  1. Geez, it's a $110 fine EACH for undersized walleye in Canada. $142 for all of that isn't much of a deterrent.
  2. I found out that my two buddies can't make it so it will just be me coming down plus BFTMASTER and his two buddies at my place. Good news for them is they all each have their own beds instead of having to hit the floor now. Could have room for more if it ends up being needed but they would need to bring sleeping gear.
  3. I've always been anti-tournament and think it's silly but I usually just keep quiet about it. It's their "right" to do it and who am I to say they can't? All I can do is not participate so I don't. The guys who drive around with a livewell of fish just so they can have a multi-fish glory shot at the end of the day really get me.
  4. Absolutely. Plenty of room. I'll PM you my cell.
  5. Not camping but you can stay at my house. Bring cots, sleeping bags or air mattresses. No sense fighting the cold and you aren't imposing as I don't actually live there, just a vacation house so it's just a party. Big house, plenty of room, plenty of parking for trucks/boats. Halfway between golf course ramp and white hole access on Hwy 178. I'll be down for Thursday night - Sunday night.
  6. Congrats on your 10,000th post Wrench! It's immortalized by "nuttier than a squirrel turd".
  7. So is everyone in agreement on the dates? Want to ask my buddies.
  8. I'm in and I have room for a few to stay at my place if interested. No charge, room for parking 3-4 trucks/trailers. I'm halfway between golf course ramp and White Hole access on 178. I've got to see if one or two people will be coming down with me once we set the dates. Or, I may be by myself, but I will be here.
  9. My heart huts that this wasn't a couple of months ago. Actually, I'm glad it wasn't or I would have tried to strap that 25 jet to my wooden jon and would have surely ripped the transmn off of it. GLWS!
  10. As always a good trip, regardless of what is caught. Looking forward to Jigfest as I'm sure that is the next time I will be down here. A good day for me is showing up after being gone for a few months and I don't have a squatter that has kicked in the door and living in my house and fishing with a friend, regardless of the number caught. Thanks for the outing Ham.
  11. I had my L5-S1 fused October of last year. Best thing I ever did. Feel absolutely great. Hope your recovery goes well.

    Deleted.

My largest was last week. 15" smallie hit a jig, 40" Muskie hit the smallie. Landed both. Muskie didn't have a hook in it, just wouldn't let go. Smallie didn't make it but was eaten that night.
  13. Great outing on Pome! Just driving back from Canada. yesterday a guy in our group got a dream fish 53.5 x 21.5 girth. I landed a 40" muskie without a hook in it. It latched onto a 15" smallie and wouldn't let go so we actually netted it. also a couple of 45s and a 47.
  14. Nice! Headed to Canada next Wednesday for 10 days to chase toothy critters.

    PB!

    Absolutely great outing!
  16. Several years ago I caught a large snapping turtle about 20" across while bass fishing a farm pond in my float tube. Thought it was a big catfish as it was a strong pull, pull, pull when swimming away from me. Finally turned it and brought it up about a half a rod length away from me. Set the hook as hard as I could to snap the line and kicked away beating the water to a froth.
  17. Thanks! Love me some muskie fishing. Too bad I only get to do one or two trips to Canada a year.
  18. I need to get an avatar now. The S is pretty lame.
  19. I gave you a sad just to see if it knocked down your "like" total by one.
  20. I'd guess around $2,500 materials and labor. Materials for mine was right at $900.
  21. Sorry for the lack of response, hadn't been on for a while. Was down in AR using mine for a few days. I've now run it for two full days and half a day with a lot of running back up the river. Not sure how many miles total. Also for two days I left it idling the whole time we were fishing. Still on the original 6 gallon tank of fuel. Pretty happy with that. I'll come up with something and let you know.
  22. I might be coerced into building another for someone this winter at the 17' x 34" bottom if interested... Probably go to 16' for the side panel length. It would eliminate additional side and bottom splices. Actually thinking about it more, 16' bottom, let the overall length go towards 17. Two splices on the side panels would allow staggering of the splices from the bottom splice. Someone's comment above about the aluminum being noisy also made me go wood instead of just buying aluminum. It's a soft thud when it hits something. I think it might be quieter than fiberglass even. I think the weight would be 150 lbs so very close to the aluminum.
  23. Actually the specs are very close to the original plans one I built before I modified them. Plans called for 34" bottom width, about 46" top width. Lots of rocker, similar to than the one above. Sorry for the bad pic. Whack one station out of the middle and right at 17'
  24. You should build one of the wooden ones like I did, leave it at the standard 34" bottom width (I widened mine to 40" bottom) and take out one station. That puts it right around 17' OAL. Actually, shorten to 16'6" and that would let you get the bottom out of only two 8' sheets due to the flare of the transoms. Seriously the thing would weigh 150 lbs max. Put seats wherever you want them. Would paddle great at 34" wide. A 4 or 5 hp would probably move it along at 6-7 mph with the narrower beam. Mine does 16 GPS with the 9.9.
