  1. I agree... just jesting.
  2. Not up in my backyard!!
  3. A few years ago, I reported catching big crappie out of Long Creek and Gage's area. I had 4 spots and reported 3 of them. The next 2 weeks, I went fishing quite a few times and I did see the ramp parking fill up but my spots didn't have people on them. I continued to catch nice fish. Places like Beaver and Swan Creek and white bass- they will get crowded no matter what on weekends and nice days. K Dock ramp is the only ramp within, what, 10 miles of water or more? 15 miles? Even if there's 40 rigs at K plus whatever boats are out of the marina itself, that's not many rigs covering that much water. I think upper BS is still one of the best uncrowded water around. The diff is this year we'll catch some fish.... nice. Best thing- with all the great fishing everywhere - James, Long, Beaver, Swan, Kings, Sac and all the other white bass and crappie places I missed- it's going to take pressure off everywhere... spread out the love.
  4. BS- upper BS- seems to be a "private" spot for alot of people, more than most waters. But the fact is it's all public and news of hot fishing spots gets around on other forums, other internet fishing reports, magazines, radio and TV shows. Can't blame (or give credit) OA for all of it. On BS, as well as alot of our area lakes, fishing is going to be real good because of last years high water. I think there's enough room for everyone. Problem with upper BS there aren't enough ramps and parking to hosts all the people who want to fish and that's something you should take up with the Corp. But people will make a way if they want to go fishing bad enough. As for taking exception to anyone's report on this forum, may be you shouldn't read it. It absolutely amazes me when people get upset about a report, especially for a professional guide- he's giving out info he could keep to his self and charge people to catch these fish, not to mention the heat he takes from guides who don't share the passion he has for sharing with everyone his knowledge about fishing- in detail. By the way, In Fisherman called Bill the other day after reading his report and was all excited to hear about walleye being caught on BS in good numbers and size. They're going to print something in the next issue about BS's walleyes so I guess we'll have all those people from the north heading down to crowd up our ramps even more. It's such a terrible thing having such awesome fisheries right in our backyard!
  5. Check out articles on OA under Lake Taneycomo.
  6. I posted a short fishing report on a new forum I found on Field and Stream's site. http://www.fieldandstream.com/forums/fishi.../lake-taneycomo I couldn't figure out how to post an image. I'll post a more comprehensive report here later tonight.
  7. You need to call someone at the Star and tell them their fishing report blog Stinks!!! Text takes up NOTHING on the internet so why don't they give a better report??? I just tried to make a comment on this page- it limits the number of words, THEN asked me to remove the words "jig" and "jigs" ??? Crazy!! I'm going to drop Brent Frazee a email- but I don't see on their list of columnists... does he work for the Star anymore? http://www.kansascity.com/sports/outdoors/story/981930.html
  8. Did you read any of the comments? Not one pro PETA person. You'd think NPR would get it when all their readers, or 99%, think the story is absolutely ridicules... but may be that's why they posted it. Who knows.
  9. Windows Moviemaker or something like that. It should be on your computer if you have a PC and Windows.
  10. No- that's the only schedule speaking engagement in St Louis this year so far.
  11. I wouldn't think this cold spell could warm 43-45 degree water down to mid 30's that quick. These cold spells just aren't that long.
  12. Thanks for chiming in. I fished with a guy from Vermont once- John Merwin. he's writes for Field and Stream.
  13. Dang- the toilet is worth half that. It's what I have in AK.
  14. Sorry I missed ya... 8.5 - that places in most of our tournaments!!
  15. I'd think there should be fish at the pothole. If you know how to fish it... crappie, a few whites and walleye. May be even a striper. Guys have been catching crappie for a month around K Dock and nothing said on the forum about it. So same might be said for the Pothole. Go try it and get back to us.
  16. I don't think they know what they're going to do with it. But I'll ask someone who should know... just not sure he can tell me. We'll see.
  17. They are raising hellbenders at Shepherd of the Hills Hatchery. Got their stock from NF of the White.
  18. http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=177...mp;show_title=1
  19. St Louis County Parks does seminars during the summer. I think this is one of their first scheduled. 7:30 pm I think it's $7 to get in. And I don't think they turn anyone away- never have. I don't get paid for it. They would cover my expenses if I ever turn any in... never have. I love doing it- it's a privilege. Bill Babler and Vince Elfrink will be with me. We're getting fingerprinted for our TWIC cards while we're up there.
  20. http://lilleyslanding.com and look at availability for openings. We can't do one night on weekends UNLESS it's a walk-in. If you show up and we have a room, then we'll take it.
  21. We'll have to hand out name tags so we'll know who's who.
  22. We've all heard about affiliate programs... You really need to look at this. It's free and saves 2-5% and more on almost every store that's out there. Plus if you pay with a credit card that pays you cash back, you save that much more. You can order from WalMart and have it "shipped" to the local store and pay no shipping and pick it up there, most of the time immediately. Take a look at the list of stores- Bass Pro, Cabelas and many others. They list and offer specials all the time at different stores. Some places like restaurants.com sells certificates to big chain restaurants... Shorty Smalls sold $25 certificates for $1 but you had to buy $30 first before you got the $25... great for buying another couple dinner. Many other buys like that. It's free to sign up. Follow this link. Of course, OA gets a commission off anything you buy plus if you refer anyone to asile19, we get some of that biz too. 23. I have hats - $10.00 each. Email me lilley @lilleyslanding.com Jigs- I get them from a company in Arkansas. I have them on our online store. Green line. I think he's throwing a pointer.
  24. Jeff- size depends on the amount of water running and wind. Could have used 3/32 but 1/8th was a little better. White has been the best color by far. You should do well. Oh yea- we quit fishing at 11:30 am. It was a short trip.
  25. Bill and I are to speak at Queeney Park Wednesday night. We usually go fishing and take pics for the event the day or two before- and today was the day. Supposed to be cold tomorrow Water ran - I'd say alittle more than one unit. We got out about 9 am. Boated to the dam. Tossed jigs. I used a white 1/8th oz and Bill tried a sculpin, I think. For whatever reason, I caught quite a few rainbows and a few browns. He caught some too. Some of the rainbows in the pics are alittle small for the camera but they were pretty. And yes I did hold some of them out to the camera. Wanted to show off the fish and not the fisherman. We did real well fishing the bluff from Lookout down to Fall Creek. I actually was surprised at the size and quality of the trout caught.
