  1. I'm a little younger and get a little more agitated still, After you backed out, you should have jack knifed his trailer to the left. It's amazing what people will do without concern for others.
  2. Nice story, but the pics aren't working yet!
  3. People who leave trash at the river need to have it chained to their neck till it rots off or till they do. These type of people have ruined lots of good access spots.
  4. Interesting the way they done it. Thanks for sharing. Your firepit firewood is getting low, haha.
  5. Thanks for sharing, you lucky dog.
  6. Normally it's no big secret on the James for whites, and it's usually discussed here by now. I'd have reported something, but have had my attention on other areas fishing and have not been down there yet. It's gotta be going a little by now, if not it will be hot soon
  7. I would say no. I was down there fishing off the bank this evening and caught my limit or crappie. Most were about 12 inchers.
  8. If you're headed for Upper Taney by the dam, you should do well. Me and my boy was there yesterday and caught quite a few white bass and some good smallmouth and largemouth. We also saw a few trout being caught.
  9. 5 flood gates open at the dam right now. Bass and white bass biting pretty good
  10. No I saw Jackson move but didn't notice you got that close to it. One boat went 20 yards past the cable. I can see someone getting in a pickle, especially with that cable close to the water. Next time just fish down the bank, it's not like it'd be a big deal to the fish. I watched several boats motor up, stop, drop jigs and catch them within a few moments of shutting the motor down. If it weren't for you and this site, I wouldn't even think of fishing where I was, You'll never be in my way on the water. I'm sure Jackson will be watching that cable next time, haha.
  11. Yes it was me and my son. I seen you come up a couple times.
  12. Also found these funny looking things around while fishing today
  13. Thanks for the report. Me and the boy went again and saw you. We only caught 3 trout and 1 bass. 1 of the trout had gorged itself with small shad. Probably had 15 in its belly and it was a small trout.
  14. Will the bass and other warm water species continue to bite after all the gates are shut? I was thinking of coming down today but didn't know if it was worth the try if there's no warm water being put thru the dam. And I'm not much of a trout fisherman.
  15. Do you know if there's any difference in water temperature with only 1 gate open?
  16. Me and my son went down there this afternoon for a few hours. We were using jigs. We caught a handful of trout, 2 small walleye, 1 smallmouth, and 2 largemouth. Only 1 gate was still open, which was a disappointment.
  17. I went down with the canoe loaded down with tackle and my 9 year old son on the intention of hitting a couple spots and checking out the Beaver Creek rumor. We didn't make it past our first location and fished for big bluegills for a couple hours and left with about 30-40 hand sized perch. Wish I would of searched for some whites/walleye/crappie but it didn't happen. Swan Creek literally had thousands of fish swimming every direction when we stopped by. Did not see much of a bite there though.
  18. Wow, can only imagine how many boats will be there tomorrow with this nice weather and fish biting. thanks for the heads up.
  19. I'm tempted to buy it just so I can run trees over like that video.
  20. Not any more. You used to be able to drive down to the river on the East side years ago.
  21. I wish that's what that meant. Usually if there's a good bite, you gotta discover it yourself. People don't share much on that area.
  22. It's for sure a doable float. I float it a couple times a year and rarely see anyone. It's short but has some switchback spots that can log jam easily after floods. It's probably someones secret spot, but I've had real good success fishing that stretch. Water is usually real stained though from the powerplant above. If you do float it, keep in mind one time I floated years ago and someone had put a full size Bass Boat at the bridge on 160 in somehow and I saw them right before Rivercut Bridge. Just around the bend was a log jam and I always wondered how they got themselves out of that situation, because going back upstream on that stretch really isn't an option, you will see.
  23. I was down at Powersite today and the water had real good color, no mud.
  24. You may not be letting them get deep enough also. Usually as slowly as possible will help with bites with an occasional snap of the rod and let it settle back.
