  1. FshnDoug is not coming for sure. Haven't heard back yet from his buddy but I'll let ya know QB as soon as I hear.
  2. We'll grab some 2 liters and a couple cases of water.
  3. I'll try to call Doug today. I talked to him on Friday and he didn't think he was gonna make it. I'll text or call Jeremy his buddy too and check on his status.
  4. I need to learn that method LOL. I bet it kept his undies clean instead of realizing he had a Behemoth sea monster hooked up
  5. I started getting texts as soon as word got out that a monster had been caught... For me at least I was super excited and couldn't wait to get all of the details. Myself personally I am looking for state or world record fish every single time I go to Taney or the White. I enjoy catching trout, but I enjoy hunting for big fish even more. When Brandon and I caught our big brown this past December I have no regrets with only having a few pretty crappy pictures and not any official weight as it meant we got her back in the water quickly and she swam off strong. I did upgrade my digital scale, measuring tape, and net for next time however Now she also wasn't a state record and honestly if I hooked a potential record fish at night when we are mostly chasing big fish, I'm not sure how that would work out with most of the world sleeping. I think I'd get the best measurements and weigh it as best I could and then have an "unofficial" record if it meant I could release it unharmed. I'm hunting them for my self satisfaction, and could live life happy knowing what I accomplished and having a wicked replica mount made. Then again I also see laker67's point in having it validated. I'd likely have to go with whatever my heart told me to do at the time. I know that last big one I caught I was a nervous nelly about getting the rainbow out of her gullet safely, and then getting her back into deeper moving water... I will say Paul's circumstances are very remarkable, that he almost has a full documentary of the entire ordeal captured. That is so awesome as he will be able to go back and enjoy that over and over, and then know his fish is still alive out there waiting to be caught again. I know for me when I'm having a crappy day I'll go back and look at pics of our catch and relive the story and it always makes me feel better LOL. But he's got the whole thing recorded in video to watch! A very neat and unique experience. As others have said before, hats off to all who made this story remarkable. The handling as Seth stated was top notch. In some weird way I think those involved share that same connection to the fish as I do. We spend allot of our lives chasing them, but when we finally catch them we give them the utmost care so that others can hopefully enjoy them through catching them as well. Truly special fishery and community we have here... Overall the best story of 2019 so far!
  6. I remember Seth telling me that story shortly after the RAW tourney. I bet he's been hooked a few times in his life. I hope one day I can get a hook in him too! Maybe in a few years.
  7. Me too... Prayers out from me and my clan.
  8. GunBroker.com can give you some comparative pricing. Maybe try to find a shop that will let you still them on consignment...
  9. That's awful... 2 more years before I have to deal with teenage driver... It terrifies me.
  10. Took this last September. I'll have to try and compare the markings, but think that's him
  11. Yep, Duane told me he swam off strong. Not sure if Paul is on here, but Ryan if you see him again tell him congrats on an amazing catch. Can only imagine that was a long 20min Battle. Thanks for all of you guys who helped keep him alive. Them say thar be sea monsters in the deep!
  12. Awesome. I hope he makes it
  13. Nice Bret! Way to brave the elements. Can't catch em from the couch I always say. Caught some trout once when the sleet started coming down before with @Seth I think they like the cruddy weather LOL
  14. I fished back there a bit but only had one bite. Water was dirty though. Was weird though that when Duane and I went through there by boat there were fish all over the place.
  15. Very nice and helpful of you. Thanks for the detailed report. I'm sure it will create success out there for others.
  16. You better super glue your finger tips going after those jacks! I fought them on heavy tackle and they weren't no joke.
  17. You know what happened last time lol. I'll be taking it easy on this trip. No marathon nights if I'm gonna be in a boat all day the next day. That is unless there's a red hot bite then all bets are off lol
  18. Awesome info guys. Will def be careful and we'll be using buddy right next to us system for sure as we learn new water. Mike we'll get ya all set up. Got plenty of jerkbaits too. I'll bring a few extra headlamps too. I poked around the boat launch at cotter before too with BH, but didn't Wade out much. Water was up that day.
  19. Ok gang, We are a week out and I'm trying to study and get my homework done... I just read through the 5 pager tacked up top on minimum flow and all that. Looking at the current generation pattern it looks like they have been shutting down to min flows at night so I'm hoping thats good news for us guys that are nocturnal and wanting to try and work some brownies over during the other half of the day next weekend. 680cfs seems the average? That to me sounds like where we want to be at for wading? Whats max CFS before wading would be a bad idea? I guess it depends how far downstream too. Just trying to playbook it here. My question is I've only fished a few areas on the white and I'm looking for recommendations on where to start out at. We did wade fish by the Dam one day with @WoundedOne and @Johnsfolly and BH, and I think I have enough bearings in that area I would consider hitting it at night time. Are there any other areas we should check out as well? Any other accesses which might be more friendly to a bunch of non natives wandering around at night in the water? I'm thinking gravel bottom versus sliding all over bedrock and shoals with big holes behind them... Hoping to get down Thursday early enough to scout in daylight, but may head to the Dam to start out with if that doesn't pan out. Also do we get any warning when generation kicks on? As much as my heart and underoos could live with out a horn going off in the dead of night like on Taney I def want to be safe and prefer to keep said underoos dry... Any help or info is appreciated fellas!
  20. Thanks Ham, I know the flow patterns on Taney and where I can and cannot go wading based off of CFS but clueless to what anything means down there... I'll be looking for some input, but with the semi warm weather I would like to get out at least one of the nights and do some exploring. Even if its mostly bank fishing I can adjust to that too.
  21. Shoot thats about what time we'll be rolling in LOL... If the stars will align!
  22. Hows that foot doing buddy? Hopefully wifes feeling better. Need another ride in that fishing yacht of yours with all the bells and whistles. Hopefully Jeremy can keep his rods together this time if you boys can make it
  23. Yep gonna miss ya Rick, but we all hope you get to feeling better. Marty not sure who Lostbear is but by that menu he's ok in my book LOL Wife's gonna make us a cheescake, some muffins for quick breakfast food, and I think I'm gonna do a big pot of chicken and dumplins. Brandons gonna make some chili I believe and Geno my BIL is gonna stock us up on whatever we need from the grocery store LOL. Cookin ain't his thing Haha. I'm pretty sure we won't starve... I'll likely pack on about 5 pounds like last trip! Oh and Marty I got plenty of Monster and Redbull ready to go! #sleepsoverrated #nighttimemonsterhunting
  24. Working on figuring out my Thursday with the boys. May try to get down with some daylight if anyone thinks you will be fishing Thursday afternoon. We were thinking of maybe scoping out up by the Dam so we can go back out after dinner and socializing for some night action if its wadeable depending on flows. 8 more days!!! Getting jazzed up already.
  25. These weekends sure have been rough weather wise... I ended up playing hookey on a monday to get out and hit some water. This up and down 60 degree then snow, then snow then, 50 degree crap is dumb... 8 more days till Jigfest. Still up in the air on whether we get a massive snow and ice storm or if I'll be fishing in short sleeves.
