  1. Well teaching myself how to catch winter crappie is going slow. I did find some nice brush piles. Then it all came together, I thought all right I have found them! This feeling of joy lasted for 2 fish in 35 feet of water, then nothing. I did find that if a person throws something that swims up on the bank you catch as many sub-legal bass as you want. It's a good life ! This post has been promoted to an article
  2. Thanks for the info. I would love to try Norfork again but the drive is long so I will wait until I hear of a good bite heating up. Thanks again
  3. I haven't found much but what I have found was over or near deep water, many suspended fish. Welcome
  4. Make an offer.
  5. I have an hds 5 gen 1 with gimbal, it works well. No tranducer or power cord. There is a very light scratch in the screen that you might be able to see in the photo, when it is on you cannot see it. It should be worth $100. Message me. We are near sarcoxie mo.
  6. Very nice ! Nice kill with the recurve too. I have some bluegill colored jerk baits I seldom use, I guess I will have to get them out.
  7. I figured that the fish would be hitting everything today. Sounds like you all got dinner anyway. That's good!
  8. That is the reason I use drop shot, it's like buck shot only different.
  9. Shoot not me. I have done a lot of things but accounting is one of those things I pay someone else to do. I like that you are looking for someone here.
  10. Can this person fish while working?
  11. Very nice !
  12. That was really cool. I would have dropped a spoon down there for sure !
  13. check this out, fast forward to about 4 minutes in keep watching the guy in the back of the boat.It was an accident, but goes with this topic.
  14. Berkley twitchtail. I will be trying minnows next time. Drop down into the busy areas then slow lift pause reel up a little etc.
  15. Red turns black in the clearest water at around 18 ft. The only visible colors in natural lighting at that depth and deeper are blue, yellow, and green. Even in clear water. The more stained the water the quicker the color goes. That is the way I understand it. So red line turns black, translucent red turns a grayish. Do the fish care...?
  16. I met a guy from your area today. From what he told me, I need to spend some time fishing near you. So I will be check it out sometime soon.😀
  17. Even after a 29 degree windy morning water temps north of 215 were still 57ish
  18. It's even more fun when the wind is blowing 15 mph and you are near a bluff ! Your thinking..now what?
  19. Nice, I couldn't get any takers trolling anything today. I needed to practice my winter crappie technique. I am not very good at it. Suspended fish are tough for me. I know that is where the big girls go. I just have to find them
  20. Nothing on the spoon. All caught with the dropshot 30 to 50+ feet of water. Note to self...use plenty of weight when windy so you don't wrap your line in the trolling motor.
  21. They will bend but I don't tend to do it. They spin really well. Binks has split rings and nice swivels already. I have put clear nail polish on them to protect the paint. I think a jigging a spoon might be the my favorite way to fish, but I am an opportunist, so if it works and it is relatively easy to try I am in..
  22. Bud and Gloria's Bait and tackle Carthage Mo.It has been a year or so but Bait Masters down by Aldrich Mo. stocked some.
  23. I have the expensive stuff...not. I use a 6' 6" medium action Berkley Lighting rod. Lews 200 or 300 spinning reel. Line is 10 lb Spiderwire Stealth Braid (the Stealth Braid is important, the regular spiderwire is junk). 10 even 20 lb fluorocarbon leader tied in with a double uni knot. In my opinion you need a fairly tough leader. Sometimes you get hung up, you want to get your spoon back. I am sure that this is bad, Binks has a real nice swivel, which I sometimes take off. What this does is put a twist in the braid , if I stop jigging, the spoon will still spin. I have actually got bit while the twist was coming out of the line. There you have it. Good luck ! P.S. I try to use a shorter lighter rod for the 1/4 oz spoons but not always, you will figure it out.
