Was fishing the Cape Fair area last weekend. Nature was calling so I had to shore the boat. When I got out I couldn't help but see a wart laying on the bank. I casually picked it up thinking it was a new one, but to my surprise it was a pre rap wart. Its definately been in the water for awhile and needs new hooks, but seeing as this is the only pre rap wart I have ever had I was very excited! Nothing like finding some good extra lures on your day out.

I got into some crappie today as well. I also noticed they seemed pretty high in the column.

There is also one in bear den. But I highly doubt it is yours.

Sadly enough, your one short was better than I did on Saturday.

Put in around 8:30. Hit a couple points just down from the bridge. Threw a wart, jig, a small A-rig type bait, and the Ned just a little. Not a thing. Headed down around a little island and hit the points on it with a wart. Nothing. Fished across from the ramp with a wart and jig and still nothing. Finally went up from the bridge and hit one more point and a little into the cove. Not even a bite. As you can guess there were lots of boats out because of the weather. The only fish I saw anyone catch all day was one boat caught two crappie. Left around 2:00. Even though I ended up with no fish, I can't complain because it was still a gorgeous day. I plan on going out in the morning as well hopefully with a little better luck.

I don't have any sonar, but I did see a couple floaters in shallow water as well.

I do not have an A-rig, but I do have a BooYah Teaser, which is very similar to the A-rig but only has one hook on the rear, that I got from Mystery Tackle Box. I thought about giving it a shot.

I plan on putting in around the Bridgeport/Cape Fair area in the morning. I have grown up fishing small rivers mainly in just the summer time so I'm still pretty inexperienced at Table Rock. I have some ideas in mind, but I was looking for a couple tips for this weekend. (I'm not asking for anyone's deep dark secrets). It ran through my mind to try and fish some prespawn patterns. It it too early for this? Are the fish still deep or are they expected to start moving shallow soon? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

I'm looking to buy a new low end fish finder. Not looking for anything fancy, just something to put on a little jon boat. Anybody have any experience with the low end lowrance models such as the hook 4x? Or the humminbird 197c di?

While we're on the topic of old rods for ned rig, would an old light power do the trick? Or am I more suited with a m/l. I've never fished ned rig but I want to give it a shot after everything I've heard about it.
