  1. A few years back I had a couple Perche Creek Otter Duck Boats and sold them because of a divorce. I am wanting to see if I can find another one. If anyone has one that they would be willing to let go of for a decent price, let me know. Thanks.
  2. Get that thing mudded up, find the ducks or geese, and make sure you use plenty of surrounding vegetation from where you are hunting to make sure you blend in well. It will serve you well.
  3. Yes you can add a Duck Dog in, but the reason I didn't is because I never had one and still get out hunting. Usually just use my boat if it's too deep to retrieve by foot. There are also a handful of times that I have used a rod and reel with topwater stick bait. But I have hunted over duck dogs, and it is nice to have especially looking for cripples.
  4. Like they say it is addicting. Got bitten by the bug in the early 90's, first hunt was my brother and I at Eagle Bluffs CA with a dozen borrowed G&H decoys, folding chairs, cheap call, camo, waders, and guns. Hunkered down in Pool 11 North, killed 2 ducks and on first one ran in excitement to get it and got tangled in the weeds and took a slight dunk. Enough to get part of my jacket and arm soaked. Ever since then I was hooked, and never went deer hunting again. Met quite a few good people via duck hunting, and been on many good hunts. I mainly hunt public areas, cause I cannot afford duck hunting land or leases. It gets mighty ridiculous on prices of land and leases for duck hunting. Some times it feels like a rich man sport with all the gear, etc. But you do not need much most times to kill a few ducks. Just some good know how, scouting, and ability to adapt to hunting situations, and the ability to get yourself covered up to not be seen. Now I have acquired a bunch of gear over the years. IMO to be really versatile in duck hunting, it is best to have some sort of smaller boat, such as jon boat, or better yet a layout boat similar to Four Rivers Layout boat. That way you can hunt shallow water to somewhat deeper water, some lakes and rivers. I used to have several layout boats, but have sold all of them over time. You would possibly need a deer cart or similar to help haul gear if walking long distances. Layout blind for field hunting. A few dozen mallard dekes, or a mix bag of species. decent gun, decent waders, decent call, blind bag to carry some gear. I need to get myself out there again and enjoy it like I used to. Buy tags every year but have not made it out the past few years.
  5. Gotcha, will check compression first. What would an acceptable compression psi be for 9.9 yamaha? Thanks.
  6. They kind of drive me insane on Osage also, the few times I have tried. I do ok on Truman or Truman Spillway. Just need to get outboard running and setup on jon boat then can hit Osage to try some more. fishinwrench, You might get a few '96 Yamaha 9.9 repair questions coming your way if I run into any trouble. Wanting to work on it myself to learn. Have had some experience with an '68 20 HP Evinrude I used to own and repaired. But this Yamaha is only my second outboard to work on. Other owner said it ran, then quit and couldn't get started, and he put in storage. Looks brand new, but I haven't tried starting yet. I figure changing oil, replace impeller, spark plugs, clean carb, new gas can and line should be a good start.
  7. One day this spring when I get my jon boat set up, I will get my a$$ out and try to learn the "How to's" in Hybrid fishing to be consistent on the Osage.
  8. Might have to try the technique where he runs over the canoe to navigate a straight line through the mass of weekend partiers/floaters jamming up the river at certain spots.
  9. Seems to be working for me as well now. Thanks Phil and @DaddyO.
  10. Welcome to Ozark Anglers... I'm sure you will get lots of advice on Walleye and Stripers from the experts on here. Probably not from me, because I am still wanting to learn as well. Caught a couple walleye, but have not tried stripers yet. But hope to get the chance some day. Never tried Red fishing either. Only salt experience I have had is a few strawberry grouper, King Mackerel, and a few Barracuda on squid pieces off Key West. Keep in mind also there is a good striper fishing at Beaver Lake just a 100 miles West from your new place. Your new place is beautiful. I dream of having something like that when I retire. Good luck on your new adventrure.
  11. Sorry Phil but it still does not seem to be fixed at the moment. Using a windows 7 64 bit desktop, I was going to page 2 and got the attached error and also going back to page 1 and I get the error message as well. You can see by my screen capture it shows todays date and time.
  12. I bought one a few weeks back and agree they are fun. Have had many kills with mine, and now trying to pick one off in mid flight.

