  1. This is what I have found. Where you think there should be cover there usually is already some near there.
  2. I think the Masterbaiter had a truck or van too. Used to laugh about it. The theft thing drives me crazy. If you go on my place at night you will be met by a couple of rottweilers. Good luck they run 35 mph and can crack the back of an armadillo with one bite.
  3. I think we should get together for a couple "search and destroy" walleye trips. Bullshoals would be a good one to do that on. We could learn a lot in one day if we could spread out to find productive areas. Devils lake is out of my budget, but good luck. Can't wait for the pic's
  4. Great job, and pic's I have been out of town
  5. I am a little late with this, but to the creek and river floater be careful when approaching brush piles and banks. This snake was nearing it's shedding time and was defensive. A poorly placed a hand or foot would have made for a bad day. Picked up 34 mushrooms after the snake siting. That was a good thing !
  6. lmt out nice job I all most tried the bouncers out monday. Thanks for the report
  7. Holy cow ! really try hard to keep my boat clean but it does not look new, good but not new. I guess I would rather be fishing than cleaning. I wish I could be that meticulous. The ice in the worm box is the ticket for me too.
  8. Hello Phil,

I saw your Wednesday fishing report. I thought I might be able to help. A friend and I fish TR for crappie near Viola and found all they would bite on was a red head, blue body, white tail 1/16 oz marabou jig. I thew 1/2 of my tackle box at them, I caught 3 he caught over 50. I hope this helps. If you try it down there let me know if it works.

  9. I agree with vonreed, I would not make that spot public, or I will be fishing it. Good job !
  10. I was thinking that it might be fun to have a friendly walleye fishing get together with a few of the Stockton walleye fishing guys from OAF.

I don't know if I would call It a tournament, just maybe meet for breakfast fish a day. maybe meet again for supper. We could all compare notes and fish, size and quantity.

You are the 1st person that I have mentioned this to, what do you think?

I was thinking those of us would already share notes, maybe 6-10 boats??

I'm game for it.  My parents live in Mt. Vernon so I head there every so often.  This month I'm going to be booked starting next Wednesday (April 20th) though May 1st.  Once May hits I'll be very flexible the rest of the spring and summer.  I'll be taking sever one week trips to Stockton to fish the heck out of it.  Just give me heads up what others are doing.  It would be fun to divide and conquer the lake.

Sweet ! I will see what I can get going. I am very for the next two weeks. I am fishing Stockton today, and then I don't know when I will get back on it. Someone posted an 8 lb walleye catch from Stockton this weekend. That would be a wall hanger for me.

Get out there and get on them.  Largest I've pulled out of there was a 27 inch just north of the CC launch during the fall.  there are some big ones out there.  Good lunch and land some dandies.

  11. Nice job, young man I guess I will have to be asking you for fishing advice. Did you catch him on the flicker shad?
  12. I used to run with a guy from Billings named Craig Inman, every heard of him.

Wow well if anyone wants to know how he was when he was younger let me know. Sure wish I could do something. It has been a long time. I guess everything changes.

Maybe I'll see you on the water, I have church in the morning so I guess I'm signing off.

Thank you for filling me in,

      Dan

let's do it, I got pretty descent with the walleye too.

  13. It seems like mine will stay red for a while. If I could figure out how to go 10hrs that would be awesome. I thought about adding a battery. Here is the idea...have 2 hooked in series the add another parallel to the series. Would it still be 24v or would it just cook the 3rd battery? see my awesome drawing
  14. pretty cool cleaning station
  15. I have fished Stockton a bunch and never been checked. It wouldn't bother me at all. Some folks get pretty wound up about it. Thank you for the report !
  16. That is interesting I wonder what the numbers are like?? If it is standing still water I would try jigging a minnow or night crawler. They like shiny stuff. Are you fishing from a boat or bank? What a treasure to catch a walleye there, very cool !
  17. The only gripe I have with my MG is the fob, sure do wish they put all the motor read outs on it instead of the base. I fish in the back of the boat a lot so I hate checking to see if the motor is running or if the battery is low. Which brings me to a question, generally speaking, about how many hours of run time do you get with your MG 80. I know there are many variables. Let's say you are trolling the bank for crappie, troll and anchor, troll and anchor etc. How long would you be able to go. I can go around 5 hrs does that seem right? I feel Like that is pretty short. I had a smaller boat with a 40lb MK 12v I had 2 batteries wired parallel, I never ran out of power.
  18. Suns creek has got crappie all over it. I haven't seen it but a friend of mine has fished it. He said the fishing is good.

Table rock was good last week. My buddy and I caught 50+ with one 15" and 2lbs.

It was his spot on TR and he asked me to keep it on the down low.

He said no posting. If you want to keep stuff more private my email is danhufferd@gmail.com

I am kind of disappointed with some folks who found one of my creek fishing spots, I am sure if it was my fault. Maybe I am posting too much info.

  19. I have found that some flicker shad float and some sink. I have not found a designation on the package, maybe someone can help with that. One thing that works is trolling those things right up to the shallows or out from the shallow to the point you feel it hit bottom. Many times crossing a point and touching bottom will produce walleye. It is risky business so pay attention to the brush, one single tree limb can claim your $6 lure. Right now jigs are working around stick ups. Good luck you lots of great info here use it well !
  20. That is a rare thing for sure, what a great day!
  21. Check out some of my videos. They are done with a 20 dollar camera, like a gopo, but off brand. You can buy the camera and a bunch of accessories for around 50 dollars. Need more info let me know. I have a youtube channel under my name. It has been fun.
  22. If you ever catch one on a crank bait you will think you have the biggest fish in the lake. I caught a 10# drum last year. I was hoping for some wall hanger walleye but when it came up,,,just a dumb drum. I have made up my might to make cut bait out of the next one, they must be able to read your mind because I haven't caught one since
  23. I think this dude and his dog woody, possibly the camera man have been consuming the wrong kind of mushrooms and plants. There are truffle finding dogs, and I think pigs in Europe. So who knows. Just saying mushroom dog makes me laugh, I don't know why.
