  1. I don't know - I've met some nice folks fishing out of the back of their boat. Of course they weren't happy with the fact that I was kicking their butt.....
  2. The BFL Division of the FLW tournaments (Bass Fishing League) entry fee for the co-angler side is 100-bucks. The next one is Stockton lake. http://www.flwoutdoors.com/bassfishing/bfl/tournament/2011/6683/stockton-lake-details/ Another way to search for tournaments is to use the Missouri Water Patrol Regatta search for a certain lake. You have to file one of these for any tournament involving more than a couple of people. Regatta Search. Find a tournament, look it up on Google or whatever, and see if you can enter.
  3. You can always fish the co-anglers side of FLW or Central Pro-Am events. I have a boat and I still have fished the co-angler side.
  4. Nice. I love the North Fork.
  5. One that I consider a "must have" is the Bomber 4A in any bright color. Works great for me. Really any shallow to medium diving crank in a couple of colors is worth a try. What you decide to throw is also dictated by what type of rod/reel combo you plan to use - most smaller cranks don't weigh much and are harder to cast very far with casting gear.
  6. Yeah - my idiot neighbor doesn't understand why I don't like the fact that he spends half of his life fertilizing his lawn, then mowing it. I 'm sure half of the problem in the Finley is just him.
  7. You need to go throw some streamers for Browns or Whites then - certainly you don't Czech nymph every time do you? (I'm just razzing you - I'd put the winking smiley here but apparently we got new smileys - I have no idea what half of them are.)
  8. Most of the land above Crane is MDC property, not private, except for a tiny part where the big spring is at. Upstream from that there's very little water during dry periods. A piece of property a couple of miles up Crane from that spring wouldn't really be quiet as choice as one downstream from the town where the creek is bigger (and actually has water in it) now would it? Oh - and welcome to Ozarkanglers.com.
  9. This is simple: Is it downstream from the City of Crane, or not? If it is, there's Trout in it.
  10. I was over there for a couple of hours in the afternoon. I caught a couple of fish. Nothing huge.
  11. I hate to call B.S. on someone, but I doubt if KVD is using braid backing to save money on fluoro or mono. His sponsor's give him all he could want, or ever use. There's plenty of us here on this board that use mono as backing for braid, but I doubt if there's any doing the opposite.
  12. Downstream from the "Y" Bridge at Galena Table Rock Lake regulations are in effect, unless they've changed that, which I doubt.
  13. Hey - it's better than funeral season (unless you're Will Farrell.)
  14. Those are Zubaz, aren't they? You aren't wearing your "Three Wolf Moon" shirt with it to complete the look?
  15. Wedding season?
  16. The map is up now...Riverbassin' Map Looks like no upper CC or Buffalo. Huh?
  17. There's always a massive number of big Carp in Lake Springfield, and you only have to deal with semi-homeless fisherman at the spillway there instead of rent-a-cops.
  18. That's a good price.
  19. P-38's are very cool. My wife had a P5 (sort of the P-38's Grandkid - uses the same magazine) for her personal handgun for a long time before she went to a .357 revolver. If you don't mind saying - how much did you have to shell out?
  20. ...And as of 7:45 this morning it's still not up at the Fayetteville June 4 event page. They're working on it.
  21. I'd be up for one in the Springfield Metroplex area. Of course Lake Springfield and Fellows come to mind. The Hunter Thompson thing - you know it won't end well when someone's most iconic writing starts with "We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold".
  22. I passed the word along to Drew to get the map up of what the area the tournament will cover. Depending on what's O.K./off limits I may do this, too.
  23. Wow - that's overpriced. I need to start selling my jigs, but I'd feel guilty gouging people with prices like that.
  24. The ones I tie for Smallies are pretty big, actually. Tied on a #6 Tiemco 8089.
  25. Clouser minnows cover almost all of my mid-depth presentations, I tie foam and Deer-hair popper and sliders, and I have several deep leeches and whatnot. I'm surprised almost no one uses large Hopper or Cricket patterns for topwaters - one of my favorites to both tie and fish. I do have a couple I've kept secret - one's a fly-rod spinnerbait (seriously) and another is basically a fly-rod finesse jig.. I may send both of them off to that Fly tying contest - Maybe. I do like that coffee grinder - but I've always had a soft spot for fly-rod lures.
