  2. Not sure how muchresearch you have put into your chosen college but I would suggest joining the fishing/club/team and go from there. http://www.atu.edu/prha/aboutfishingclub.php G They also have a Facebook page
  3. Sweet, tight lines!
  4. Tandem or single axel

  6. The old bridge at galena on James river and the bridge on flat creek road on flat creek
  7. Kyle is a Great Guy also...
  8. Junior Crow Phone Number: (870) 427-2333 (Landline) used to do some smallmouth guiding, on Crooked Creek in Arkansas, he lives in Pyatt. Super Guy.
  9. Nice gotta get some battries
  10. What Ham says and Phil's rods, I have shook every rod in Bass Pro, Springfield, Branson and St. Louis, Finn and Feather Springfield, Scheels in IL and Cabelas in St. Louis by far those three choices are much better. my 2 cents g
  11. Having messed with motors on canoes a bit, couple of questions. Is it a square back or or you going to use one of those detachable motor mounts? Square back will handle most any, side mount sometimes a challenge. I had a 2 hp Mairner, great but no neutral. Got a 4 hp Mariner, neutral and reverse, too darn big on the side mount. Currently have a 3.3 mercury that does great. That said, a close friend has one of those 3 hp Evinrude folding motors, will need a fuel tank and line, that can be bought for $200, very good shape. IF you are interested I can get it hooked up and make sure it works properly.. but in my opinion too large for a side mount on canoe... g
  12. Sounds like he got good advice from someone?????? LOL! Good job guys.

  14. And the smallest jet you can get is in the 40/30 range?\ The smallest new 2 stroke I am aware of would be the Evinrude E-tec at 25/20, a Buddy runs one and it is a fine motor, much smaller and lighter than the 4 strokes. Wish I was closer to you, so I could take you out with both. One of the places I had trouble with one March was putting in at the swinging bridge on 110 and going up, the jet was great on the thin water but a nightmare sucking the coontail in the large holes. I run my jet 95% of the time, but on the Little Red 0.
  15. had this link left from my pack experiment: http://riverbassin.com/forum/showthread.php?6436-My-Rendition-of-the-Tricked-Out-Old-Town-Guide-119 I am out of the pack business, 14'9" lots better for a 250 lb old man.... Tight lines. g
  16. X2 plus good fishing. C&R or motor up to C&K.
  17. I have a merc 25-20 jet and a 9.9 merc longshaft prop, I innerchange to meet needs. (the longshaft will run on the high transom) Having fished the Little Red several times I can tell you the only time I used the jet was the first trip. It was unfamiliar water, so I was going slow. But the jet sucked up so much of that coon tail that I was wore out cleaning it out, those big mats were just brutal for me. This was all on low water. Each trip since the 9.9 prop has preformed flawlessly. If you consider a jet, be sure and look at the Tohatsu 40/25, or the etec as they are still two stroke, smaller and lighter than the 4 strokes. Botton line, the Little Red is not that "big" of river, I would go with a 9.9 prop maybe get it adjusted to 15.
  18. I also am going to modify my chain with the inner tube as Ham has explained. The only difference is that I use and will continue for an extra layer of safety release I have a basically a fairly heavy wire that I connect to the eye of the boat, hard pull it turns loose.
  19. Posted this on the Crappie.com Missouri Site, as they have "Ask the Conservation Agent" fourm, here is the reply from MOfishmgr: "Our Protection staff confirmed that discretion would be considered. If you're standing on the end of the dock at a busy ramp relieveing yourself you'd get written up! Maybe a good rule of thumb would be if you wouldn't go there if your grandmother was around, find a different spot!" g
  20. Could some of the accesiories be removed to lower price? I plan on being up for St. Pat's
  21. downloaded from MDC to computer, opened and saved with easy GPS then put on SD Card, used HumminbirdPC clicked on file on top left hand corner opened and saved to HumminbirdPC, then when done put on another SD card to load in unit. Have to restore default settings to load on unit. http://www.humminbird.com/FAQ.aspx?ContentId=1738 hope this helps, If at the lake can just let you download off my card. g
  22. If you think 5 years before your kids can fish, they have not been conceived yet.... my boys were fishing before they could walk, youngest was in the boat 10 days old. (made them sleep in life jackets) The paddle john Rich listed is likely the most versitle value out there river and lake. g
  23. Been a while since I have done it but will be working on tomorrow, this is where I will start: http://www.dougvahrenberg.com/files/Humminbird_How_To_s_for_Customers2.pdf Will post more after I "re learn " the process, only fault I have in this system is with the MDC files the names are all too long so I end up with 200 being Stockton and I can not see the number.
  24. While above I list my jeep and motorcycle, they are generally just here local. If i go far from home I prefer using an outfitter, good value, and piece of mind. One year a flash flood came on the Buffalo and we were able to call the outfitter we hired to come "rescue" us by picking us up river. I can also attest that Brian can give you a fishing report that is worth the price of the shuttle. g
