  1. From wooly to above cape is great color. Fished the Joe Bass Saturday and ran up there. Crank.
  2. Fished today and went I the James. Got above buttermilk and I turned around. Mud mud mud and debris everywhere. Fishing was tough on me today only had 2 keepers and 6 shorts
  3. Fished today with my son. Started off throwing a rig and jerk bait. Had 3 keepers in a couple hours. Scrapped that and ran up the James. Caught around 10 more keepers on crank and spinnerbait. Had a 5.07 on the spinnerbait. We weighed 17.49 for 5th place. Had a good day with my son and the fishing was pretty good too.
  4. Did for just couple hours this afternoon had 2 keepers caught 5 total. Spinner, buzz and plopper. Had double on plopper. Fished aunts creek
  5. Those are some great pics and I'm sure great times. Same thing I found up there the other day. Small crank bite was best.
  6. Back today with not near as good results. 12 total with 2 keepers. Keepers came on plopper. All shorts on spoon and swimbait.
  7. Fished from daylight to 10:30 this morning. Caught 2 good blacks early on spinnerbait. Caught 8 more on swimbait and spoon with 3 keepers. Finished up with a plopper and had 2 more keepers on it before calling it a day. Messed around with the megalive and finally got it somewhat dialed in and could see quite a bit with how I have it set. Really neat what I was able to see with it. Will keep tinkering with it to I get used to using it. I'm a bank beater but I could see my swimbait at 70 ft today. Back again in the morning.
  8. I'm using the lews 7'11" LSD1. Medium action. Only rated to 3/4oz. But I haven't had any issues that I know of. Casts well, good rod for fighting fish. May need to get a 7'4"and see.
  9. Could have been shorts, but generally you don't miss many like your talking about. Maybe some small whites. I'll get up that next week maybe, will let you know.
  10. I not much of a deep cranker main lake. All up the river for me. I will l be playing with my new Phoenix over the next few weeks trying to figure out how to run my settings on mega live. In the Joe Bass Saturday we thought it would be a 6xd day, but only managed 1 keeper and some shorts. Flutter spoon was the ticket and the mega live helped with tasty decision. Although not really set up like I think it should be, it helped. One day I'm headed that way to crank I'll message you.
  11. That really stinks. Had the same thing happen on Tuesday from a square bill. Had it cut out in ER. Too deep and no angle to pull out. Also fished Long Creek today, fishing the Joe Bass. Had 16.83 for 5th. Caught them all on 6xd and flutter spoon. Caught 10 keepers and 10-12 shorts. 20lb. Won.
  12. Thats so awsome, tell Coop it has to go in the family room for everyone to see.
  13. I've started using Yozuri braid with Yozuri fc leader. I use 15lb braid and 8lb leader. I like their stuff. Very inexpensive and their fc is super good in my opinion.
  14. According to Corp, Table Rock up about 3.7 inches from around midnight. Running over 11,000cfs at noon and 1.
  15. Yes all 3
  16. The fish i caught today were fairly shallow
  17. Fished from 11-4:30 caught 8 with 3 keeps. Caught fish on rk, jerk, underspin, and arig. WT was 45.9 to 46.6. Fished in sight of bridge the entire time.
  18. We did find some moss where we first started cranking, the further up we went in the more off colored water, the less we ran into. Seemed like from Pt. 13 up we did not encounter any.
  19. Well, we threw the RK more, so we caught more on it, but our biggest one, a 5.90 came on a wart. I like both, like the wart better, but I like that I can get a RK deeper easier. Been experimenting since last year with throwing the RK on 15# fc, make as long a cast as I can and I can get the depth I need, just need to do that with a wart I guess. But using the 15# hasn't seemed to negatively affect me. Or at least I tell myself it hasn't.
  20. Fished the Joe Bass with my son, had a great day and caught a lot of fish. Cranked a RK and wart most all day, did throw a jerkbait a little early. Ran up the James and just fished channel swings. Caught several fish, 15 keepers. Our 5 we weighed came in at 16.60, good enough for 10th place out of 61 boats. WT was 48-50 up the James on Saturday. Great water color. Best color for us was red/black combo. I think 21 and some change won and 7lb was big bass. Lots of limits weighed in. Good luck when you get to go.
  21. Spent the morning at old 86 shoveling ice and clearing a path for the trailer. Got that done as it started melting, ran back got the boat and fished with my son for about 4 hours. Had 7 in the boat all on arig all keepers. Ended up being a really good day with my son age caught a few to boot. wt was 45.4. That lot was clear when we left. Good luck and be safe.
  22. Fished for awhile today to see what the water temp was. 45 most everywhere. Fished a jerkbait all day. Had 5 bites all keepers. Stayed in some wind all day, some places had good ripple some it was howling. Pause of about 5 seemed right today. Good luck when you get to go.
  23. Awesome job Dock.
  24. Have been using Wright McGill Rick Clunn version. 7 ft, it's composite and listed as a clear water square bill rod. But I have find it to be great with a RK. Pretty limber, but holds fish well and I don't get hang that RK as much.
  25. I have pretty much strictly went yozuri line all flouro, only mono I use is excel 8# green for jerkbait fishing. Has held up really well. Been cranking lately with 14# yozuri as it has 12# diameter. It has performed very well in my opinion.
