  1. I have a question for anyone that would know. I am fixing to go back to canada for a week. Have been wondering about getting anouther fish mounted and was wondering about replicas. I have caught 4 northern pike in the 20 lb range, wonder how much one would cost to have it done???
  2. Anyone have a Heavy action, 7'6" to 9' baitcasting rod they want to part with. I am looking for a large rod to throw big musky stickbaits in canada. two piece prefered, but can be single.
  3. Great job same. Did u try any jigging spoons on the whites? Ive been killing them deep on it when the suns out bright.
  4. Bill, I have been fishing around point 12 for a week and a half now. Killing the small whites and cats, but not why i am posting. I have caught several blacks during each trip, couple in the 4's. I have seen open sours and/or fungus on at least 10 fish. tails, (top or middle), sides, back, and even one just behind the gill plate. Some are quarter size, some as large as plum. Any ideas on this, hope this isnt something that is going around.
  5. Anytime Sam, glad i can contribute to anyone catching fish. I pick up so much on here, i try to do what i can to repay. By the way, went this evening. A buddy wanted to go. started raining as we got there. toke bout 20 min to find a big school, and then it was on. Just before that big storm rolled over us, we were catching them as fast as we could get out. We were even making short casts so we could get them in the boat faster. When the storm finally hit us hard and wind switched, everything died. we probably caught 50 in an hour and 15 min. its still so fast its silly when u find them feeding. And yes we had a fun boat ride back, 3 foot swells, and stinging rain. But, we couldnt get the grins off of our faces. Glad to hear about the crappie, ill try for them next time.
  6. Nice, thanks cody. I am going to try that with my floro. Is it any good on mono too? or just a primary floro knot?
  7. Sorry to say, there is no access to piney from road really that i know of. someone else might know on hear, but Pineys is about a mile and half i think south of cape fair marina. And with the water up as it is, it would be a huge task to fish for them from the bank.
  8. Eugene Bend???? havent heard of that one. hows it done?
  9. Sam, im with ya. perfect sizing too. and ya, sows over 18" always go back, but are a blast to catch.
  10. Guess im up for punishment. Talked to a friend, ended up taking her and her 8 year old boy tonite for a couple hours. We caught fish until we hit fifty. Amazing how many are in there. We released all as i am tired of cleaning. And Yes, we were just keeping the size we wanted, didnt mean to say we were actually culling fish out of the livewell. Never do that except for tourneys with blacks. Just a thought, Steveearie, why would it be illegal anyways. Guys do it every day with Blacks!
  11. I have a report i have to share. But in Friday night at Cape Fair, just messing around. Caught 3 quality fish, and one 4.15lb bigmouth on a tappered point, outside of cool water cove. 16 foot deep with a swimbait. All four fish were STILL full of eggs, really suprised me. Next went to Piney to try and find some white bass. Mission was a success. caught my limit in the rain, most average size, with a few big sows. Toke a friend this morning, we pulled into piney at the break of daylight. toke almost 20 minutes to find the feeders, and the trip was on. we limited out in 45 minutes, culling for just the size we wanted. overall, we lost count at 100 fish caught, and that was by 9:30 mind u. Caught a dozen blacks mixed in, most shorts but two keepers. It was had at times to not catch a fish on every cast. Most whites were average males, maybe even a little smaller, but not the dinks that were roaming the james. MAN, what a blast. we figure we caught over 150 by 11 when we decided to call it quits. Most all whites were caught on shad raps or quarter ounce jigging spoons, but anything really that looked like a 3-4 inch shad and moving somewhat fast would catch them. At daylight, the biggest school of fish were near the back of the cove, near the cut line, and as the morning went on, they slowly moved toward the mouth. Found fish anywhere from 8 foot to as deep as 30. most were suspended at 12 foot and would run the the surface to catch a bait. Anyone wanting to take a kid fishing, this would be an awesome trip. No telling how long they will be there, I am going back in the morning before daylight, taking my father........Good Luck.....
  12. On tablerock, Bill Babler, Bill Beck, Don House, and Eric Prey would be the only ones I would recommend, and I have lived within spitting distance of the tricky girl (rock) my whole life.

  16. Predator, I put in tuesday evening at mccord bend. caught whites almost everywhere above there. never found anything but some males, and a lot of the dinks. didnt keep any but had almost 40. the water was just slowing down then and was clearing fast.
  17. sam, i was planning on going sunday with my kids. do u think the crappie were there just to windy, or was they still deep?
  18. Was looking to find out if anyone has been catching crappie around Bridgeport??? Thinking of taking kiddos sunday, and was wondering if they are nesting now? Any info would be wonderful. Thanks. By the way, attached pics are from McCord Bend tuesday evening. We had a blast. Spoonbill and limited on whites.

    Yikes

Snakes are just a fun reptile to play with... But PWCs, i have made a homemade lure for them. Couple years ago I took an old Zara Spook, took off the hooks, drilled and added some bb's, and painted it bone white. But that on a 7' spinning rod set-up and start casting were u see them. But for some reason, the pesky things go the other way!!!
  23. moto man, just curious. glad to hear the blade turned on for you. if u dont mind, what was the depth of the hits and generally what kind of bank?
  24. Great day Techo. went out and tried today, bounced all over and had no luck, shorties on a stick. Good luck in the Aia. After tomorrow, id love to know what the reason was that i stuck up the stick today......
  25. Wackem, good luck with the tourney. what area was u fishing? im fixing to start some late nights, if i find any kind of a bite i will post it for everyone.
