  9. When the water/highway patol gets you in cuffs you may be sorry... I put mine on in my truck in your neck of the woods
  10. Ten years ago I made fun of guys like me.... now I are one..... not maturing as graceful as I would like....
  11. Pete, the best PFD is the one you will wear. I probably have 25-30 around here, everything from self inflating to cheap simple vest. As I often paddle alone in some remote areas I need to wear one as my maturity advances. The money spent on the self inflating was a waste for me, for some reason it just seemed to be in my way (if I would lose 30# it might work better) The others were not comfortable in a seated position. I finally bought a paddling vest from Academy, It is comfortable enough that I will wear it rather than laying in the floor of the boat. It has some pockets sufficient to hold a fly box, tippet etc. Try on several, to see what fits you, this is the one I settled on: http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/no-limits-sabine-red-personal-flotation-device?repChildCatid=1017505 g
  12. Wish my ole 16x36 was in that good of shape, but it has not seen much slick water, it is a 72 model been a warrior.
  13. Wrench what is the floor in that rig......? Looks great.
  14. Have read all on Al's list, just finished one that I think is swell: The White River Chronicles of S. C. Turnbo, Man and Wildlife on the Ozarks Frontier, Selected and Edited by James F. Keefe and Lynn Morrow. Stumbled on it looking for some of the other titles listed in this chain at the Springfield Greene Co. library. It is a number of stories that Mr. Turnbo had written in the early 1900's based on interviews that he had made in the late 1800's and early 1900's. It has great information on nearly every creek and river in the drainage from Forsyth to the mouth of the Buffalo with and number of hunting stories and Civil War insights. It was briefly shared with Bill Babler and Terrierman, who both think they want to read. Checking it back in tomorrow. g
  15. We missed you buddy!
  16. Tough fishing, but still a Great time with a bunch of great guys and fishermen. Look forward to this every year. Riley's is a neat place to stay, Very nice folks N9bow's beautiful colored rainbow A 22" brown, still owe Terrierman a dollar for the net job! . Terrierman warming up and visiting with LRF at the lodge, Great Food, many stories and ideas shared, a blast
  17. Sounds great Bret we are going to fish rim today. Think phone will work there.
  18. Can we write our names in it? LOL
  19. Bret, I think we should be good on boats, Ham and I should each have at least one open seat, Quillback and Pete will be with us, and you know Pete and his "fly rod addiction" Rick has that 48" with the flat floor that is SWEET! Hope it works for you to come. g
  20. We will certainly miss you my friend. do not think Rick''s knees will allow him to match your break dance.... and the can smoker can not drive itself over. g
  21. Quillback, no worries, if you get in and want to fish give me a ring, phone works at rim but ??? at Buffalo City. If not will see you at Rileys .We can figure out Thursday night. I always enjoy fishing with different people. Seems I always learn something new. g
  22. Just completed project at work, off until next Wed. Headed down in the morning, hope on river before noon, one seat for Quillback, another open, likely start at Rim. g
  23. If I am counting heads correctly: Thursday: Quill, Phil, Bill, Pete and myself staying (5)($44 each) with Pete likely too late for Supper but Ham should be there. Friday: Quill, Pete, Terrierrman and myself (4)($59 each) for sure with possible Lane, N9Bow plus Ham and maybe Phil & Bill for supper Saturday: Terrierman and myself (2)($118 each) for sure with possible Lane and N9Bow..... Would it be possible to use a smaller unit like the log cabin or bunk lodge rather than the River Villa, as so many have bailed out? Or Cancel Saturday night? I need to leave mid-morning Sunday to start prep for two days of unpleasantness. Rick might expect me to shave and act respectable at $120 each...... ??
  24. was trying to pm you my phone # can not seem to send message

  25. Pretty sure Ham will be there for supper Thursday and Friday. If I remember correctly Phil and Duane stayed for supper last year, but with Bill having a trip Saturday he may need to get back, but we can cook early if need be, just play it by ear, will bring plenty of fish of some sort.
