  1. A guy had one on the NFOW last year at Patrick Bridge. Helped him load it onto the bed of his pickup. There's no way he could have done that himself. As it was we got some of the back part (motor end) up on the tailgate and the thing slipped on us onto the gravel. Gave it a second try and got it loaded. Heavy.
  2. Jonesing for a good prime rib. Going to be there sun-wed. All suggestions welcome Heard of Champaigns and Plaza View. Help a guy will ya?
  3. Yea my new Pixma 6620 doesn't either. Just ordered a new set (11 cartridges ) $53.79 hope someone can use em
  4. After I ordered a bunch of ink cartridges for my Canon Pixma printer it shot craps. Naturally the printer I bought can't use these. Don't want to just throw them away. If anyone can use them I'd gladly put them in a box and send them to ya. They are LD-MG6120 cartridges. Suitable for use in Canon Pixma MG6120,6220,8120 8120B and 8220. There's about 20 cartridges altogether.
  5. Duh. Looks like accuweather.com
  6. Where I have a problem is private waters vs public waters. Four or 5 of us are fishing a lg bluegill nd small bass infested lake. We throw a bunch- 20-30 or so 10-12" bass in an ice chest and 100 or better gills in another one. Guessin we could get screwed real good if one of the agents had a bad morning, Right? Still BS
  7. Looking to buy prescription sunglasses. No-line bifocals. Bought pr last yr (paid dearly) but theyare really not what I want. (my fault). Let in way too much light from the sides. Want some wrap-around type glasses. Have my prescription from last time. But, without trying them on (kind of impossible to order on-line because I want them to fit my face well. Seen possibilities on line at SportRx. Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks
  8. As long as it is legal in the area you are fishing, (not sure about Ark regs, but not many places in MO where they are allowed. - gotta find those yourself - sculpins are a great bait for browns) Frowned upon ?-- frown away. Sculpins I find are usually in fairly swift clean cold water. Under med to med large rocks. Similar to crawfish habitats. I normally will use a small net (i.e. aquarium type.) to get them. A south MO guide/outfitter advised to cut into them down one side of the backbone and then the other side. (sort of like butterflying them) Leaving the fillets hanging. I also recommend the circle hooks but even when I haven't used them , I have rarely gut hooked a fish. And I'm not sorry if I have offended anyone saying I used dead sculpins for bait because I'm not offended when anyone uses a fly under a cork (oh sorry- indic-ator)
  9. Thanks for all the insight gentleman. Have been to the Keys - what a magnificent place. Still there in the back of my mind. The Venice La area for big redfish has to be near the top of what we'd like to do. On a little smaller scale, anyone fished below Pickwick Lake for the big smallmouth and stripers ? Again , both retired and can get out of here fairly quickly. Spin fisherman as opposed to flyrodders (not that there's anything wrong with that). Thanks again gents.
  10. Got $5000 or so each. Want to catch some fish. Like gulf coast for big redfish and trout. Not big on offshore fishing. Looking for a nice lodge and a few days of good fishing .Please, any recommendations ? And, we're old retired guys.-(like do it before its too late) .
  11. Have a friend that has property about 20 mi S of Rolla. Has had 25-35 wintering there for the past 7yrs or better. Have pics somewhere of them on his lawn.
  12. Actually, I should have listened to my pop when he said "Are nuckin futs ?"

  14. Great couple of days on an unnamed river, using an unnamed bait. Just my brother and me trout fishing (legally), one 20" two 18"s three or four 16"s and another 30 or so down from there. Missed a lot by setting hook too early, not wanting to gut hook any. Did have to cut one line, rest were caught at the lips.
  15. Very hesitant to respond to this topic. That being said, I don't feel that there is only one way to fish. I love catching fish period. If I can use lures etc (the only way apparently, according to smalliebgs ) then I will use them. But I have and will continue to use live bait in many circumstances. Caught many very large largemouth and smallmouth floating an extra large minnow near their hangouts. Last Wed, I used an unnamed bait on an unnamed river and caught 10 browns and 1 rainbow from 12-16" in a short time, and 1 12 " smallmouth plus an assortment of suckers. ALL fish were hooked in the mouth. And I didn't use circle hooks (which I believe are great for cats but not so much on other fish (for me)). I don't knock fly fishermen for their prefered method of fishing. Yes, I fly fish some too. But to knock anyone for using what they enjoy, whatever that may be, to me is not cool. BTW, I have some of the Case hellgrammites in a couple of colors and sizes. (whoever was looking for them shoot me a PM and I'll throw them in the mail for ya). And good fishing to all,

    Spoonbill

Had the good fortune of catching a 55lb spoonbill at LOZ on 4/24. There was probably 7-9lbs of roe in that fish. I don't have any idea how to make it work, but it seems such a major waste of a resource to throw those eggs into the water. You can't just cut offf a deer head and throw the rest away. Just didn't seem like a cool thing to do.
  17. Nice fish congrats. On Insbruck, it is all private. Apparently the lot owners don't like any grass tickling their toes when they step in the water. I believe MO con dept recommends 1 grass carp per acre. The big lake on this side is about 120 acres or so. I'm sure there are thousands of grass carp in there. Seen 'em. Gotta be careful where you fish, some of the residents feed THEIR catfish and don't like people fishing for them. At times have caught very nice bluegill and redear.
  18. Would advise aganist using a bow at Innsbruck. Not allowed. As far as the grass carp go, they are probably in every lake there. Been fishing ouit there for 12 yrs or so ever since my brother built his home out there. Tons of cats in the lakes. No fishing pressure whatsoever. 100 lakes, ponds.

  20. PLEASE-- do not call 911 if you see someone keeping trout you don't think is keepable. 911 is for EMERGENCIES. That is NOT an emergency.
