Hi fishing buddies! Looking for a little advise for Friday 10/7/2016.. Im going to try Pomme for the very first time. Im bringing my wife,mom and 13 year old nephew up to try to get on some crappie and whites...we will be trying to target Crappie but if we catch some whites that just adds to the fun. Im a bass fisherman for the most part so its going to be hard for me to just target crappie but Im doing this for my mom she loves to fish for crappie. I will be coming from the south about 2.5 hours away. Wheres the nearest boat ramp to access from the south. Also where can a guy buy some quality minnows just before I get to the lake. Ill be coming up from the Lebanon way. Is there plenty of brush piles I will be able to see on my graphs. I have a Humminbird Helix 7 and a Humminbird 998. Backs of coves ? Main lake channels? Help a brother out so he can try to out fish his mom for once LOL!

Kinda what I was thinking too .01 would suk...but i really thought with 3,800 people fishing someone would find a 10lber somewhere. Since weve seen a couple this year out of LOZ!

I would say use a big bait like a jig with a beavertail trailer and cover alot of water....or maybe try a big swimbait....You may not catch many but it only takes one big bite to win it1

I watch eric prey all the time on you tube I subscribe to his videos. And you are right he does a great job with his reports. And Im just glad he takes the time to video his reports. It all takes time to put together and upload so i love that aspect of his reports. I dont get down there enough to be good on that lake so any and all advise is appreciated!

Well went to the Lake sunday thinking it should be less traffic since its after Labor day. (Wrong) water on main lake still had plenty of big booats and Wave rats,,Put in at Mcubbins Point and ran up towards the bridge on the main lake. Went back into a cove with boats docks and started fishing. Bluebird day when we got to the lake which was about 11;30 am. Not very good fishing weather as far as being bright. Good for us fisherman but not my favorite weather conditions for getting bit! No real pattern I found. Wife was drop shoting and I was flippin a beaver style bait on a shakeyhead hook. I caught some in 12 foot of water and I caught some right on the bank. My best was in 3 foot of water next to a concrete pillar holding a dock in place. I did catch a nice 14 incher on a livingston squarebill midway down a cove with no boat docks. I was making myself throw a crankbait since I never throw them as much as I should. Im more of a plastics guy. We didnt see near the numbers of bass as the last trip when it was cloudy but still caught 10 bass in four hours so I was happy. Heres a pic of the one and only keeper and one of the many 14 inchers.

My biggest concern would be FOG! I hate trying to find my way anywhere in the fog on that lake.

Makes me wonder how big that Bass was you lost...I talked to a guy down there the last time I was there and he swears the next LM state record will come from Taney. I dunno about that but he sure was convinced of it! Have any of you regulars that fish taney tried a rainbow swimbait with any luck? I would think you could catch a giant with one down there.

My hooks are about 15 inches above the weight.

It was the smaller weights and about a 6 inch finesse....but I got most of the bites draggin it like you described!
