  1. I'm using a helix 7 DI on the bow and so far i like, i think i paid like 356.00 last year..still learning to use it's features....My next sonar will be either a helix 5 gps DI or helix 7 gps di for console.
  2. Good deal sore thumbs.... Im still working on my new tow vehicle and havent touched my boat and my parts are in...lol
  3. The 5.4:1 ora winch i bought you have to crank the heck out of it for crankbaits...i didnt realize there was that much difference between spin cast gear ratios and bait casters.
  4. I bought a new reel a few months back a bait caster 5.4:1 gear ratio and 22 inches per turn of handle, but it's 2 slow for crank baits, which i usually throw in a spinning reel with a 5.0:1 gear but 28 inch of line per turn of handle....my other baitcast reels are 7.1:1 which i feel is too fast...my other spinning reel is a 5.2:1 gear ratio.....would the 5.4:1 gear ratio be better suited for throwing jigs and such? What say you experts...lol
  5. I found one bad coil and i work on all my own stuff and im the type of guy if one is bad sooner or later others are to follow..im old school and i did get a pretty good price on them and they are suppose to be Mercury coils..and i do have a mercury factory manual...lol
  6. I totally understand that wrench...there where Yamaha and Suzuki dealers and shops that worked on them all over the place in Florida back then..1986 was the year i owned and all i ever did was water pump every year and 1 fuel pump in the 10 years owned it. On this 1995 135 merc i have now, seems im always working on it...now im putting all new coils on it and all new line bleeders, it is a carbed motor, im just glad it's not computerized...lol

  11. I guess i have been real lucky about retrieving my hung up lures..... i lost one wiggle wart but it was on the roof of a boat house that i couldnt reach and i have lost 2 ned's...seems every time i try the ned i loose it...lol

  13. I had to redo all my thru hull fittings pumps and hoses in my 1989 Champion...i now have a 750 gph auto bilge pump and a 1250 gph manual bilge pump installed...The auto is on a switch for auto or manual or off one of the first things i do is turn it on to auto.
