  1. I would imagine it is. But someone had suggested that it would be ok to use the north ramp when the south one was closed. And it was open Monday.
  2. Good for you Dan!!! I have considered it myself. But even though I am in good health. I'm not sure at 61 how much I would enjoy dragging one over hill and hollow. But I think it would be fun to fish that way.
  3. I have the same Garmin. Thank you for that information.
  4. I thought of that. It open but there wasn't an attendant to be found. So I decided just go to Ruark.
  5. Just info for you guys. Might save someone some time. I went to Cedar Ridge and the south ramp was closed to to low water conditions. I don"t know what else is closed. I went on to Ruark Bluff to launch. My fishing today isn't worth bringing up or I would give some kind of report.
  6. I take it ole Aldo never accidentally squated in a poison ivy plant.
  7. Back in my early day, while in the Corp. I had a girlfriend who worked with snakes. The weird lasting affect on me is. Every time I have a seen a snake since those days I have wanted to throw a dollar bill at it.
  8. There was a bit of tounge and cheek in that. But who really knows until the proverbial fecies hits the wind machine.
  9. I live in the country and love living that way. I noticed my neighbor was really into the whole survivalist thing and he got interested in it. After a few classes and some expensive supplies. I thought screw it. If I need it, I'll just shoot him and use his. After all , this is the land of opportunity. I'm just saying.
  10. I have a newer terrova. Which is not in the same class as the ones your looking at. But I can tell that there is no issue with cable wrap in spot lock mode. It handles that very well. My problem is with the lift assist spring. You cannot run the transducer cable down the flat part of the shaft. So for now I am stuck using the there internal transducer, which leaves a lot to be desired. My two choices so far are to use some clunky looking after market get up. Or wait for the warranty to expire, and remove the lift assist. Then I can use the shaft.
  11. Dennis Shorb is my kind of people. Way to go buddy!!!!!
  12. I take an occasional sanity day off from work just to go in the middle week. It is almost always nice and peaceful. I am going to retire from the railroad in 3 weeks. I am so looking forward to not ever having to launch on a day that starts with an S. I don't get there often. Stockton is just so much closer. But I do enjoy PDT.
  13. I am glad just to see someone post something. Been kind of quiet on here lately. I was thinking if no one is going to post? Then I am going to start posting. And it's been my experience that no one wants to see that!!! 😜 Never going to turn down fishing school. Thanks.
  14. That's interesting that you had brought this up. As a average bass and crappie fishing guy. I have been wanting to really learn how to fish for walleye. I have read and studied what people have written with very minor success. I have kind of followed your post and experiences on here, and wondered if your time and experience could be hired out. I thought about sending a PM on the subject. I am going to retire in a month, And at some point in the near future I am going to hire somebody. More for what I can learn than the immediate catch. So for me, yes it would be the knowledge I would be most interested in. I would think being a guide would be an interesting post retirement job.
  15. I have a little different perspective on what a trophy would be. I loosely base it the experience and capability of the fisherman. Take me for example. If it is to big to fit in that little box the lure came in. Well there will be picture taking and trash talking!!!
  16. Please don't come to Stockton. It's so crowded. There is so many boats there now that when you launch a boat another one pops out of the water like a watermelon seed. And the only fish there is a walleye with bad teeth and a carp with a eye missing. 😜😜😜 lol
  17. Thanks RPS. I was going to do that. There are a couple of good U-tube videos on that. But unfortunately that flat lift assist spring ruined that plan. I pulled that apart with out thinking about it. You talking about a moment of panic. lol. But eventually got it all put back together correctly.
  18. I recently installed a Minn Kota Terrova. It's not auto deploy, but does have a big flat spring for lift assist. I really am happy with it. Glad I got it. The only problem I am having is trying to run a transducer cable down it. The built in transducer is just to limiting.
  19. I had that same look on my face when I had the flu and didn't make it home in time.
  20. Somebody needs to pay for that carpet. Know a good lawyer? 😉😊
  21. Thanks tracman for using your misfortune as a tool to help others. This is a personal reminder for me that 50% of the time is not enough. Which I am guilty of.
  22. Either that or Bigfoot got a hold of some some bad fish!!!
  23. Your gonna put your eye out with that.
  24. Just about ten miles west of Springfield wrench.
