  1. wow, not one big name in the bunch. And no one local. anyone know bout what pattern they are on, just curious. and does anyone know if it will be aired on tv????
  2. heh tightline, we had to cross paths yesterday. I fished from ashers all the way to bottom of blunks. never found anything other than the dinks. Maybe this rain will bring in the better ones. we did our best on white also, but dont under estimate the purple swimming minnows. but this rain will change everything.
  3. whites have been found, and they are dinks....lol. toke in this morning and 3 of us caught around 30 but all but one was so small it was funny. Tiny whites everywhere. caught them at longs camp up to mcCord bend. Crappies didnt cooperate. Anyone found any whites with any size??
  4. fishmn, about where was u fishing, kings? and what was your bait of choice?
  5. Kirk, The best way i have found to catch cats on tablerock, at least in the main lake where i do most of my fishing, is by trotline. about April to when they spawn is a great time, and after they spawn its not bad. Ive went pole fishing with very limited success on the main lake, but im not a pro either. I have had plenty of luck with poles from cape fair on up the james and flat creek. Try to time the trip with raising dirty water as thats when my buds normally sack the fish. worms and fresh cut shad are tops in there eyes, but fresh shad can be a pain to cast net sometimes. anything more specific just let me know, ill give ya all i know, im sure there are people on here that would know a little more...
  6. Trav, ive fished in ontario a lot and have been thinkin of chasin some toothy critters on pom. When is suppose to be the best time of the year to find a couple?

    Sheds

im plannin a trip to one of my hunting areas in late febuary. Dont think most drop till mid feb. But did find a big eight point shed bowhunting bout 4 years ago on january 8th. but dont want to waste the time till its more productive.
  8. Be going in the afternoon. Dont know if I will have enough time to go to bs. if not i will be going tr in indian creek.
  9. wonderful report. Thanks a million. Now I have to go fishing....
  10. Speaking for the guys like myself, that dont get to get out but once a week if that, and maybe for only 3 to 4 hours, I want to thank everyone, especially the pros on here, for all the info that is released. We all realize that not 'every' good spot is posted, and not to be expected, but this forum has helped me learn by leaps and bounds on areas and techniques. So Thanks from me, and keep them coming......applause. P.S. others in my postion should show some love, or it all might be lost.
  11. I know that I have purchased two rifles, and have a high capacity glock 40 cal on order and should recieve it in the next 6 weeks. Guess its time for me to buy so ammo....
  12. thanks guys, might head to bull then to try the mixed bag thing. Anyone know if they are still catching them or did they turn off. reports are before this cold front came through.
  13. Anyone have any ideas on what these cold temps will do to the deep bite. Thoughts of going sunday and was wondering if the temps might drop the water temp some and kill some of the shad, or is tablerock still to warm? Or might run over to upper bull to give those a try?
  14. Ya, what is the regs on the yellow perch. Ive caught them while crappie and white fishin. Always let them go, just never caught the fat ones. But might venture out that way next week.
  15. We started using a new one recently, seems to have helped. Ill check on which brand it is. was looking throu some of the older pics....lol....flying squirrel....I have almost 400 pics of bucks in the last 3 years. its a lot of fun to watch them mature over the years. I think I have found pics of "spread" from 07. he has really improved. and the fun part is that he only looks three and half years old, two to three years before his full maturity. This summer and fall I will keep a post of pics to show how their antlers grow, its amazing to watch from june to august.
  16. whitetails love locus beans, but normally only after the first good freeze. The starchs compound when they freeze to make it more pautable and sweeter tasting. I have late season bowhunted over stands of them couple of times with great results.
  17. T1365, was u in Little Indian Creek bout 2 to 3? Saw some guys fishin as I went out. I got on the water bout 2. Had one hit one deep bite, missed it in the wind. Didnt get anouther look. hard to stay put in the swirling wind.
  18. Ok, im lost on my problem. See what you guys think as of what i am doing wrong. I have a 16 alum. bass tracker with one x-15 on the trolling motor, works wonderful. I purchased anouther used unit from a friend for the rear last year. But on a rear mount transducer for it. It starts to work and then goes plank, slowly losing bottom as it goes fuzzy and blinking the depth. Now, thought Unit had went bad so switched units. The newer unit works fine in front, older unit now goes fuzzy in the rear. I have changed them out three times now. The transducer is mounted on the rear of boat. center of trand. is bout 3/4" below bottom of boat. Level, as I have checked many times for that. Is it the alum. hull that is interfering with signal, or something I havent thought of??? Any ideas? Also, newer unit has water spots all over the screen, even on back side. Anyone know how to clean (disassemble and clean) one or do I need to get a new screen for it.
  19. It stands near hwy 13 and DD hwy, south of Branson West. I have hunted the area since i was a kid and never saw deer like this till bout 5 years ago. The area doesnt get much hunting pressure anymore (me included) with all the new houses and think it allows the bucks to grow older and show their genetics.
  20. Going back this summer to White Dog lake on the Winnepeg River system in Ontario. kcrcamp.com. Great place and wonderful people. Ive been going since i was 15. this should be my 8th trip. Never had a bad trip. Walleyes and Northers with a few smallies inbetween. If anyones interested, they ought to look them up. Great small time place where everything is personable and down to earth.
  21. New pics, new buck, havent seen him yet. Think we will name him Spread.
  22. Here are some pics from 2008 deer season. 10 point killed in Tarkio, MO. Boy killed a 5 point. 8 point killed in Tarkio, MO. Deer camp partner killed a 17 point, if u count EVERY small point. Great deer. Taken within 50 yards of where I toke my 10 point a month earlier.
  23. Saw a couple of cam pics and thought Id share some. What do ya think?
  24. NEVERMIND.... .....found it again.
