  1. Man thats a dose of double suck right there... If you know any Paramedics a syringe of lidocaine in the hook kit helps too! LOL
  2. Forgot to add a few pics from Saturday. We were fishing up by outlet one. My wife landed her first flyrod trout too, but it was on a cheater pellet LOL. She has zero interest in fishing, but she supports my crazy addiction and I knew I could get her hooked up easy... There were a ton of fish up that way once they started generation and we were messing around in the piles of fish up there. Hats off to Doug for helping a younger kiddo get setup and onto catching fish too. He had some smiles once he started catching a few. After a bit of that myself and one of @fshndoug's friends Jeremy slid over under the big tree and we were watching trout slurping bugs off top whenever the wind would blow. Tied on a big pattern and caught a few during the day on top. Was super fun watching them come up for the take. Topwater is awesome when they are active. Caught a few trees too but the pattern in the pic was hot.
  3. Looks like a great evening out on the water for you two! Way to go Liv on beating your dad... Again...
  4. Buddy you ain't lying LOL. I did at least hook into a solid one this weekend... Wish I could of gotten that one in. Probably would of been my new PB. I did see a guy catch a 26in Brown out of outlet 1. Helped him revive it too as I think they had it out of the water too long getting measurements and he was in bad shape... Spent a good hour getting the fish revived ( Thanks Duane for the tip!), but it was worth it to watch him swim off. CLoyd and I did see a big dead brown down by rebar though... Sucks as he was at least 24. There are def some big fish up in the trophy area. Not just big browns, but some beast rainbows are up there too. Refreshing to see as I haven't seen the big ones like I have in years past till this weekend. I will say this was one of the most crowded weekends I've seen up there. Especially at night... Never seen so many lights out on the water. Fishing out of Doug's boat we didn't even go up to Rebar as there were a ton of anglers in the water all over the place. Daytime was packed as well but expect that with the nice weekend and weather.
  5. Ahhh gotcha. Brain still mush... need sleep lol
  6. That's awesome guys! Congrats on the win buddy. Good on you Marty for doing this contest!
  7. Agree with John, sounds like some great fishing memories were made!
  8. Well I made it back home. Finished last night with CLoyd and it was tough fishing for me anyways. I threw stick baits and nothing else. We started by outlet 2 then moved up to the cable, then went down past rebar. I had a few hooked that came off, a few good hits that just didn't hook up, and a real solid rainbow was it for me. CLoyd had better luck on his flyrod, but all together a slow night for us anyways. Overall was an average trip for me. Caught fish, but no monsters for me. That fish on the first morning is still haunting me... I did get to meet 2 more forum folks and make some new fishing buddies. Thanks a lot @fshndoug and @CLoyd it was a pleasure fishing with both of you, and always good to put a name to a face.
  9. So fished till 230 out of fshndoug's stealth craft last night. I fished mostly jigs and jerk baits. We had a decent night. Fish were not on fire, but had good company. I'll do another entry for today and this afternoon in a bit.
  10. The sculpin is rocking it this weekend. Still holding out for a big one, but the rainbows are just flat out hammering it. Duane for when the water is off the first rainbow bait size you gave me needs the sculpin treatment me thinks for whatever that's worth ( maybe not much lol). The one with the hump back. It runs allot shallower than the sculpin which I think was the 630 model. I will say after using these lures it's gonna be a while before I go back to rappalas. These lures are made well and the bills are just flat out tough. I bounced the sculpin one all day today off the bottom and lots of rocks and it just keeps going. Oh and you better scratch my name of that list lol. If I win in just gonna draw sometimes name to share the love. My catch ratio for certain has gone up since you got me setup. I dare say they are surpassing my old faithful white husky jerk. Just one more of your mad skills that I am envious of buddy!
  11. Hey if you are around tonight I'll shoot ya a PM with my number if you'd like to meet up. Sorry buddy... I still owe you a brownie... Duane's sculpin pattern is money!
  12. Caught one more decent rainbow, and a little brownie on the fly rod. I hooked a big trout on a white jig this morning. Jumped completely out of the water twice. I'd say easy over 24 25 inches. Came unbottoned...
  13. Another solid bow to start the morning.
  14. Calling it early tonight... between work today and the fog coming down I'm beat. Ended the night on a good note with a solid bow. Just down from outlet 2 he hit a Duane special rainbow pattern like a missile on a slow retrieve. Was lucky enough a fellow angler snapped a pic for me before release. Gonna hit it early at dawn tomorrow, but gonna grab a few hours of sleep...
  15. 3 bows on first 6 or 7 casts... 4th one came unbuttoned. Hope it stays like this all night... Starting up at the cable. All caught on the Doty OS#3
  16. Finally made it down. Some wicked for on 44. Went from 60 degrees when we got to Sullivan to over 70 here now. Wild weather...
  17. My usual placeholder. Super excited for whatever this weekend blesses me with! Should be down tonight at some point. Sorry @CLoyd as we kind of hijacked your other post. Figured I'd get this one started. fshndoug and I are going to try to meet up this evening at some point. Wife's with me this weekend so will not be marathon fishing, but she knows better too LOL. If anybody is out and about down there just shoot me a PM if you'd like to meet up or join us. I'm the bald head, bearded ugly guy and will be in a silver Tahoe...
  18. That one has some shoulders on em T! What are they biting on? What time are you leaving today?
  19. @fshndoug Caught a nice one yesterday! Beautiful brownie. He's getting a head start on me before I can make it down tonight LOL. Hopefully he doesn't wear them all out!
  20. You know it buddy! I was fishing a @BilletHead original in the pond the other day too... I figured you didn't bless me with them to sit in a box and look pretty! (although they sure do look pretty ) Hopefully I can get the pics uploading tonight of that one sore mouthing some trout. Not gonna lie I may get a bit teary eyed when I break one off though LOL.
  21. Me 3! LOL I'm thinking with the talents we have around here we could have a pretty sweet prize pool at Jigfest this year! Catching the biggest brownie or cutt and then having that come along with some hand crafted goodies would sweeten the pot. Wish I could contribute something cool... but nobody would want beatup water logged phones LOL I do have a certain Duck that was a tournament prize that I've put some thought around making into a travelling trophy! My buddy named it the suck duck though since that was what won it for me that day... I sucked...
  22. This one's gonna be hard at work here in about 12 hours buddy! Can't thank you enough for the hookup that morning. Don't think the ones I ordered are gonna make it here today in time to bring down to ya, but I'll be back in a few weeks again lol.
  23. Thanks for the info and testing @tjm Good info here and I like learning from you all. I have had mixed results with tippet from various manufacturers to the point I usually just throw 2lb ultragreen on there and call it a day... Will have to check out the RIO as its almost twice as strong with same diameter.
  24. Forecast has changed every day this past week while I've been checking. I've learned to just go with it and roll with it. With waders and a good rain jacket I'll fish until the lightning runs me off. Night time forecast looks great though with low wind and partly clear skies so far and a pretty fat moon which has always been a good sign for me. Moss should be cleared out with yesterdays heavy burst of water they pushed through. I look at it this way, what would I be doing if I didn't go fish? If that is more memorable than catching a big sea monster brownie I'll stay at home. <twist twist that arm> Me and fshndoug talked last night and got some game plans established. Shoot me a PM if ya make it down, and I'll send you my number over.
