Don't get discouraged, it takes a few to get it figured out. After fishing Stockton for a year I sold my little bass boat and bought a deep v with full windshields and a trolling motor with a spot lock feature. That way I can easily stay on those windy points (Hint) Now it is a lot more fun to not catch fish.

I know you are right, with the wind things could dry out quickly. Thanks for the complements.

I saw a family of otters this winter near R.Bluff west. I was at sunset, they were very vocal. It was really neat !

Walleye, was it in Missouri ? There's what I remember reading...something about some real nice bass and then 24" WALLEYE. Tell me more !

The spinner bait bite is great on spring river right now. Haven't tried it in the lake, for said reasons.

Shoot that boat should be cheap by now. We all have bad days (well maybe not that bad) they makes the good ones really good ! You will probably slay the fish next time out.

These were near one of my fish holes, looks like they are just getting started. I found these little dudes in just a few minutes. This is a new spot for me. Total 15 all the same size, small.

jtram,I used to fish that area, and many surrounding creeks, that pattern is always the same. Indian creek from Boulder city to McNatt was good fishing, not good floating. Little Sugar was good in spots too. There should be some mushrooms on the banks by now.

I understand the river code and lake code differences. I guess I can understand the boat ramp thing ie. where you put your boat in. To be honest I never really thought of the possibility of a violation until we all started looking into it. I always go with the lake laws and limits, because I will be back out in the lake at some point during my trip. No conflict for me. Not bragging, but my wife and I caught enough post spawn crappie last year, we set our own length limit of 12". Really it's about keeping more and better fish in OUR water. My motto is "When in doubt,chuck it out." I have really enjoyed learning how to catch walleye from Stockton, I would like to take as many home with me as the law will allow, but I equality want a large healthy population with the possibility of a wall hanger. I don't mind throwing some back. Maybe when I get good at it I will set my own walleye length limit at 20" who knows

MoPanfisher, I sure appreciate your input on this topic, it has been interesting. I don't think you all are splitting hairs at all. Back to walleye for a minute...some states get very picky about when to catch walleye in the river. And I am sure in the right situation a Missouri game warden would too. I haven't read it in awhile but once you are in the river you can only fish 1/2 hour after dark and a 1/2 hour before light, on the lake you can catch a spawning walleye all night.

You are in the next day so I say legal. Now that you have eight you are done until after the walleye dinner.

I hope everyone can understand my intent by asking this question. I want to understand the law better, so that I would not be in violation of it. Judging from all the different answers, asking this question may have helped more people than just myself. Thank you all very much !

That sounds like 75% of my fishing trips. It is easy to get goal oriented, like work. Just be glad you are able to get out on the water. I get mad too. Good read

Ok got it...eat faster. I guess possession limit is in place to inhibit the resale of fish?? So all of us that keep fish for the family fish fry are braking the law? That is stupid, let's vote it out.
