  1. That isn't the code, you can find the code here; https://www.sos.mo.gov/adrules/csr/current/3csr/3csr.asp some excerpts that apply; "A person may possess only the daily limit of any species while on the waters or banks thereof to which the limit applies. (F) A person may possess no more than two (2) statewide daily limits as prescribed in 3 CSR 10-6.505 through 3 CSR 10-6.620. (35) Limit: The maximum number or quanti- ty, total length, or both, of any wildlife per- mitted to be taken or held in possession by any person within a specified period of time according to this Code." This says to me that the possession limits specified only apply at home or in transit, but don't apply on the body of water or banks, there the daily limit is all you can possess, even if it takes a week to catch that many. So, once away from that water and bank the state wide rule of "two (2) statewide daily limits" applies. Wildlife may be given away if properly labeled and then becomes part of the possession limit of the recipient, I found nothing saying that the recipient of a gift needs a permit nor anything saying that a church could not be such a recipient. I guess then that a 300 member church could possess 600 daily limits so long as the labels are in place?
  2. 3 showing as "brand new" on the big auction site and Cabela's still list in online catalog as "limited supply". I missed that you wanted one piece.

    fish kill

    This SW Fl. pic showed up on another forum last week, it's a fish kill;
  4. Don't sound like fun at all, that foot. Very nice fish though.
  5. Sure and I don't mind if you do, you can call anything a trophy in conversation, but, you should be aware that any listeners will understand a displayed object. Common definitions of trophy from the web: "A trophy is a tangible, durable reminder of a specific achievement, and serves as recognition or evidence of merit." "a souvenir of an achievement, especially a part of an animal taken when hunting." "a representation of a memorial of victory; an ornamental group of symbolic objects arranged for display" Merrium Webster "Definition of trophy plural trophies 1 : something gained or given in victory or conquest especially when preserved or mounted as a memorial 2 a : a memorial of an ancient Greek or Roman victory raised on the field of battle or on the nearest land for a naval victory b : a representation of such a memorial (as on a medal); also : an architectural ornament representing a group of military weapons 3 : a game animal or fish suitable for mounting as a trophy —usually used attributively"
  6. welcome to the mountains, Paul.
  7. That is why I said this; Trophies should be reserved for ball sports and Olympic games. I don't even take pictures of my fish, usually don't take them out of the water unless to eat and sardines are $1 a can and ready to eat so I don't scale many fish.
  8. Used to be drownings in the creeks here blamed on underwater springs shooting cold water on swimmers causing cramps. Not sure that's what happened but there were some cold streams under water where they happened. I guess water falling off a ledge under water could create some suction/undertow. My question was triggered by the rescuers entering the same water and not only avoiding being sucked under but also getting out the folks that were sucked under. (that probably just postpones their death by idiocy til another day)
  9. What makes it so hazardous, in comparison to any where else on the river?
  10. Well, it's good you found it safe, and no taxidermy involved either, congrats.
  11. 17" is pretty big, 21+/4.5# my pb. None of them are trophy size, but I'd be tempted by a 30"er.
  12. 15th
  13. I could not cast that.
  14. How deep is the water where you do this? How far up is the indicator set ?
  15. Any stream in the green area is a possible smallmouth factory. Compare with your other maps to get details on access to the streams.
  16. I figured you would, but that is talent I don't have, boats are transport only to me. have fun!
  17. I fish midge in or near the film and scuds or SJW like a nymph, a tight line with no sinker unless the water is extremely fast or a lift and drop swing. I try to get these to float at the fishes depth by weighting the flies and somewhat careful choice of entry point-depending on current speed and fish depth, the delivery may need to be farther away from the fish to allow the fall rate to get the fly to the fishes feeding level. Things I almost never do eggs, bobbers, droppers... Right now and for the past few weeks I have been using mostly terrestrials at RR.
  18. I have looked at all those high dollar shades and they all have a couple stand out features to me (with the exception of Maui Jim's ) in that they have clown frames and giant conspicuous consumption logos. Cocoons came up on other forums as a good wear over or alone fishing shade. I haven't tried them. Guaranteed though that if I'm paying optical shop prices it will go to an optician not a designer. some (most?) opticians will reduce the price on two or more scripts and the frames won't look like billboard.
  19. I normally cast those all up and across or down and across or straight up stream into a pocket, with the exceptions of the mega worm and the egg patterns and those (if I find one) I give to a spin fisher. Oh and with a fly rod in a boat I would use live bait. Live bait is the only way I know to fish from a boat and enjoy it.

    Catfish?

    Overnight trotline?
  21. funny, I don't remember that years flood any more than other years, it floods here every year and the most recent is the most remembered. I think 2017 might have set some record though, at least got close to setting record. was bad here in '87 or ''88 too iirc.
  22. I don't know why, but when I used to fish Beaver tailwater I quit calling and just took my chances. The recording was right just about as often as it was wrong. The key words are "estimated" and "subject to change".
  23. I've got confused, which of these makes progressive (or bifocal) scripts in amber polarized?
  24. Polarization requires a coating according to my optician. It blocks all horizontal light and passes vertical light, what ever that means but it doesn't block UV. It does cut glare cause by scattered light, which I think I understand. Thing is glass or plastic lens need the UV dye polycarbonate doesn't . Polarized are all I wear but that in itself doesn't protect the eye it just makes it easier to see.
  25. Adults eat mostly vegetable matter, so feeding them bugs is starving them. They eat worms and insects as juveniles and change as they get older they will eat the heck out strawberries.