    What's Cooking?

If that truly is a heat stain on a polyurethane finish, you can use the following technique. By only on a polyurethane finish, if it is varnish then do not try it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqYl4zbFPH4 Give it try on a small spot first to see if it works before doing all of them.
  15. Can you purchase one of those test tubes at a local store like NAPA or AutoZone? I know you can get them online, just wanted to know if I can get local.

  18. Storage temps affect honey. Crystals form best around 50 - 60 degrees, it is kind of is a phenomenon as to why and when they form but it is because it has a high sugar content and its kind of unstable at certain temps. At temps below 50 degrees honey is thicker which slows the formation of crystals. Honey resists crystallization best at higher temperatures more than 77 degrees. When temps are 104 degrees it goes back to liquid. But do not go above 104 degrees or it will not be the same. The easiest way to get it back in to liquid form is to heat a pan of water to 95 - 104 degrees but no higher. Remove pan from heat and open the honey jar and set the jar in the pan for about 30 mins. That should do the trick to remove the crystals.
  19. Phil, would you be able to load the plugin for forumrunner.com so we can use on android devices? I installed forumrunner on my android device and did not find OzarkAnglers.com in the fishing forums. IPBBuddy is for IPhone.
  20. Just saw Phil's post on tapatalk. So I guess until Phil sees that Invision is working better with Tapatalk in future versions of Invision, we will not be able to use the forum via Tapatalk.
  21. I have same issue with my Android Phone and looking for a solution also. thanks. I have android 4.3 and I have uninstalled tapatalk and reinstalled it with no success in login in to ozarkanglers. I even removed ozarkanglers and put it back in my forums with no luck. My other forums work fine. I do notice that my forums I can login to have my username listed under the forum name in the app, but ozarkanglers does not. It is like it is maybe trying to log me in but I have not put in my username and password yet, or maybe it is trying to connect to the server and when it does at that point I can put in my username and password. Not sure. All I know is the forum is on my tapatalk app and when I select it all it does is try to connect with server and eventually fails. Until then I will try what I can to get it solved, but help or ideas would be appreciated.
  22. I enjoy fishing below Truman as well. Went down 2 weeks back in early afternoon and caught one hybrid about 4 lbs on a white slab buster with a slow retrieve. But that was the only fish I caught saw one other one caught and a white bass or two and a few crappie. I usually bring down a 12' crappie rod, 14' casting rod to cast lead spoons, and a 7' bass rod for casting hawg stick when they are hitting the topwater. Have fished there many years now and usually start around March. This year has been a little difficult for me. I am guessing because of the cool weather that has seemed to come and go this year so far. Have not quite been able to get there on the good bite I guess. Have only fished from the shore on both the old channel and in the tailrace. Have not fished via boat below cable so I do not have any experience or reports on that. The biggest hybrid I have ever caught down there was 13 lbs on a hawg stick. It ended up putting one of the treble hooks through my thumb when I grabbed it. Then after a few seconds after I saw that it was through my thumb it shook and slipped out by hand and ripped the back out my thumb. Just taped it up real quick so it would stop the bleeding and kept throwing the hawg stick for more. Because those top water bites do not last long some times.
  23. Thanks for the info Tim. I will have to look around at some of the flooded areas, oxbows, and blew holes. What type of crayfish are those that vacation posted above? I am assuming by his location in his profile he got them from Table Rock? Would those same species of crayfish be in the streams and rivers of central missouri or is that a different type around central missouri? Is there a preferred crayfish to eat in Missouri? Just trying to learn all I can. Thanks again to all for the info.
  24. The will be for eating.
  25. I see that a lot of people catch a lot of crawfish out of Table Rock in decent numbers and sizes. Since Jeff City is not very close to Table Rock, I was looking for other places to try my luck. Has anyone had any luck on other lake, rivers, or streams? Tell me your experience?
