  1. Report system for offenders. Hazard communication before takeoff and at registration. Suspension plan and requalification process wreckless boater. Bump up the top insurance requirement Add a driver qualification process (boater license) Survey current and former co-anglers (survey monkey deal) to create a panel to review. Pick the likes and hates to find common ground there is is no guarantee any of the above would result in no accidents. If the actions they take reduce incidents and increase awareness for their competitors and other organizations it benefits all. I feel sorry for the co-anglers. If I toured and my son fished the co-angler side, the increased frequency would have me pushing.
  2. IMO once they promote and profit, the responsibility begins. Not a knock, just implications of their business choice. It’s guessing at solutions from outside the inner circle. Anyone know what qualification there is for the Tour? Is it invite like Elites? I really don’t know.
  3. Don’t read as blaming FLW rather, I do believe they need to investigate why them versus other organizations. Not all manufacturers or construction companies have accidents like some of the others. Just saying to dig into the why.
  4. Wow! FLW is really losing any credibility it had left. Dramatic crash on film with their college series, Sappington accident, two incidents on the big O. Really sad for those involved. Safety has to be a priority in life. FLW needs to do some soul searching.
  5. the tally bend area on Truman is a good area for all 3. Relatively easy to navigate by boat, some “open” areas for strutting, ridiculous numbers of crappie and few roads for competition coming by land. I’ve seen turkey many times in butler hollow Same can be said about the slice to the north at the grand river tebo confluence (long shoal/State park) though I’ve seen a few hunters boats tied up. Tons of gobbles There are many other good areas that require knowing the channel to navigate safely or efficiently. All that said, you bringing a boat? Would change suggestions significantly.
  6. I wouldn’t be surprised if BASS coming to L of O caused less revenue for the area over the same time span. Best case it’s minimal. Seems to be busting at the seams with visitors all the time.
  7. If you are in springfield, frogs on west bypass will crank them out quick. Seems like I gave $20 something for 3m reflective vinyl. Having all letters in order and spaced on a single sheet is darn nice
  8. Friend of mine raises deer he is ultra concerned with disease. Beyond the obvious financial motivation (read usda order herd destruction) there is the genuine interest animal husbandry. If you’ve spent years cultivating a trait, any disease is catastrophic to the investment. I, nor anyone, can prove the source of CWD. Anyone recall the manditory inceneration of chickens and turkeys from farms in Iowa? For those farms, insurance was an option. Not available for a deer farm. We lost every deer worth mentioning on a hunting property in bates county to blue tongue. Ebb an flow of nature.
  9. I guess the mount bolt engagement like a picatinny on an AR doesn’t apply to air rifles? lurking and learning
  10. The last sentence is an unnecessary and unfounded accusation. It’s been a very long time since I’ve had a fish expire in a tournament. U filling your livewell to fish at home is only one way to protect a resource. I have insulated oxygenating livewells. Temp and pressure are two different things, just physics, not my rule. I simply shared a video that articulated another.
  11. Buddy sent me a link....hope it works. Close to wrenches description minus the stick to bite on. Hook removed
  12. It’s incredibly common for tournament competitors to arrive at take off from their hotel that is lacking spigots for livewell filling in advance. I’m guessing fizzing is faster but it’s only a guess. one can be confident the chemical make up of livewell water pumped from the lake is the same as the fish were in. Its a rare day I catch a fish deep enough to worry.
  13. I’ll have to check that out. If I had to place a bet in advance, I’d bet on a stinking white bass being the fish that one day sticks me.
  14. I’ve been changing some hardware on baits. I might do a trial to see cut force. I’m guessing the owner stingers and mustad 2x in a #2 size will take some squeezing. Pretty sure those hooks are harder than cheap side cutters.
  15. Anyone else catch the MLF where Poche caught his jerkbait instead of line? 2 hook points buried beyond the barb. I own some good side cutters and they aren’t in the boat. Anyone used the cutters on their needle nose like they did?
  16. Tough is being kind. Colder and muddier than any other around. It’s not worth launching a boat until late March for bass.
  17. Can’t imagine it being open in many places.
  18. Best video instruction I’ve seen in fizzing. How, when and why. https://video.bassmaster.com/detail/videos/conservation/video/5713863086001/what-you-need-to-know-about-fizzing-smallmouth?autoStart=true
  19. Watch out for oncoming traffic headed where you are leaving in the morning. Stay wide on inside bends. The mid lake is one heck of a fishery. Figure out what rock/depth then worry about docks and brush.
  20. It’s a solid tackle store. Mostly relevant and current stuff with knowledgeable staff. Priced fair and aimed directly at competitive bass (read current trend and season) and serious crappie. Of course plenty of lews rods and reels too.
  21. Sounds like you were parked where I’d like to throw a stickbait with softer water. Never fished that creek in the winter with a good graph to figure out why they collected there. Too bad the buoy is gone, that was my marker!
  22. Do you have a desire to be near civilization and it’s amenities? edwards area is off the path with lots of fishing. “Town” isn’t near.
  23. A British transplant to this area talked about this mill and genuinely hoped it and the bridge would be saved for historical sake. He postulated that unless we “yanks” started preserving some history, we’d never have any. There’s some wisdom in it. Good for Johnny and Ozark.
  24. That may never happen. A 100 hp is still 100 hp. Gas or diesel. It’s certainly not the power or efficiency of manufacturing that drive costs up... the consumer paying for it really shows on items sold in power classes like tractors and outboards.
  25. Is it better or just less black/soot? It is how to meet the current epa regs. That assumes they are right and didn’t overlook something else.... so far, kidneys are the only urea filter, now we inject urea to burn? please don’t read this as a knock on your rig either. They are as solid as any. The after treatment stuff is still unproven for the long run. Remember platinum bead catalytic converters? Those were the deal right up until they weren’t
