I went back Thursday morning. Cloudy breezy and I thought it was perfect conditions. Waited at the ramp until It got light enough to takeoff. Threw the top water, a swim bait, a bunch of different color drop shots and even a marabou jig. I only caught one small smallie. Lots of boats and lots of guide boats in the areas I was fishing. I never saw anyone catch anything. No surface activity either. Quit around 10 with my tail between my legs😂

River. You had to bring it up so of course I have to try again. Watched this dude park his jet boat on a gravel bar in the middle of the river going about 30 mph😁

I saw a video of blues all stacked on top of one another in a winter hole. Like they were snuggling and sleeping.

Second one chased it about 4' before he got it. Yeah I heard that about trout too...😁

First thing I thought was man this would kill on a 5 weight!!!

Motored back up to the same eddy and first cast this one hit it. Not quite as thick but it actually made better longer runs and even came up thrashing it's head out of the water. Again took me a while to net it and I was laughing my a$$ off. Motored back up and flipped it back in there a few times but no more action. I noticed a similar eddy farther downstream so I went down there and bam! First cast and I'm on again. Fought it for quite a while then it got off at the boat trying to net it. Hook broke. I use two spinners all the time just like two flies when fly fishing. Two marabou jigs. Two flukes. Anything I can get away with. Fun morning but the house flies starting biting and the fish quit so I left. Total blast on trout gear!

@fishinwrench gave me the itch to chase some whites on a local river instead of smallie fishing this morning. Caught a bunvh of dink whites then saw one of these slash at my spinners. Fired it right back in there and it was on!! Took me forever to coral and finally net the first one. Especially hard in current with a 7' St Croix Eyecon light action rod. Finally got him head first into the net. Real thick and just a beauty really.

@fishinwrench made me change plans this morning to try and catch a few whites. I stumbled across them in the past so I went back to a spot where I’ve caught them before. I caught a bunch of little ones and had a decent 15 or so inches on but the hook pulled when I lifted it. One largemouth mixed in too.

I know what shuts white bass down😆
