  1. Techo used to try the same thing about Aunts Creek.
  2. It's rather nice that you can fish the inside bend and the outside bend without starting the big motor. Many of you have not fished up here. We actaully have more LM than spots. What we do not have as many of are the brown fish. I may joke about the carp water, but I assure you that within 6 river miles each direction from Eagle Rock there are a multitude of big fish (bass and walleye) locations. Now watch. Because I have said that, the weather will plan so that the big fish is the only fish that measures 15 inches.
  3. How appropriate!
  4. Listen to the French housewives. If the meat is tough, a slow braise in a wine based broth will fix the problem without hiding the true flavors. Look at these: http://www.cooksillustrated.com/recipes/188-beef-burgundy?extcode=K00NCSW00 http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/beef-bourguignon-recipe.html http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/coq-au-vin-recipe4.html
  5. That's right guys. Upstream of the KC bridge is just trash water. Carp, gar, and maybe a few crappie. That's what will make a tournament up here difficult for you.
  6. Eagle Rock on the 14th. Yes! Set it up. I will fish and cook. I will not promise I will catch, but I will enjoy trying.
  7. Outstanding idea! Duck would fit the semi tart sauce perfectly. At Cordon Bleu, the chef teaching stroganoff said to keep the chunks thicker to prevent "drying" the meat out. People do this often, even in pot roasrts and stews. Some time, if someone gave me the supplies, I might put together a recipe that does not depnd on a mix? Hint, hint?
  8. My list is short because most of what I dream about, I have done. I would like to night fish the Pothole for giant walleye pre-spawn. I would like to learn how to target giant bass on a jerk bait in TR. Both are unlikely because I hate to be cold! But both would be cool. On a note of whimsy, I will add one more. You will all understand. I would like to fish with Dad one more time - anywhere and for anything in Missouri. Thankfully we did several times before he passed in 2001. But once more would be fine with me.
  9. Scott. You are a miserable low class worthless piece of excrement for posting pictures like that when honest, forthright, real Americans like Jason and I are working our butts off to do the things that make America great. I can hardly wait for summer when I can do the same.

    12-17 Report

That is an impressive depth for that length of line. I assume braid? What action? Tight wiggle or search or tail waggle?
  11. Saturday, March 21, 2015, Big M, no A rig, free, socializing afterward. What is not to like about this. If I am healthy and if the roads are clear, I am in. I will look stupid in the only tin boat with a tiller steer, but that is only my pride talking. If QB brings a grill, I will too. Wings anyone?
  12. I run Ad Block Plus and make very few exceptions.
  13. I understand. The concept flat works. At the extreme edges of production, difficulties arise. A double guard on a small jig ig a challenge.
  14. bo How light can you make your head? Something in the 1/16th to 1/12th range would be fantastic! You would own the Ned market.

    Walleye

    Awesome smallmouth!
  16. After 24 inches or so, a good approximation is each inch is a pound. Usually, mostly, on an average. Skinny and fat deviations exist. I have caught a 5 pound 27 inch fish. And the one 32.5 inch fish was closer to 14 than 13 pounds. A 25 inch fish that goes 6 pounds would be a chunky devil.
  17. green vibes
  18. Deal.

  20. I am waiting on the backordered mounting bracket to arrive.
  21. Like many, I ventured out today. I cannot post pictures of fish as I did not do well. However, I learned valuable information that may help others. 1. The new Z-Man T.R.D. on their Z-Man mushroom heads work well together. They also will hook almost anything ... rocks, limbs, motor housings and thumbs fo sure. When I find out I will advise on whether they hook fish. 2. Water temp up here is betwee 49 and 50. 3. I found the owner of the white houseboat cleaning spotted bass and walleye when I came in. He reports the fish have begun to enter the winter pattern he will fish from now to March. He creeps along at .3 to .5 mph dragging a jig baited with a live minnow. His fish today were between 19 and 25 feet deep. Hope this helps you.
  22. I started to write about fizzing but realized QB had that knowledge. There was a long intelligent discussion about fizzing on this board a couple of years ago. Look at this tool and the through mouth method. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Bends_Mender_Deflator_Needle/descpage-BMDNP.html
  23. I do not regularly fish 40 feet. However, I have had the bladder in throat occur as shallow as 25 feet.
  24. Sounds like a ton of good advice. I hope your trip is a great one!
  25. Aluminum is the answer if you want a good boat below 30k.
