  1. They will hit a spoon, and you can get them up to the boat before they come unbuttoned. It's a hoot !
  2. I use those too, I like them
  3. I will sure enough, try to be wise. I had to reread this just so it would soak in (no pun intended). I love being on the water in the winter. It is all good until someone gets hurt. One year I fell into the creek with a deer as I was dragging it out of the woods. Already cold from being in the tree before dawn, and there was 4 inches of snow on the ground. I was 2 miles from my car. Knowing that I was in trouble, I left my deer and headed for the car and dry clothes. Once dry I retrieved my trophy. Getting dumped from a boat in the winter would be much worse. I still take much for granted. Thank you for the warning and advice.
  4. Remember this ? http://www.ozarksalive.com/remembering-chadwicks-historic-snake-hunts/
  5. That thing has some serious electronics! Nice !
  6. Oh my goodness, that's awesome !!
  7. The Stockton Lake length limit for walleye is 15" The Tablerock Lake length limit is 18".
  8. Thank you for the advice ! I have an Eastern Missouri river walleye trip floating around in my mind. I hope to pick your brain one more time, at some point around February or March if it is alright. I am a welder by trade I hope to soon fab a noninvasive hitch and a light kayak trailer for my small car. If it works maybe I can make one for a prius'
  9. I guess I need a bumper sticker that says something like " I drive this, so I have more gas for my truck and boat".😁
  10. Gills on the bottom, each is the size of a dinnerplate.
  11. I am ready to get the stink off this new kayak.
  12. There you are. When are we fishing together?
  13. While waiting on a replacement brake line for the old dodge, and jonesing for a fishing trip. I decided to whip up a kayak rack for my dayly driver. I went around the rear hatch hinges with a strap, then through the door with another. It's all coming back to me now....3 kids no money 1986 chevy cavalier wagon, one canoe. Good times ! There is really not and economical roof rack for a 2 door hatchback. Unless you call $400 a bargan. 2004 honda civic si ep3
  14. Very nice smallie ! This would have been a better video if not for the goofy narrator.
  15. Thanks every one. I figure if waders drown people it would not be good to have them near water at all (Joke) I have dropped enough jack on this fishing thing so my kayaking will be on the cheap, for a while. All this is good to know. You never know what might happen when you get all you need.
  16. Back in the day in my canoe, I would just cover one side of a coleman lantern with foil and bungee it to the bow. You could see for quite way. I am new to the kayak thing but I will be getting some lights, I have been looking. I wasn't the guy
  17. WOW ! Nice
  18. I was thinking that if I did get waders they would have to be pretty snug. I will just wear my froggtoggs for now, and move my drip rings. Thanks
  19. You did great, sounds like fun !
  20. Maiden voyage on Stockton pictures. I did get some water in my lap from the paddel, I am curious if anyone does and winter paddling and how they stay warm and dry, chest wadders, I guess??
  21. Mine is only 57 lbs. I am hoping to use it for some winter walleye jerk bait fishing ! I still have my old boat. I do not owe money on any of my play things so that makes it a happy experience for me.
  22. Not to plug a brand, but I felt like the vibe was a pretty go deal at the price point. The best thing that we did was a test drive, that made a huge impact on our decision. The brands with a reverse chine hull make a big difference in stablity.
