Some very interesting viewpoints here. All I know is that buying ballistic plates for my daughters backpacks is a really crappy topic to talk to a 13, 9, and 6 year old... I've been exposed to some nastier parts of society working in the city as a teenager. Seen people get shot, car jacked , and robbed. It was at those impressionable teenage years I decided I would never be a victim. I try to impress that on my kiddos. To raise them to be respectful and polite, but also to never be a victim and have accountability for your actions. To fight with every ounce of strength they have if they are ever attacked or preyed upon. Values that are foreign and lost even amongst some of the kids they hang out with. There are some days I'd like to just stop the planet and get off... Talking to my girls about why a person would kill other kids and them processing that and watching the fear register of knowing they are not protected is one of those days. My oldest knows I carry, she knows I have AR's, she also is smart enough to know that I cannot always be there to lay my life down for them. That sucks as a parent... Not sure what the right answer is. Gun control Laws are laughable. There's something like 3 guns for every citizen in the US. Good luck keeping them out of the hands of nutters. And for those saying nobody needs an AR15 do you really trust in the government to protect you and your family 100% in a crisis? When civil unrest strikes are you prepared to be undergunned to defend getting your family to safety? Are you ready to be undergunned defending your life and property from looting and rioting? I wish I didn't have a need for having so many guns, but then again I promised myself I wouldn't be a victim...

We took the real nerdy talk to PM's. We'll get him figured out. Just got to find the gremlin causing the issue... @moguy1973 I wish it was his provider, but my laptop worked just fine on his network, which is why this ones a real bugger. -

Yeah thought it might be a dupe mac issue, but it checked out clear. Def like that though that his specific mac on those devices are being blocked... Busting out some wireshark tomorrow, and bringing in some more NERDS to look at it lol. -

@Seth So I ran over with Phil to Bill's on Sunday. He's got quite the pickle going on over there... I tried all of my usual tricks of the trade, but heres the kicker. My laptop works just fine over his network connection. His Laptop works fine over any network connection besides his. Tried multiple browsers, flushed DNS, nuked browser settings, checked IPsec settings, Driver settings, lmhosts mods, Firewall config, Internal router settings, the usuals... Going to bring in some network nerds with me and do a trace remotely today. Get another set of eyes on it, but its definitely a weird one... -
Alrighty, so back to work and finally have some time. Fishing this weekend was tough. Probably one of my toughest weekends down there that I've ever had. We caught fish although sometimes not the right ones we were looking for. It was also PACKED! Forgot it was a holiday weekend, and there were even folks fishing through the night with us which is pretty rare as we usually have the wee morning hours to ourselves. We did meet some guys one night from Springfield and fished with them for a bit. Forget the guys name on here, but always nice to meet other forum members. Thursday night we got an hour or so in before the rains hit. Tried to fish through the rain, but eventually got soaked through the layers and we called it to take a nap. Friday was a pretty decent day, not numbers wise, but we were catching enough that it kept us going through cold and lack of sleep. Saturday just flat whooped us... Morning was rough, but we finally got into some in the afternoon. We skipped the rain Saturday evening and grabbed a few hours of sleep, and went out that night after it stopped. Saturday night was flat out awful. We put in 4 hours with nothing to show for it. Thats a first for me... A humbling experience LOL. I never really picked up a consistent bite on the spinning rod or flyrod other than Saturday afternoon on brown scuds. Jig bite was almost non existent for us. I caught 2 whole trout on jigs, and a walleye and a carp. Thats it, and it was tough as I love fishing jigs. Same with Jerkbait bite, but really didn't have enough flow to fish them how I like to fish them. Overall I personally am not a fan of the flow they ran almost the entire weekend. It's just a weird water level down by the Dam, and made it tough for us anyways to actually find the fish. It does open up allot of water for wading, but combined with the pressure and weather I think it got fish in a funk where we were at anyways. Saturday night even the outlets were completely void of any fish. Haven't seen that in a long time as usually theres a few here and there, but didn't see a single one up there. No surface activity either. From what we heard it sounded like the fish moved down towards the narrows. We did not get a boat to join the weekend warriors, but we likely would of had better numbers if we had. Overall still a good weekend. We fish it hard as always since we try to maximize our windows of time that life allows us to come down. Just a little frustrating when we can't get the fish figured out.

I bet with the flow they were running folks might have said hey look water is on, but it wasnt enough to bring the lake level up? Dunno I don't boat enough down there... That and saw a ton of dangerous boating activity this weekend...

We made it back home safely. I'll throw up an after action report tomorrow. I'm going to bed lol.

Brandon caught the brown, but don't let the pics fool ya, we had to earn them today. Stinks you got skunked John... Was really slow till this afternoon. We just got back to our room to take a break... Caught a few on orange SJWs up top. We headed down to the channel by rebar, but man it was packed down here today. Started catching pretty consistently on brown Scud with a Scud dropper before we headed back. They are running a different flow that I'm not familiar with so we were working to find the fish that were hungry. Hopefully tonight is better. Will have to see what they do with generation.

A few more from today @duckydoty caught on Duane's jigs. Olive and ginger with a brown head. Brandon got a few on the fly rod at the kiddie pool lol. Pretty fish though.

All catch and release. We even let the walleye go.

Well I guess we're a bunch of wimps... Calling it quits before the rain even starts. I think we did fish 20 out of 24 today... Was super slow this evening for both of us. I caught the Walter early then beat the water mercilessly in vain. Brandon hooked a sea monster which turned out to be another big carp. One of these days it's going to finally be a trout. Gonna ride out the rain storm tomorrow... Gonna get some loot from Phil's and Bass pro in the morning and hopefully it's done by the afternoon. Here's his massive brown

Yessir, and muffins too. I even brought some death wish coffee to keep us going... On to fishing though... More stinking Walters lol

Haha, now it's time for BH's spirit animal to shine down on me. God bless my awesome wife for making us homemade lasagna. Just finished up dinner we're heading back out before the rains get here. Don't worry BH Bill's in the schedule for tomorrow!

BH I still have the chase which I hope never goes away. John we are in a similar weather pattern here. Hope you catch a big one. Ok to update number 1. I got down shortly after midnight. Rain all the way down till I hit Springfield... Yuck... We made it safe though and that's all that matters. Brandon beat me down and caught some right off the bat. As soon as I got waders on the wind and rain started. 2nd cast up by dam on the stick bait though gave me a stocker silver bullet. After that it really started a down pour. We went back up to get our rain gear and went down by outlet 2. Zip nada nothing lol. We finally called it. Just got to our place to dry out. Rain supposed to stop at 6 so we're gonna take a quick old man nap and hit it in a few hours. Stressful driving takes it out of ya...

Man looks like we're gonna be cold and we this weekend... Let's hope the fish make up for it! At least it won't be as cold as jig fest lol

I guess I'm just hard headed, but I use that Palomar now for just about everything except line to line. I've got to where I can mod it for droppers, use it on all my salt water terminal tackle too.

Sorry for your loss. I like dogs better than most people... Even my daughter's current dog a little Chihuahua is glued to me at all times. Best little rescue dog ever. She's 8 now but it's gonna destroy my girls when we have to put her down. Don't forget cats too... I know most are jerks, but I lost mine this past Xmas Eve. She was 16 and the wife and I's first pet. My little girl before I had little girls. Died in my oldest daughters arms and I buried her in the snow the night before Christmas... That one still hurts.
