I use both, it may be possible, but I do not know how to use anchor feature without remote. Still adjusting to the pedal as with a cable drive I knew the direction by position of my foot, and it has a quicker response. The remote I use the anchor feature a lot, it is also handy if i am retying while changing spots can just point and go from anywhere in the boat. From what I understand the MG has a better anchor system. I had done a seminar with the Minn Kota folks and was able to buy mine at 40% off or would have likely went with MG

Lots of fish on brush 15-20 fow, but we fished numerous piles up the lindley 1 crappie, we beat the bank a bit nothing we tried minnows, jigs of many wts and colors just closed lips.... May try again this afternoon...Toughest day I think I have ever had on Pomme

I have the Terrova and like Jdoc says it has its weaknesses. Yesterday the remote simply quit, replaced battery still dead.... found out that I am addicted to the anchor feature fishing brush piles so just came home instead of operating by foot. g

If you have a float tube or light canoe you can pack 1/2 mile or so there are some excellent strip pits at the south end of Prairie State Park on MDC land and access.... not sure if those little guys are in there though.

maybe restrict out of state anglers to specific waters, city anglers too, been on the White River Chain all my 58 years, gigged probably 50, not near as informed about gigging as many on this form claim to be. Why come to such a awful place to fish...... ???? IF you do not like, do not have to come.
