  1. I know you did everything you could to save it. Was a beautiful fish though.
  2. Great fish. Hope it was released and survived.
  3. Congratulations on the trout of a lifetime. Also, great job handling and releasing her. You can still put that picture on Lilley's lunker board.
  4. Oneshot, check your messages.
  5. Trilene XL 2 or 4 in low vis green for Taneycomo. Better results with that for me than the fluorocarbon.
  6. Beautiful fish. Great job keeping it in the water to fight another day.
  7. We were fishing an oxbow of the Maries river on a buddy's farm in the Ozarks and started catching some good size gar. We never kept them but threw them on the bank for coon food. His wife who was fishing with us said what are you doing, that's the best eating fish in here. We put a bunch in the cooler and she fried them up and they were excellent table fare. So don't waste them they are good eating.
  8. That's great news. Keep posting updates.
  9. I think that was the old Riverlake resort. Torn down to build condos that never happened.
  10. That will be insane especially on the upper end.
  11. Champ, just keep wearing it you will forget its even on. I bought their top end auto inflate also last year and wear it whenever I am on the boat. I wore it all this summer in the heat and it does not bother me. Very light weight and good air circulation so stick with it and you be fine.
  12. Congrats Russell and welcome home brother. Thank you for your service.
  13. If you fish below the dam on Taney you can't use any live bait or soft plastics. Get down on Bull Shoals for Walleye. Buster Loving of Busters guide service catches lots of walleye there mostly in winter. Look him up on Facebook.
  14. Good point about balance as you get older. A couple years ago I got a Cabela's gift card and used it to buy a tournament quality auto inflatable. I wear it all the time in the boat, especially when by myself. It does not interfere with casting, even with a fly rod, and you don't even know its on. Mine is also very good in real hot weather as its mesh and doesn't make you get hotter.
  15. One of the best parts of a trip to Taney is a fresh fish dinner at the resort after fishing all day. There is no reason to over harvest and they are always better fresh.
  16. I have had that happen on Truman quite a few times and there is nothing like it. Last summer below the dam there was a frenzy right off the bank for a week. Every body caught limits and they were all nice size. Then in October of last year my son and I got into the whites and hybrids for two days. Limited on over 18" hybrids with three guys on both days and had another dozen or so under 18. The pictures are from day two. Could not close the lid on either live well both days.
  17. Beautiful fish Seth.
  18. This year I went to an auto inflate tournament vest from Cabelas. Wore it all summer and it does not get in the way or make you hot.
  19. No reason for anyone to take more than their limit at anytime. There are limits for a reason. Everyone needs to do their part to insure than the fishery will be there for the next generation and depleting it in our lifetime is not the way to do that. We even have limits on the fish coming out of our farm pond and always have plenty of fish for the kids to catch.
  20. Not on Bull but we also hammered the hybrids and whites on Truman last week. Had boat limits of over 18's both days and one ten pounder that I got in. Had one on I couldn't turn and he eventually broke me off. Have not seen any striper reports on Bull lately.
  21. Haven't been on here for about a week so just saw your question. We usually go in June before it gets too hot. Was there last week and hammered the hybrids and whites.
  22. I have had my best walleye luck trolling wiggle warts in front of the dam. Takes a while to catch them but worth the wait.
  23. Neat video.
  24. Whenever we visit Truman I park my boat at Truman State Park marina. I remove all fishing gear and electronics. I have not had a problem with theft and I see rods left in boats overnight all the time. The only problem I have had at that marina is from storm damage to my boat. That place is a magnet for storms.
  25. Very good video. You should do more guide interviews. Informative about current conditions which I can use next week.
