  1. It's not that big of a show, I think we will be doing good to have 10 people, 1/2 of which aren't floating, but I think it will be fun. Thank you though maybe next time
  2. I can pitch in some $ if need be
  3. No bbq good try, unless someone wants to volunteer for that.
  4. I figure 1 mph @ 4.25 miles maybe 4 or 5 hrs due to fishing. say we get started at 9 at the latest that makes the take out time 1 pm. @Terrierman might be able to make a better estimate. Meet time 7am hl kerr, unload, drive to cox memorial access galena, shuttle to the launch, start float at the latest 9am.
  5. The time is nearing so I need a count of who is going so I can get the shuttle service figured out. Nothing is set in stone, I would like this to be low pressure, and fun, so don't feel obligated. After going through the thread these are the possible members participating. JDmidwest, Flysmallie, Terrierman, Coldwater Fshr, billethead x2, Phil Lilley, Wounded one, Bass yakker, Mitch F, Yaknar, Dan Hufferd and Wife. So that's 13 If you would like to add or subtract from this list please let me know ASAP. Thank you. Hopefully there is still water in the river, it's been dry !
  6. Does that mean FFS will be cheaper
  7. If not you might try the welding store for some stainless tig fill it rod
  8. I have a 75hp like it, it works great !
  9. I wanted to fish spring river but every spot I went to had more than one person camping in their car or tent, times must be getting tough. Anyway put in on shoal creek went up river about 4 miles, beautiful day. Caught 4, 14+ and so many 10" 12" inches it was fun. Zman green pumpkin baby goat on a 1/16oz head was the ticket. I got the stink off my new Nico custom rod, I had a 5' med fast made just for the kayak. Me and this mink entertained each other for a while. https://fishingbooker.com/charters/view/36905
  10. I did it a couple time when I lived down there in a v bottom richline, I ran a lot of lines from that old boat.
  11. I'm not sure how to start a list of floaters/boaters whatever craft you like. As of now it will be Horse creek/HL Kerr to Galena Mo. 9/21/24 I would like to meet and have our boats unloaded around 7am at Kerr, then convoy to Galena where I will shuttle us back to Kerr. This will allow folks to move down the river at their own pace also eliminate any liability for someone else's boat. I think this would put us floating by 9 am, which seems plenty late to me, but I really don't care. And yes we will leave some at Kerr to watch our belongings while we shuttle. P.M. me if you think you might go and how many will be with you so I can make arrangements for the shuttle. I would rather over estimate than under. There will be not cost to anyone, other than what you bring, I won't be camping, I am open to suggestions. This is intended as a meet and greet. You never know what might happen, I'm betting on something good.
  12. This is going to sound simple and shallow, but I think it is gracious of this forum and it's administrator/s to allow us to post anything other than content pertaining to fishing, boating and the like. Everyone is different and we need to be. This forum is colored by the differences in all of us, but we have a responsibility to not provoke a fight. Some people just like to fight, If we fight with each other on here what do we win? Are we really going to change the opinion of a combatant, I think not. I would not want to be the guy who has to filter all this in order to keep it palatable. Also realize some people can use a forum to say things they would not say in person to someone else (not any of us, but other people). I like this place and the people I have met so far. I look forward to meeting more of you. That's my opinion, no one asked for.
  13. I'll set down tonight or tomorrow and figure that out. I realize too some folk might bring company.
  14. You have my number friend please keep me posted
  15. This looks interesting They built a couple hulls around this idea. Their videos are impressive
  16. Did you figure out what you wanted? Sorry if I highjacked your thread, I had the same questions.
  17. Would that be a 40/25 jet or 35/25 or whatever that figures out to be, or jet a 25 with a jet? Thanks
  18. I don't think they let people camp at horse creek anymore. My next day off I'll run down there and do a little recon' I have not been there in a while, so it will be good. I used to do some caving around there too. There are a couple neat ones near there.
  19. I want to buy a jet of some sort, or at least I think I do. I want mine to be light, so when I get it hung up I can get it loose by myself, overpowered or power to spare, and as bare bones and cost effective as possible. While those jet jons are super cool, I wonder how the pump maintenance is, I don't think they are made for sucking rocks, also the weight, are they heavy? They look like it. However I think the weight distribution would be great. If I do get a jet something I am leaning toward a tunnel hull, and outboard. I know this famous boat mechanic that says 30hp or better is what you want😁. So now I contrast that with a kayak trip (I going to be in the same water with this thing), Kayak or canoe are quiet, low budget no trailer required, although I have one, no numbers, no taxes. I don't don't know, is blowing up longer stretches of the river worth to me? That's what it really comes down to for me. One more thing, if you really follow some of these jet Jon builds almost all of them have trouble, mainly leaks, they most try to use the belly of the jet ski and motor mounts in the jonboat. I also thought why not just put some armour plating ( aluminum, plastic) on the jet ski and skip the whole boat build, they already have fishing jet ski's. Now someone make that and not give me any money 😁 I still don't know.
