  1. Bill, I had read something once where Jones talked about cutting the legs for his micro jigs, made me think they were constructed from a tubing of some sort. Is this the same jig or did he have several types?
  2. On another forum a few years ago I had seen something about in Mo you were requited by law to ID yourself to LEO at any stop, I never looked that up but maybe stating your name is sufficient ID. In the same discussion, it was stated that it was against the law to lie to a cop a stop. So many socialist laws that I don't keep track of them all. Reading of the 2nd discloses no reference to hunting, the only firearms protected are those necessary for the militia and for self protection. The myth of hunting arms being protected is a part of the socialist movement towards firearms confiscation. Some day soon. the people will relinquish that right to maintain arms to overcome the Federal standing Army. But this is getting into politics and I'll let you read the Bill of Rights for yourself, and suggest reading the Federalist papers also. I'm not the best communicator and was attempting to illustrate the difference between a 'right' and a privilege. I see I failed. Suffice it to say hunting is not a right.

  4. As long as they don't force me to keep and clean them, I'm fine.
  5. The suspension or revocation or whoever is of the privilege, not the permit, as I understand it. I believe you have to be privileged by the state to buy permits to drive and to buy permits to hunt or fish. Things not specified as rights under the constitution are or may be allowed by privilege granted by the state. The state could suspend/revoke my privilege to own hunting rifles but can not suspend/revoke my right to own militia (military) arms. I'm not sure, doesn't Mo. require a "non-driver" photo ID for adults? As to what's "he gonna do" , how would you expect this to work out at a traffic stop or any other confrontation with a LEO? idk , but always expect escalation to escalate.
  6. Regs say skin has to be intact too. (well, attached) My reading is that you can clean any fish by scaling, gutting, & gill removal but not process it by filleting or skinning, nor could you process it into fish patties while on the water/banks. Ultimately if will depend on the Agent.
  7. Show em to the agent first or leave the heads on em you should be legal?
  8. 9. Chapter 6—Wildlife Code: Sport Fishing: Seasons, Methods, Limits 3 CSR 10-6.405 General Provisions (3)(C) Regardless of where taken, no fish less than the specified minimum length limit shall be possessed on the waters or banks thereof to which length limits apply. The head, tail and skin must remain attached to all fish for which length limits are established while those fish are on the waters to which length limits apply or until the fish have been checked by an agent of the department. This tells me I can clean the fish as long as the head, tail and skin are left on?
  10. Why? is it for castability or visibility or bait movement or?
  11. imo, 5X tippet is small enough for any fly except tiny dry flies, if the tippet pushes the fly a smaller tippet is needed; as long as the fly can move the tippet is small enough. This from a guy that used to fish tippets to 8&9X (in the old days 1/2# test). I rarely want a tippet over 30" long because longer might not turn over to suit me. (over all leader length might exceed 12' though) I also think every ready made leader I have ever seen was too big in the butt section. .017"-.018" is plenty big enough and gives better flex to the delivery system. Use any leader material you want as long as it is Maxima Chameleon or Maxima Ultragreen. Good advice. If you are fishing a jig and float, any other advice I might have would be irrelevant, something I have never done.
  12. My sleuthing isn't perfect nor conclusive, but, as mojorig says, I think this is the "new law" in question and I believe it goes back to 1984 with the latest amendment to it in 2014; so not quite a new requirement. I also recall a similar discussion of another forum several years ago, someone had just discovered the SS requirement and thought it was "new" and ranted on about MDC taking things into their system that didn't relate &blablabango etc. I believe you will find each month dozens or more privileges automatically revoked over family support related to any & all the states that reciprocate on license suspension. I think Mo still has your SS# on your drivers permit too. It's in the computer system barcode stuff. As far as benefits to whom, don't you think MDC would like the income from those thousands of permits annually? They lose money with every revocation of potential permit sales, don't they? The many citizens that squawk about government money going to welfare and family support of single mothers are the driving force here. You get a lot of kids off the public dole by enforcing parental support, enforcement needs tools and this provides one. I have in the past been amused by some people wanting the government to act on a thing like this and then the same people rant and rail about how that government action is affecting them. Old adage about being careful what you wish for. The Bradley amendment of this act in 1986 prevents states from modifying adjudicated child support under any circumstances, even if the custodial parent doesn't want the support payment, the state must collect it under this law. Not necessarily on topic, but, last I checked there are over 4,400 Federal crimes; so if we were not aware of this law, it is only one of thousands of criminal laws that most of us will never be aware of til we are charged with them. (that's not counting state nor local crimes)
  13. Yeah, I need one to look up this "hot lapping" stuff and see just how that keeps a boat owner from being a .......edit imaginative description
  14. What code book details this so called Etiquette?
  15. So, isn't this what happens there all the time anyway?
  16. What's a CSE? Oh, the other thing is this Federal law, Finklestien's daughter grew up, became a lawyer and got elected to the US Senate and wrote the law. But, you were on the right track.
  17. I'm pretty sure a jig with marabou is a fly unless it has a double/treble hook. This definition also covers single hook Rooster Tails etc
  18. Isn't DL also tied to the SS#? For years you had to ask to have the DL # something other than than SS#. Think MDC already has all these numbers if you ever had a permit in the past many years. and my SS card has been in my wallet since 1967, where else would you keep one, a safe deposit? Thing is they don't ask to see the card for on line purchase, just type it from memory like you do every where else. On vacation your passport will tie to your SS#. Then I was on a construction job in Ar when the HR in Tn discovered that three workers on that job were all using the same SS#, so you could probably share one.
  19. I've only fished with the fly rod for many years, and when I think spoon, I think of Johnsons Silver Minnow or one of the many Dardevles, specially the red & white . Or a fly rod spoon fashioned from a Colorado spinner blade. Lead spoons are new to my imagination.
  20. Bet they had already crunched numbers to forecast this prior to making the move. Gun people don't realize how few they are in comparison to the real people. This announcement probably also brought 15 minutes of free advertising hosted by all the anti-Dick's ranting against them. Some folks that never bought any thing there before probably did buy stuff in support of the anti-gun policy.
  21. there used to be a Federal law that SS# not be used for anything except SS, wonder what happened to that? So, this is to track the deadbeat Moms >>just went through the purchase steps on line to check which of my permits are still valid; they already have my SS# so this must not be a new requirement, it has been several years since I updated that file; always just give Conservation # and request the permits needed that day. Probably at least since they came out with Conservation numbers, just toss the old permit down and say use this.
  22. Last time I was in the Rogers store an executive looking person in a group of store clerks (that I had to nearly accost to ask a question ) said she thought the signs over both would read "Outdoor World", I don't really care; I haven't spent much over a hundred bucks with either in the last twenty years. Either or both are nice outings just to see and touch stuff. Local types in Cassville get most of my fishing money.
  23. See, there it is, I was unaware that jigging spoons even existed. Dan, your post gave me a start to search from and after reading some patent stuff, I better understand the jargon.
  24. Fwiw, the second amendment does not protect hunting guns, it really only applies to weapons that can be used by the militia, ie , military type arms. So any mention of hunting type guns is moot, if the discussion is about the right to own guns. . Over 50 years ago our neighbor killed his deer every year with a 1911 .45 ACP. Hunting with handguns is not 'new'.
