  1. Thursday was good fishing, Friday a switch was flipped and they shut off. Gonna try to get out this evening for a bit.
  2. Just finished the Friday nighter 16lbs won it! 1 15lb bag, 2 14's and a gaggle of 13's fought for checks. 13.5 got a check, I had 13.4 :))) I was shocked at some of the good fisherman that didn't have a limit. Fished last night and had close to 20lbs. Of course.
  3. I wear an Onyx as well, I think 89.00 at Academy. You don't even know it's on I forget about it almost every time I get out of the boat and have to walk back to take it off.
  4. For decades we took 42 to the Osage Beach area. This year we started going 54 to 70 and it's simply faster, and an easier, safer drive. We lived In JeffCo and can make that trip in 2.5 hours.
  5. I have fished Kinkaid lake in Southern Illinois a lot as well, They have a 16" minimum and 3 per day, so one guy can not legally weigh 5 fish. That lake is producing some toads but not many limits come to the scales. The Strike King tourney usually draws around 90 boats and MAYBE 20 will weigh a limit. I'm guessing most 90 boat tournaments here that 60-70% of the boats will catch and relocate a limit of fish. LOZ is one of the best bass fishing lakes in the country, but gotta wonder what it could be just if...
  6. Ya, I'm sure several...like 1/2 of them were relocated fish. I live about a mile from PB2 towards the bridge so.... The fish that took Big Bass Friday night was a 5.40 with her lower jaw ripped open from the stringer type cull balls, it makes a nice handle to grab them by, but it's sad. We have been using the clip type for a long time, one pops off every now and then but at least it leaves the fish without major scars. Actually, so would the stringer type if guys didn't use them as handles to pick up large fish, I think a small hole would heal but a 4" gash will not. I wonder how many shad are sucked in and then escape through there...lol. It's a proud moment to catch a big one with no cull ball gashes. I would like to see the limit raised to 17" lakewide for bass, or maybe a slot limit anything between 14 and 17 goes back.
  7. I caught a lot of big fish this week, 5 over 5lbs, 5 over 4 and several more 3.5+. The bigger fish are beat up pretty good, caught a 5 yesterday on a main lake point with sores on it's back and it's tail was shredded into individual strands. We won big bass in the Friday nighter out of PB2.
  8. I fished it with my son. I think the weather kept numbers down a little but I believe they had 30+ boats. 23+lbs won it. We had 17-18lbs with 5 solid fish just did not get a big fish to the boat. Pretty cool to me that with 18lbs we don't bother weighing in, what a lake.
  9. It would be interesting to see similar condition oxygen levels between lakes.
  10. The complaining gets old. Everyone has a right to use public waters legally. I fish LOZ a LOT, sure I groan when a wake boat goes by throwing 3 footers and have to turn into them while fishing but rarely does water come over the bow. It's a trade off I'm wiling to make to fish one of the best lakes in the country. Jet ski's can't make a big enough of a wake to hurt anything. The 30'-40' plows errrr cruisers generally stick to the main channel, lots of water to fish away from them but makes getting to your spots interesting. I'm pretty sure fishermen are in a minority on many lakes, on LOZ if you look at the boats in docks or on the water at any given time fishing boats are out numbered 20-1.
  11. My Dad has been up there for 3 days tearing them up and some good ones too. He has caught his limit before noon each day with several fish 12+.
  12. I'll try to make this one! How many boats you usually draw?
  13. 83* yesterday in the Glaize
  14. Catfish are on the banks and eating everything I throw on my bass rods. Shutting the gates didn't seem to hurt anything, fishing has been great.
  15. My sons new PB. Fishing was just insane all weekend.
  16. I truly believe dinosaurs would still be roaming the planet today, if not for illegal giggers taking over their limit.
  17. I love living in the no-wake zone! Miles of shoreline I can get to any given day.
  18. Wow it's cleared up enough there for a spook bite? Awesome! It was still pretty chocolaty last weekend.
  19. Manufacturer, length, action...all kinda important to know.
  20. You can never get it back...dibbs on your gear.
  21. The whole premise is based on length, not weight.
  22. There are no scales to manipulate. Your totaling inches not pounds, although somewhat related which is why it works. It's done in saltwater all the time with no issues.
