Shore fishing near Holiday Island
rps replied to Todd R Williams's topic in Beaver Tailwater/Upper White River
The flat point right at the entrance to the Holiday Island marina and then upstream until you reach the trees is worth a try. Bass and walleye, try the Ned rig, dragged, and a silver buddy fished on the drop and slow rip off the bottom. Go upstream just past the turn to the left. Right in front of the small graveyard is good. The mouth of Butler Creek, as mentioned above is excellent. Directly opposite that mouth, if you get permission first, would also be excellent in the late Spring. -

Yep. Here at home with me.

I took a date to that Love Story. She cried so hard I had to take her home.

From now until February 1, a minnow tipped light color jig (think Road Runner) .in the 1/8 to 3/16 size fished like you described for the Binks. Put the hook point in the mouth and through the floor of the mouth. Turn it and bring it back in through the gills. Stays on better that way and I think it helps make it less likely to hang. After Feb 1, it will be jerk bait time. Concentrate on low light times. PM me and I will suggest two locations.

No more leftovers! Pork tenderloin with a mustard/wine/butter pan sauce and a side of butter sauteed brussels sprouts and mushrooms.

Ness is that way. He only started this thread to taunt us with his food.

Post turkey day challenge. How many ways to use the left overs without getting bored. One way -> turkey potato and vegetable soup.

The one I bought is stamped Canadian on one side and on the other, near the handle, Grohmann with DH Russel below it. Below that is says #2 stainless.

Utility belt knife look at this. I bought mine from A.G. Russel for considerably less. https://koolmoon.com/products/grohmann-original-design-fixed-blade-knife-4in-elliptical-blade-rosewood-handle?variant=17849586090054 Paring knife and quail knife. https://agrussell.com/knife/A-G-Russell-Woodswalker-in-Leather-Hip-Pocket-Sheath--AGPRS Fish filet knife and kitchen boning knife. https://www.anglerscenter.com/gamefishing-accessories/knives/forschner-6-semi-stiff-knife?gclid=Cj0KCQiAt_PuBRDcARIsAMNlBdr69dwHdJMLHUXLwG8680hN2VKEyH7vHqiJGuwkZXys9X47P4eLAo4aAjM_EALw_wcB Chef knife. https://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Fibrox-Chefs-Knife-8-Inch/dp/B008M5U1C2/ref=asc_df_B008M5U1C2/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198090821251&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=280872398123317758&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026564&hvtargid=pla-320868655861&psc=1 Santuko. https://www.amazon.com/Wusthof-Classic-Hollow-Edge-Santoku-4182/dp/B004ZQABO0/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?gclid=Cj0KCQiAt_PuBRDcARIsAMNlBdqLm5CZrYBVDqwMftLI9ziZVmC1_I44oKlkSlpaCQaCGLiX4kA2fzsaAkUFEALw_wcB&hvadid=153739593969&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9026564&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=e&hvrand=14757126086407258852&hvtargid=kwd-118848856&hydadcr=13931_9328463&keywords=wusthof+santoku&qid=1574811052&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=ADSC7EIWQ1RB8&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFQMVFZMjQxSURGS1ImZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA4MTI3ODIyOVZRN1Y0WFRJRE5RJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA2MzA5MzIyMExOTlMxN0o3N0c0JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

Those sound wonderful! I like tasty and creative foods. (Other than beef liver, bananas, and sea cucumber)

I buy spools of 10 pound. The line diameter is roughly that of 2 or 4 pound mono. The actual strength is much higher than 10. Besides any heavier than that becomes difficult to break off. A word of caution for those who have not used braid on baitcasters. Braid, if you don't watch it, can slip into the crack between the spool and the body of the reel. Two things wiill help avoid this. Higher quality reels will have a lesser gap. A well educated thumb combined with the correct spool adjustment becomes important.

I am in awe!

I have converted to braid as well. I use a double palomar. Line breaks before the knot. Found out about the knot from line testing by Tackle Tour. https://www.101knots.com/double-palomar-knot.html I also found a great braid this last Spring. It is not cheap, but it stands up to rocks better than Spiderwire and the color does not rub off. https://finatictackle.com/collections/finatic-braided-line
