i guess that i just need a lot more practice. my wife went fishing for the first time in about 3 months, and beat me as usual. i had to make a fast and furious comeback to make it 5 to 4 on keepers, but i did sneak in a 4 lb. lmg on her. not too bad for 2 hours of looking and 2 hours of fishing. 70 to 75 ft. deep on or near the bottom is where every bite came from. on a 2d sonar, you really have to know what you are looking at because there is hardly any evidence of fish around. when you do catch one, it is easy to tell they are laying flat to the bottom because of the extremely pale color of the 9 keepers, 4 were lmg's, which proves that not all lmg's stay shallow. more and more bass on table rock are becoming nomads. one can spend quite a bit of time each trip trying to find them. forgot to mention how well the tour pro is working. i would have to say that the pinpoint system is just that. it keeps you right on the money. you sit so still that you can get a much better idea of how much the fish move around underneath you. sonar will have fish or shad, and then be totally blank for a few minutes and then have activity again. bo

fished out in the middle of the huricane today. here a real test of how good the spot lock is on the tour pro. put a buoy out and park right by it. bet i stayed within a foot of it. this is a great troller. bo
-
forgot to mention that the bump pole is integrated on the bracket. meaning that it is hinged and when you deploy the motor it folds down into the top of the bracket. bo
-
i replaced a minn kota maxxum 70 lb. thrust. the motor guide is at least 15 lbs. lighter. that is a lot of weight to take off the very nose of the boat. bo
-
second trip out with the tour pro. i took an ultrex guy with me, and he was more than impressed. i have the 24 v 82 lb. thrust. full speed, pantera 2, 52 gallons of gas, and livewells full, 2.7 mph full speed. no flex noise of any kind out of bracket. normal movement of foot pedal, you never here any steering noise. barely hear it when making a very fast movement of pedal. spot lock is right on the money, very precise. i just wish it had not taken so long to get it. it is a winner. bo

it was easy to mount to the boat, and the bracket is solid as a rock. very impressed with it. bo

suppossedly they made some more internal changes and upgrades. they are to begin manufacturing after jan 1. bo

finally got one. so, for those waiting to see how i like mine, all i've got to say is wow! great bracket. great latching system. motor is really quiet. steering is so quiet that you never hear it on normal adjustments. spot lock stays on a dime. deploys and stows like there is nothing there. i got a 24v 82 lb. thrust, and it has really got the zip! don''t even ask me how i got one. kind of by hook and crook, but they are supposed to be making them after the 1st if the year. so, here is my stamp of approval, which there were several waiting on. bo

well done for the upper end. groups of bass are just darn hard to find right now. believe me you can burn up a lot of gas looking for them each day. if you do find them, it can be a very good day. today was one of those days for both numbers and size. but, caught most of them 65 to 70 ft. deep and, we were casting not video or vertical fishing. it seems like anymore that you have to sit quite a ways off from them to catch the better ones. a 4 lb. brownie, couple of 4 lb. lmgs, and several in the 3 lb. class, plus a 5 lb. walter. the walter numbers seems to be growing. i had 3 big ones yesterday, and we had two today. bo

i see plenty of boats out every time i am on the lake. i am not for sure anyone works anymore. you have to do a whole lot of hunting to find anything. lots of bits and pieces of shad out in the main lake that are 60 to 80 feet deep. do not see much bait up shallow. bo

Who Is Fishing the Big Bass Tour Oct 31-Nov 3
merc1997 Bo replied to crazy4fishin's topic in Table Rock Lake
that was to be expected with a week of cold rain, and the rise in the lake. i was at HI friday, and the water temp was 51. quite the cool down from 65 before the cold rain began. it blew out all the shad up that way. did not begin to see much shad out in the lake until eagle rock. they were all about 5 ft. deep, and broken up into very small pods. going to take a week of warm sunny weather to get things straightened up some. bo -
no, i mean what type of standard or other instrument do you use to actually set your gauges by. you get bent way out of shape so easily it is crazy. even medical thermometers have a plus or minus range. so, is there an accurate instrument that anyone can purchase, without costing more than a boat, to set our gauges by? bo

accurate to what standard? bo

fished the lower end all summer. brownie fishing ruins a person. basically, since june, i fished 3 lures. a 1 oz. Elite Black Widow, a 1 oz. Elite Mega Blade (aka big wobbler), and a 3/4 GrassJig. no pattern to where you would catch them other than there had to be shad present. they just follow the kitchen. could not tell you the numbers of 3 and 4 lbers, but lots of them. had three that were definitely over 5. right now, there are few bass 25 to 30 ft., and some up in 8 to 10 ft. so, there are certainly in a state of transition. sorry, but most likely the catching will get sketchy for a while because we will begin fall turnover at some point. i have not post much because did not want to sound like a broken record. the recreational traffic was the worst ever. it was sometimes 1 am before they got off the water. before too long, i will get combo trips in. go spoon fishing in the afternoon, then go downstream at dark and catch whopper brownies. i just can not stress how important it is to be fishing where there are lots of shad. our bass seem to be very nomadic now, and they go whereever the shad move. bo

is there not any common sense or courtesy anymore! put in at big m m because eagle rock can not be used. the lpictured gmc with ranger trailer, the owner, seems to think they either own the lot. there was one other inconsiderate involved, ford pu, as they were parked at water's edge with back of trailer very close to courtesy dock. unless someone with years of backing skills, between the two, there was not enough maneuvering space between the two of them to get down the ramp, which one does have to use because of the installed shot rock at parking lot edge. well, the ford got damaged and kind of deserved it, and the gmc owner ought to chip in to fix the ford and the nitro trailer that stuck under the bumper of the ford. there were several that knew how to handle the high water and parking situation. bo

my kind of day, meaning no one on the lake! catching was not too bad either. ended up with 8 keepers. 4 came on the doodle, and 3 on the big wobbler including a nice one. bites were from 5 to 15 ft. bluff type banks were better. did i mention that i love fishing in the mud!. bo

i have not posted anything for a while. it has not been because i have not been or have not been catching any bass. catching lots of bass, but not a great amount of keepers. today, we caught 49 bass and had 6 keepers. one of those was a 3 lb. lmg. i am using some 10 lb. test braid that is smaller than a 2 lb. test diameter, and am using a NuTech 1/8 crappie jig for a head. we are catching these bass 25 to 35 ft. deep. the bites are next to nothing. this is where the super thin braid comes into play because of the depth and nothing bites. i took taylor sanders with me last week, and i was catching all day and he was not. why? because he was using 6lb. test floro and was not feeling the nothing bites. he finally took my rod right before we quit and promptly caught 6 bass. he could not believe the difference in feel. so, he went with me today and showed up with a reel that needed line, and put on some of the 10 lb. braid for him. he caught fish all day this time. wonder where all the better bass are up this way when you are catching the youngsters as deep as we are. have spent a lot of time fishing a jerk and crank, but no love on either. guess catching something is better than catching nothing. bo
