  1. I've seen hundreds in the canal under Page. Especially when the cottonwood fluffs where on the water. My experience is the same as Ted's. The water here in MO is too muddy around the St Louis area. I can catch a bunch with corn but they wouldn't take flys. I've seen them rolling in LOZ while bass fishing and the water was a lot clearer than the mud holes around the city. I spent a long time trying to catch them on the fly after seeing a show on TV that was, coincindentally, filmed in Michigan. I've only hooked one. Pete
  2. Hey Ted Did you try the canal under the Page behind Creve Coeur Lake? Pete
  3. X2 on Blue ribbon fly shop. If you are not within eyesight of the dams you may not hear the horn so watch carefully. Here is the generation number. Call often, especially with kids invovled. 870-431-5311 If you don't take your son to Dry Run Creek you should be water boarded. SIO3 Thanks for your service to this great country!!!
  4. Speaking of Wrench, I haven't seen a post from him an quite a while. In fact I sent him a PM just to see what was up and got no reply. If you hear from him let us know. Pete
  5. Hey Jason Put them in the for sale section. Eric just sold a pair Smith's. They'll sell quickly if Cricket dosn't interfere. Pete
  6. Now what am I gonna do? I guess I'll post the BBQ srimps recipe on my Mardi Gras thread. Pete
  7. Yep Friar Tuck's in O'Fallon MO has Amber, Turbo Dog and Purple Haze. I grabbed a sixer of Dixie too. They are not GREAT beers but they remind of good times down there. Pete
  8. This would've happened sooner without that dillweed Cricket chiming in.
  9. I'll try and get it on here later today. SIO3
  10. Ahh, fertilizer fish!! My favorite. Pay the twilight green fee (discounted) in the late afternoon and enjoy. Most of the staff will leave as soon as they can and you'll have the late evening to yourself except for a cart boy and he won't care. By paying the green fee they really don't care what you do. If it's a private course there's a good chance they'll bring charges. One of their esteemed members will probably be a lawyer or judge so it won't cost them squat to put the screws to you. Covert ops are always warranted just for the extra rush. Oh but the fish are big my friend. SIO3
  11. Pretty entertaining for a want ad. Dillweeds!
  12. Quick reply to save someone the agony and money. Yuk!!!! Dirty, mushy, tasteless, cruddy, just plain terrible. I don't know how this dump stayed in business 10 years serving that slop. Some of it was scraped from the side of the dish it was cooked in and it was disgusting. My daughters french frys were good. Pete
  13. Hi Ted Probably was heating up until the big rain and cool down. I think if it warms up at all in the next few weeks it will be on. I usually stop by the bait shop on my way home or out, but I haven't been in while. I'll make a point to get by and see what they've heard. Although the muskie fisherman are pretty tight lipped. I don not believe they are renting boats yet though. BTW, you can't bring you own. Pete
  14. Hey yall Tuesday is technically Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) but today is the big parade in St Lou. Second largest in the nation. I've been to NOLA many, many times including Mardi Gras and really have never found any food that compares. Except a couple places in Memphis like Owen Brennans and The Luoisiana Lagniappe in Deston Florida. Tonight we're going to The Gumbo Shop in Rock Hill. It's supposed to be the best around. I've driven by it hundreds of times including on the way to the fly shops here in town. My favorite dish is BBQ shrimp. I've never had it the way they cook it NOLA, unless I make it myself. Brennans in Memphis had it once for a special but it was a watery sauce and not the traditional butter with spices. I'll post up my review of The Gumbo Shop this week. Playing golf tomorrow then frying some Crappie and having a couple Abita's and some Dixie beers. Here's a link to The Gumbo Shop http://stlgumbo.webs.com/ Pete
  15. It's good exercise!!
  16. Well thank you G. I think you might be a little out of the way though. Aren't you in AR? Pete
  17. I feel ya FT!!! You ought to do the shuttles. Good extra cabbage for hotrodding someone elses vehicle. Pete
  18. Thanks Jeremy, good to know. We camp at Quarry and we are always on the lookout for a shuttle. Pete
  19. Samich fish!! That pastor must be a heck of a guide to put you on fish in that lake. Jus sayin. SIO3
  20. I don't have a canoe or whatever, but if you do the Bourb I'd go if someone had an open seat. If you ever consider a lake tourney and allow trolling motors I have pond prowler that would work well. Hit me up if anyone needs a partner, I'm in St Charles. Pete
  21. Go to Woodlands, you'll pass it on your way to Rose's. Those girls in there will shuttle you. It ain't cheap though. Leave your car down in the park at the confluence and forget Rose's. I don't think the Y store does it. I think she whacked us for $40. Pete
  22. SA's GPX and Rio Grand are roughly a half weight heavier than "normal". Pete
  23. Easy on the golf comments there bud... SIO3
  24. If they generate, rent a boat. SIO3
  25. Let go of the hate FT. Let it flow from you like water through the dam. My screen name is in reference to all the controversy that was on this forum back in 2005 surrounding shuffling and snagging fish in the outlets at Taney. I don't need to snag and trout taste bad anyway. I just like to catch em. Now smallies, I love to eat smallies. Snagged
