretty recent footage? Looks like its time to install a plexiglass floor in the office with a trap door to jig from ! I'd never accomplish anything if I could watch a trout stream under my desk all day LOL. Some really cool footage there.

Been researching getting into archery hunting, and now I have allot more to learn. Had a really nasty shoulder injury when I was a kid due to a bad car accident that left me with a compromised rotator cuff . Its left me with limited range of motion, the ability to only throw 3/4 side arm growing up, and one of the ugliest fly rod casts you'll ever see. I could draw a traditional bow, but had allot of discomfort on the hold... I'm pretty sure I could of received the Dr.'s pass to hunt with a crossbow, but never went through the leg work to do it. This past firearms season my buddy had his crossbow out the day before opening day and it gave me the itch to start looking into it. My wife surprised me Friday when she got home from her girls shopping adventures. I was looking at a few different models and this one was on sale at Dick's. It's a Barnett DOA model 375fps and 175lb pull. I know they mark up their stuff a bit so the %50 off tag is likely more like 20-25% off, but it should make a great starter xbow for me. Didn't really need another hobby, but this will get me some more time in the woods to chase deer and turkey around my crazy life schedule.

Looks like they are running water pretty consistently at the half to 1 unit mark? Maybe this windy rainy weather will get it flipped over before we get down later this week.
-
Noticed they've been generating more than what we we're used to seeing after last trip down. Phil mentioned in his one cast that the water color changed too? Did TR turn over? Anyone been fishing? Heading down weekend after next, hopefully we won't run into DO issues.

Nice shot. Last day of rifle season and I'm stuck at work... Going to dust off the ol Ruger and try to get one with the pistol in a few weeks.

That first doe looks really big, might just be the angle. You hunting up north? Nice job on the tag fillage.

My Dad's a Navy vet, served during Vietnam, and was down in Branson for Veteran's day. A couple cool things happened I wanted to share. First they were out having breakfast at the pancake house up on the strip. There were 6 of them in their party and a younger couple with kids paid for the whole tables meal, as they were leaving. They tried to say thank you but they were already gone... Also dad and mom were down on the landing at Buffalo wild wings and pops was having a beer. He said he got down to an empty glass and a fresh one showed up courtesy of another bar patron who had also left. Some really great people still out there in the world. Made Dad's weekend... So on the small chance any board members here were responsible for these acts Thank You! And God Bless all our Veterans.

My Grandfather was a waist gunner on a B17. Wish he would of stuck around longer with us so I could grow up and really talk to him about it. Have a ton of pictures though. Wife's grandfather was in 101st during D day. He never talked about it she said and I unfortunately never got to meet him before he died. They do have his letters home, and also some german medals and insignia that I assumed they took off the dead officers. I need to get some good photos of them and look them up.

fmcbrandon and I are working on schedules... I'll have an answer here shortly. Right now we wouldn't be down until Friday late afternoon or evening and would need to leave out early Sunday if we do come down.

It's Finally Time! TR placeholder for the week
JestersHK replied to JestersHK's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Grabbed a few stills from my go pro, a few showing the girth of the chunky football I caught. I'll get the video chopped and up on the youtube at some point. Also added a cool underwater shot from outlet 1 showing some swimming around... -

My time is up... I am back home... Already missing it. Last night was again more smaller fish, and 2 that were pretty decent. Sorry for all the net pics, night time, cold, and hands were full Fished rebar again as I'm familiar with that area at night and I was flying solo again. Checked out the outlets one last time to look for sea monsters, but didn't see anything too crazy. Thanks again Phil for the great reports leading up to this trip, and for Friday! I truly love this place and we are blessed with an amazing fishery for sure. -
I'm a super proud dad this morning. Took my 11yr old down to the rebar hole. She's never used a fly rod so I tried to give her the basics. Did some practice casting and then moved up into the shallow riffles. We watched some fish moving upstream and I had her begin trying to sight cast to them. After a few tries she finally hooked up! She only caught one more before the horn blew, but it was a bit bigger and have her a good fight. I took her up to the outlets and let her get a few more before we had to go back up. Guess I'm buying her a fly rod now
