  1. Have put this on a fiberglass and a Alum boat. Can not attest to how long it will wear, but it makes things slick, do not want to unhook from trailer before boat is in water or it will be on ramp. http://airboatcoatings.com/ Scott was honest to deal with in every aspect. g
  2. State Parks are open, I was evicted from Dam Site and moved, first time evicted....
  3. Al, I am a little confused. I know you spend a lot of time on the River, and am confident you can distinguish gig marks from herons etc. My question is are these fish, dead, cleaned, or alive. If they are dead or cleaned shoot a photo, gps to MDC, might provide evidence or ? If they are alive, are these poachers (note poachers not giggers) practicing some type of morbid catch and release? Just having a hard time getting my head around it. We also need to understand that the suckers eat large numbers of sow bugs helligimites etc. without some type of control they would likely out compete many fish for food as they could become overpopulated... I distain the poachers as much or more than yourself and Scott, but respect the sport and conservation tool. Thanks
  4. Seen a guy on Taney with a 50# bag of fish chow, seemed to be catching pretty good.....guess that is catching rather than fishing.

  6. Sold, gone took my loss, Thanks
  7. Think it is sold, guy is supposed to pick up Tuesday evening. Thanks
  8. Lowered price to $675 here first, still on Craigs at 725
  9. I am open to offers, do not have to sell just not using it, can wait until Spring, maybe I am too high?
  10. This one seems a bit pricy but looks in good condition: http://springfield.craigslist.org/boa/3938194655.html g
  11. Look at the welds Alweld is hands down better welded, in my opinion far better quality, the price reflects that too. but function about the same. I run some alum and some fiberglass, I do love my 20 ft. glass boat. If going for only one boat, it would be a 1848 Alweld, Tahatsu 25 jet, AND a 9.9 long shaft 2 stroke and interchange as seasons conditions dictate 25 jet jumps it up fine and legal on 11pt. Makes it legal on Buffalo.... One thing I would suggest... Split rear seat, much more comfortable to operate.... and move around, and switch sides.... my 2cents. g
  12. Check Busch Wildlife and Lone Elk no trout but decent fishing. http://www.stlouisco.com/ParksandRecreation/MapsFacts/FishingLocations http://www.stlouisco.com/ParksandRecreation/ParkPages/LoneElk http://mdc4.mdc.mo.gov/applications/moatlas/AreaSummaryPage.aspx?txtAreaID=4901
  13. My point exactly...
  14. Gee Al, You mean to tell me these companies will not follow the law and use safe measures? Goodness, just look at what a fine job BP is doing cleaning up the Gulf! Oh, I can not remember what caused the spill...but they are cleaning it up nicely...
  15. Hands down the best place, for the same or better trailer, save a grand....and a darn good family tell him Griz sent you: http://www.budsmotorsports.com/ up by Conway, but worth the drive g
  16. Bakers Ford to Gilbert is 11.7 miles, pretty long day if you are fishing, Tyler Bend to Gilbert is is just 5.6 miles, but gets a lot of traffic. Brownie, Thursday should be good, but that section gets much more fishing pressure, but it should be ok. Better than Friday when we floated through, but there are usually too many humaniods around Tyler and Grinders... but lots of good holes and a pleasant float. The smallies seem to tend to be behind things, be sure and fish the down side of large rocks and laydowns. Tight Lines g
  17. Floated Mt. Hershey-Gilbert 6/19-21, longer than I like for 3 days but... Water was too low Mt. Hershey to Baker Ford, but fishing was fair just got tired of draging nearly every shoal. No big fish, but many 12-13 inchers. Best luck was on a small chompers double tail grub and small 4 in plastic. worm, red flake watermelon and motor oil seemed to be the best colors. The float from Bakers Ford to Gilber was quite nice, not out of the canoe a single time to drag. But fishing was slower. Special thanks to Bobber, for his recommendations Gilbert Store was great on the shuttle, and the Gilbert Cafe was EXCELLENT. g
  18. Put in at Hermitage today, took nearly 6 hrs. but managed a limit. 21-24 ft. water, brush about 15 ft. Minnows caught most, some on a horse head green punkin seed cart. tail. only 3-4 shorts all day, 10" plus females spawned out no biggins. Sometimes just heavy, sometimes tried to take the rod.... slow, but, cookin tomorrow on the creek. Just vertical fishing. Usually could seem them active right on top of the brush. Tight Lines. g
  19. That's when they put me in the canoe naked in December and launch me at Greer.... for some local outfitter to find....
  20. Well, think Al said what I tried to, much better communicator than I.
  21. You can pm bobber on this board or contact him through his web site: http://floatthebuffalo.com/ If he does not have what you need Ozark Mt. Trading Co has some, they have stores in Ozark, MO and Garfield, AR. They have several on the water days each year and you can compare several, I really like that. They will be happy to take the full posted price, but they will dicker, I have had the price and boat I wanted before I left the house last time over the phone. http://www.ozarkmtc.com/index.html
  22. The best product I have found to repair those gouges etc. that Al speaks of is G Flex, if you will get thier news letter Jameston will offer free shiping about once a month. http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=8694&familyName=West+System+G%2FFlex+Liquid+Epoxy+Kits On the pack I had to move the seat fwd quite a bit to flatten out, per Al's advice, not as far as Al recommended as I keep a fairly large cooler up front. I experimented with some Kevlar cloth rather than felt, for skid plates trying to avoid the handling difference Al speaks of, while functional they are ugly or I would have sold the pack and bought a Wenonah as it would be a better fit for my fat butt.
  23. Well, Two of my best friends have apps, if we float together, they want me to bring the old tripper. But both love their apps, one is a sailboat/surf/paddle board guy, he needs to reduce his caffine intake. The other is a very good canoe handler and fisher man. The guy dumped at clabber traded his app for a guide 14 7 about half the value...... you have to stay on top of the app, Buffalo more forgiving. I would not stand up to p out of the app, buffalo no worries.
