  1. Was kinda wondering how long it was gonna go by without being said. I saw it also but it wasnt my place to say. Just funny that if 1 tournament bass is floating at the end of a day it is DEATH to ALL things tournament and those who do it, all within an hour. This went 7 days!! While many out the are extremely diligent of they're fish. Yes they are displaced at times but the irresponsible cause blame to everyone. I for one keep crappie and walleye to eat but for me that is what I like. To each their own!
  2. We put in at ruark at daylight, the ramp and dock are very useable. Beautiful morning but to me it was very muddy water. Less that 1ft vis. I started shallow on some of my favorite spots and finally found a few fish. They were isolated 3 or 4 here and there. I used FFS and quickly picked off 6 or 7 but my partner never got bit. It was hard without seeing where they were. These fish were right on the edge of trees sitting above the flooded bushes. My bite died around 830 or so after the sun come up. It got real tough to use the FFS with the sun and dirty water so we decided to troll some #6 flicker shads. We caught 4 more keeper crappie in random places and left around 1. We caught 9 females and 2 males. We found clear water in Googer Creek but only had 1 fish in there. Wind made it tough for me to cast light jigs so we only trolled back there. If I had to do it again I would have left the water at 10 am with that high sun and HOT temps. Best color flicker was anything with blue. Best early jig color for us was red head, smoke body. Hope this helps someone out there. For what it's worth we ran into the same couple at the ramp leaving that put in at the same time. Also said it was tough sledding and the had 8 crappie to show... we also caught and threw back several White bass and a couple very short walleye. Good Luck!!!
  3. Fished on the southern end on my day off this week and ran into the crappie around 130 or so. We couldnt get there til 9 am and had to leave at 230 so it was a pretty shot trip as we had to get kids to and from school. Finally found some fish pretty shallow and caught 8 real nice fish. 10 min before we had to leave I had to look at a brush pile for a buddies return trip today. We caught 7 more fish in 10 min and had to go. No doubt could have caught 2 limits with another 30-60 min. He went back today and they caught 2 limits and just as many shorts. All fish caught on Red Jigs and most were males. They few females we ran into were not quite ready to spawn yet.
  4. I 100% agree that this is an amazing event. 3 days away from "reality" spending it on the lake with a couple friends. Pouring money into the awesome local eateries!! I know it's not possible bc by all account this is a Bass Pro event, but I do wish there was a more centralized weigh in location. Again, I understan long creek has the only Bass Pro marina but they would def have more fish weighed in. With that many boats and this years wind and gas prices it just wasnt worth the run. We personally had a 3.5 or so each day but just didnt want to make that run with only 1 fish. With 2 we would have. But each day, those fish would have only got an 8-10 place check but only in a couple random hours. I have cashed several checks in the past and also look forward to this trip Every single year. Amazing weekend with awesome people!!!
  5. I 100% agree. I wouldnt trade it for anything. Me and a buddy stay at his familys cabin down here for 4 days!! No work, no wife, no kids......its almost worth it to stay in bed this morning but I'm dumb enough to be out there also!! Lol Good Luck today!
  6. Ha! Those winds plus freezing temps! Its gonna be so enjoyable!! Lol
  7. By tannic, you talking about coffee colored unfishable crap!!! Lol
  8. I'm trying to make a trip down Thursday or Friday but didnt want to waist my time to much looking for cleaner water. Does anybody know how far down the mud line had gotten in the James or if it has started to clear up anywhere up river also.
  9. LOL, a $999 good deal! Buy 3, sell 2 to pay for one. Absolutely amazing Idea, I just didnt have the upfront cash to do the same. Cudos!!!
  10. Anybody know of a good swimbait Jig mold with a screw lock insert. I dont really care for the Do It round head for a couple reasons. I'd rather have a 60 degree hook as opposed to the 90 they offer, or what I really want is the 6th sense style screw lock lead head. Thank you in advance for any help.
  11. 90% of the time we target walleye and crappie as well. But we just bought a new boat and got in a small Bass derby for fun just to get out!
  12. It's been super slow on here this winter so I thought I'd try to jump start the excitement. Fishing was SUPER SLOW this past Sunday. We had 2 bites all day. One on a rock crawler and this one on a jig. We only landed this fish as the rc fish jumped at the boat. It may have been a small keeper but that's about it. Anyway, here is a pic of my biggest bass caught by me this year. Hope there are more to come and feel free to post nics if all your biggest fish this year no matter the types!!! 5.78 Lbs
  13. That sounds pretty ridiculous to be honest. I have fished a few in the past on the chance I have gotten off on wed but they obviously have other objectives.
  14. Thank you very much! I've got mine set on Auto right now but once in a while i like to adjust it to a certain level if I'm deeper. I really appreciate the help!!
  15. I actually have a livescope setup question. For those that have the NON touch screen GPSMap 1022, the dial allows you to quickly scroll though option. For whatever reason I can only scroll through Gain and FWD range, I want to add Depth range to the quick scroll settings.
  16. I ended up downloading the Hummingbird PC app to a computer at home and I loaded the files onto it and they transfer it to the correct style file then Uploaded them onto the graph. I "think" I did it right but I will know for sure next week when I get the boat up to stockton to do a little fishing hopefully. Havent heard many reports from up here so were coming in blind!!!! Fishing Bass this time but usuallly always we are crappie\walleye fishing. Gonna try our hand at locating a big one or 2
  17. Im going with to STUPID EXPENSIVE!!!!!
  18. There is one hell of a pity party down near the bottom!! I might as well Join in!!! I think I have 1 guy left in the darn thing!! and he has plenty of room to move forward. LOL
  19. Thats pretty much what Ive been seeing and reading. I couldnt do it from work tonight so I will get home tomorrow and attempt it from the house. Thank you for your input!!!
  20. Thanks guys, I saw the videos of the hummingbird pc and couldn't do it from work so I am going to give that a shot tomorrow from home. This is the 1st one I've had to do to I'm pretty much a newbie but didn't think I was this new. LOL As far as the Garmin it is already all updated before I got it so I wasnt to worried about it. It is pretty much 100% dedicated to just Livescope. Again thank you guys a bunch
  21. Got a question for ANYBODY who is smarter than I am at this! (Everybody) I picked up my new to me boat yesterday, I got Helix 10s for my graphs along with a Garmin dedicated to Live scope. The graphs were wiped clean as expected and I already put the new Lake Master Plus card into it. Now I am wanting to download the MDC way points for TRL and Stockton to my units. My question is regarding transferring the file from the MDC website with the waypoints onto the graph. It comes off the website as a GPX file. I think I have "unzipped" it but I still need to get it to a different style file for the graph to download it if I am correct. How in the world do I manage to do that? Im sure this is easy for someone who has done it but this is a first for me. Thank you to anyone who might be able to help!!!!
  22. Payment Sent!!! Hopefully I did it right!
